Was passing by here on my way to pick up a burrito from Senor Sisig. The photos of their fresh fruit smoothies were enticing so I popped in to check out their menu. I love agua frescas so I decided to order one of their blended fresh fruit smoothies. I asked if it was possible to mix some of the fruit and the women helping were super friendly and accommodating. I chose the mango and pineapple and when the woman making it saw me eyeing out another one on the counter that had a red swirl, she offered if I wanted to add chamoy and tajin to it. The only right answer is yes. It was a touch on the sweeter side, but was super fresh and the tajin and chamoy added a fun complexity of flavor. Would come back if I was in the area again. This coffee shop is cute for a quick coffee pick me up or a sit down and enjoy your meal. The service is great ! I ordered a breakfast croissant and a red eye coffee. Once my food and drink was ready, the staff walked over to where I was sitting and brought me my goodies. And I noticed that while people were sitting down enjoying their food, the staff would bring them cups of water. They seemed very accommodating to the customers. A seemingly simple and straight forward cafe that is hiding 5 star food and amazing coffee. By consciously selecting the best ingredients prepared extremely well, this place delivers insanely high quality sandwiches, salads and much more. Plus, they are open on Thanksgiving! Some of the best coffee we've ever had, velvety and smooth, very low acid. They don't use cheap purveyor crap here. Everything is meticulously selected, especially the local baked goods. You'd be lucky to have this place in your neighborhood. Completely unpretentious and with a beautiful community room decorated by patrons. Fast and friendly service as well, with great recommendations. Make sure you get the garlic potatoes and try a breakfast croissant sandwich. They even make their own croutons! This is a super cute cafe with a ton of refreshing drink options! Their strawberry lemonade is definitely what I'd recommend going for cause it's a perfect mix of sweet and tart. Drip coffee was great and smooth tasting. The latte was extremely hot, had to let it cool for awhile to drink it. We think the milk got scorched too. A little hole in the wall in downtown Oakland. Parking can be a pain, but there are plenty of pay lots that are nearby. I come here regularly and have nothing bad to say about it ever.. Love this cafe, I'm a regular here. I come almost everyday. And unfortunately the guy that works the register here sucks. He got a real bad attitude and his customer service sucks. The lady that works there is very sweet. I recommend not coming when he is working cause is very he rude, had a bad attitude and when he makes the smoothies it's just not good, and doesn't taste as good when the lady is working. I moved to Alameda a year ago, and the one consistent thing in that time has been Cafe Uccello. The staff is incredibly friendly and I have never felt unwelcome there, the service is also very quick. The food is incredible, they have the best smoothies I've ever had in my life, and the coffee is awesome too!! This place excels in every way. It's so cute inside and the back room is awesome with all of the writing on the wall. It's just such a comfortable and cozy vibe in there, I love it. Even when you sit down to eat they bring water and bring your food which I think is less and less common these days with everything being self serve (coming from someone who also worked at a cafe). Twice a week I take my child to dance class at the Malonga Casquelord and while he's dancing I walk around the neighborhood to explore the locally owned spots. Very friendly service: like others, I was also impressed by Jasmine, and we chatted about the flamingo mural inside and also her lovely bird pin.
