Coffee and sandwiches were amazing. The staff was nice, food came out pretty quickly. There were a lot of tables for the space but very crowded. read more

Food and coffee were both so delicious! Loved the plantains, good vibes in the restaurant and quick service

I'm from Tampa, so I'm pretty particular about my cuban coffee and Cuban bread. This place nails it on the coffee! Better than I can get some places back home. Perfect amount of sugar. The Cuban bread is also good, but not quite as good as you can get in florida (you need the terrible water we have there to make it great). Highly recommend this place. read more

De los mejores sándwiches cubanos en el área de Chicago , café con leche muy recomendado

I'm a huge fan of the sandwiches and soup. Nine out of 10 times the food is delicious. But 3 out of 4 times the order is wrong. I'll carry out and get back to work only to see they've given me a sandwich I didn't order or forgotten something. The kitchen gets it right but the servers don't. Annoying. And definitely can't trust delivery. I won't stop going to this place but always second guess ing. No longer carrying out (which seems to be a long wait even when it's not busy) until I've opened and unwrapped everything. Their tuna sandwich is my favorite. read more

Just stopped in for a pick me up. Food was great! I shared the mojo shrimp with my husband and my son had a ham Cuban pressed sandwich. The sandwich bread was great!! Just the right amount of chewy and crunchy. He enjoyed his sandwich although he only wanted ham and mozzarella so I think he missed out on any Cuban flavor. The Mojo shrimp was served with fried plantains and black beans and rice. The shrimp seasoning had a tasty mix of garlic and lime. Mixed in with it was peppers and onions which evened it out beautifully. The shrimp itself was done right. Not over or under cooked. The black beans and rice were a little bland but cooked perfectly. Mixed in with the mojo shrimp it was good. The atmosphere was casual coffee house. It was clean and kid friendly. They serve American and Cuban coffee. Good for a quick treat. Not a date night destination IMO read more

I've been to other Cefecito Chicago locations and this one is the worst by far. I was disappointed immediately upon entering the establishment. It was dirty and not what I expected at all. The place was very loud with machines whirring and staff yelling and laughing. Numerous menu items were not available, which was super disappointing. In fact, on their menu they have yucca grits listed as a starter. However, when I asked they said they don't sell them at this location! This was frustrating because it's listed on their main menu and even their paper menus. I only ended up eating here because there weren't many other options around on a Sunday. The chivito sandwich, that I get all the time, was way smaller compared to other ones I've had. This specific location gives a bad name to the brand. If this was the first cafecito I had ever gone to, I would never choose to eat at another one again. The staff is also extremely rude and unprofessional. read more

Cafecito - Café con leche - Cuban Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Good coffee. It was delicious with a little bit of sweet. I ordered the double cafecito.

Stopped in this cafe for a quick bite to eat and was not disappointed. It was breakfast time when we stopped by so I didn't get to have the Cuban sandwich that they are famous for. Instead I had the Bistec con Huevos and it was delicious! It's basically a steak and eggs sandwich with grilled onions and your chose of one of 3 cheeses. I chose mozzarella and it was perfect. They also serve Cuban coffee, but I am not a coffee drinker so I can't tell you anything about it other than a lot of people were ordering it. Overall friendly cafe atmosphere and the food was fresh, cooked to order, and came out quickly. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

This coffee shop was attached to my hotel, where I was staying the weekend in Chicago, went there the first day for Cuban coffee, was ok, but still better than hotel coffee. Second day went there same coffee cashier had quite bad customer service, after ordering the coffee I got distracted with phone calls my coffee was setting there and got colder I asked her if she can reheat my coffee and she ignored my request like if she didn't hear me, so I asked again and she said( no we can't do that it got cold get another one) coffee wasn't worth it in the first place. read more

Omg the wait at this location. Came in on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30 pm and ordered a cubano. Slow slow slow from start to end. The guy who was clearing off the tables did not notice the growing line of customers. The manager (I think, or rather the woman making all the coffees and running food) had to let him know to take food orders. Meanwhile she does not even acknowledge that there are customers waiting. Then what really irks me is that three sets of orders are placed out to serve to customers (mine and the the people behind me in line). The woman who was running the food proceeds to serve the food to the people behind me in line while my sandwich sits at the counter. This is when I whip out the phone and start the Yelp review.... oblivious that I standing right there, she goes about her business until I ask her about getting my sandwich. The food here is excellent but the service sucks. Best to go to the Madison and Wells location! read more

I am SO sad I don't have a Cafecito in the DC area. I have to be satisfied going here three times during a four night stay right around the corner. The cafe is cute, the menu is plentiful, the sandwiches are super delicious, and the prices are just right. The Ropa Viejo and the Chivito sandwiches are insanely good! read more

It's OK. Not the best Cubano I've had. Seemed mostly pork, little cheese and little ham. I have had better.

I actually went here because everything else seemed to be closed. But it was a lucky find! I had a steak breakfast sandwich that was pleasantly spiced with warm soft bread ,eggs, onions and cheese. The coffee is very good. The staff is friendly. May come back later and try a Cubano! read more

The service so bad and disappointing, never going back, if they keeping like that they gonna loose a lot at clients.

Cafecito delivers both authentic flavors and great service. This is my go-to place for Saturday morning breakfast and coffee.

Going to place is like walking through a door into Cuba. The music, the aroma of the spices, the decor... I eat there at least once a week, as this "little cafe" is conveniently located across from the building where I teach. Everything is so good that it's hard to choose a favorite, and the staff is really friendly. I was afraid they wouldn't survive the pandemic like so many other places, but I'm so glad they did. I would give this place 10 stars if I could! read more

Cafecito you did it again! Horrible costumer service. Yesterday, I decided to give them another try since my first experience was not that good. I got there at 11:07am hoping to get a breakfast sandwich and the cashier/barista (with long plastic nails ) told me no because it was passed 11. Ok, not big deal ( she did the same thing to another 2 guys who came after me, but they left, she didn't care losing business with them... I guess) I asked for the Cuban sandwich instead, the sandwich was below average. I paid for a small coffee and a sandwich almost $11. I left thinking that the walk, the quality of the food AND the customer services do not worth future visits. read more

Limited Cuban spot in Chicago! Moving from Miami to here, it was hard to find authentic Cuban food or a cortadito! This place is known for their ropa vieja sandwich! It's juicy shredded beef with maduros (sweet plantains) and black beans on Cuban toast. Genius idea! It's not as heavy as the plate form on a bed of rice. They also have this herb aioli that they put on a lot of their sandwiches that's delicious. Not only do they have sandwiches but they also have entree sized plates. The environment is clean, chill and just the right size; about 8 tables (a bit bigger than a coffee shop). The cafe con leche has just the right about of sugar and strength! I have not tried their pastelitos but they look delicious. As a fellow Cuban-American, I approve! this hits the spot every time! read more

Cafecito - Cafe con leche - Cuban Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Cafecito is nice for cold days and enjoyable in the summer. Their plantains, rice and beans are prefect to warm up with along with a traditional cafecito or cafe con leche. The sandwiches are good for warmer days. The food and coffee both can be described as pretty traditional Cuban without much grill or twist. This is a good place for a quick bite with a friend when you're downtown. Unfortunately not very spacious and does not have super reliable wifi, so I wouldn't recommend bringing work to do or coming with large groups. read more

Guard your belongings! I was at this Cafecito the evening of the Friday after Thanksgiving. The place was pretty empty. I paid for my sandwich with cash from my wallet. Before I left I checked my purse and my wallet was gone. Shortly thereafter I received text alerts for fraudulent charges using my credit cards. I was told the only way to contact the owner was via email which I did but he never responded. read more

Went in to grab a bit before class and the food was good but, horrible customer service. I walked in and the 2 girls at the counter where chit chatting away not greeting nothing I stood there for a bit before being acknowledged. When I was finally greeted by a taller blond girl it was very monotone and dry like she would much rather not be there. It's a cafe I get that dress code is lax but this girl had her hair down that's super unsanitary. I might go and visit another location but not this one the service was just bad. read more
