Tony spoke to me in a tone and manner of disrespect no customer should ever experience. I called him to discuss this issue and he hung up the phone in my face. This place is alright, but the coffee was luke warm at best. The pasteries are presented in the case still in their bakery boxes, a little effort presentation would be good. The cookie I got though was pretty good. They also seemed to have other impulse buys like toys or something still in the shipping boxes? Kinda tacky. Lighting isn't that great. I do have to say that the place did have a TON of kids playing on the computers. One of the highlights of my trip! The turkey and cranberry on toasted sourdough with avocado sauce was delicious as was the blueberry donut, and the caramel tapioca iced drink was also really good. But bar far the most enjoyable part was the service. Owner Tony strives to take care of you and it was a joy to see him multi-task. Absolutely wonderful and caring owners and staff. Nicest people you can meet. Highly recommend getting a tasty bagel sandwich, fresh coffee, smoothie, boba and fresh doughnuts. They even make sure to have extra doughnuts for the kids to enjoy when schools let out down the street. There are tables to sit at inside and placed outside in good weather. I went for a coffee and a space to work in the late afternoon. The place was clear except for a small group of students who were there studying. It left me plenty of space to work and a strong WiFi signal. I ordered a skim chai latte, which is my typical beverage of choice, and was very happy with it. Just sweet enough and the right temperature to drink after a few minutes. A star off because I missed out on the donut variety- a few things left, but nothing that caught my eye. read more

I love this place. I have been coming here for 5+ years, multiple times a week. I liked the original owners, and the family who took it over is just as nice. I always get the Thai Tea w/ tapioca. Wonderful cafe. Great bagel sandwiches and coffee. The lady who helped us was busy working without help and yet she was always happy, friendly and very helpful. A disaster! My family and I ordered four drinks and waited 45 minutes for them while the owner gave drinks to customers that ordered and came after us. When I inquired why we had to wait so long, he became very belligerent and told us he didn't have time for this, told us never came back and gave us our money back. This place would have gotten at least 4 stars before I received the worst customer service of my life. I bought a caramel iced latte with tapioca pearls and a donut for me and a donut and a small bottle of 2% milk for my grandmother. Everything was very good, except my grandmother said the milk tasted spoiled and she couldn't drink it. The expiration date hadn't passed yet, so she figured a new one probably wouldn't make a difference and she just wanted her money back. I returned to the store less than 15 minutes later to get my money back and the man behind the counter went on a rant about all the reasons I couldn't get a refund. He was extremely defensive and nasty about it. If you don't give refunds, that's fine, but there is no reason to be so ugly about it. After him going on and on about responsibility and how he paid for the milk, I finally just asked "so, you're not going to give me my money back?" And he threw his hands up and said "call the police!" Um, what? I just walked out at that point because you have to be unhinged to want to involve the police over a $2 bottle of milk. I don't even live in this area, but my grandmother does and I know she nor anyone else I know will be going there again. read more

of course hercules would have a place that sells tapioca drinks.! hey no complaints here. its good to know its always there to satisfy my once in a while cravings for those slimy little brown balls. lots of flavor selections to choose from. as long as they have taro or thai tea, im golden. they sell food too but i dont care much for that. bring cash cuz they dont want your plastic! if you have BofA, theres an atm across the parking lot. if you dont, then youd be paying a service fee for for some tapioca sucka! totally worth it though. :) read more

every saturday, i love to start the day with a mocha frapp with tapioca (hold the whip please!), and creekside has been a great provider for this fix. service is wonderful and the cafe offers free wireless for those poor souls detached from the digital super highway. but... the peacefulness of creekside is always interrupted by the army of awkward pubescents who ovverrun the cafe's free access computers to live their lives virtually as a knight, or a dwarf, or some elf bloodlusting for not-so-real world domination. plus what is up with their hours? disheartening to find this place closed when i have "one of those days" at work and i need a frapp fix bad..... all in all, i really like creekside.... it's a refreshing change from the ubiquity of starbucks. nothing personal starbucks but where's the love? read more

I like this place since its in Hercules and I always use to order the breakfast sandwiches. The tapioca drink are okay. I can tell that the tapioca is over cooked sometimes and the Taro flavor I always get seems to taste a bit powdery. I've definitely had better boba at other places. read more

seriously i can't! I went in this morning bought a croissant and an old fashioned donut, when i tried to eat it i was hard as a rock, not fresh, gross and the croissant was under cooked. I was so upset i walked back and demanded a new one. The guy wasn't pleased and said " well all donuts are different" he did not seem apologetic at all. Hello MotherF***ker no donut should be harder than a rock no matter what kind, it was obviously day old donut. The food is good, I'll give them points for that, and the staff are friendly which gives them more kudos... but the fact that tons of kids flood the internet for online gaming way past the amount of time allotted for computer use while others are waiting to utilize the internet for quick but more important matters is a bit of annoyance. read more

Best boba in hercules & you can buy your lotto at the same time. It is always busy-expect a wait. Owner is nice but always seems frazzled. Don't buy the donuts unless you make sure there are no flies in the case. All the boba flavors are done just right. Not to sweet and always good. read more

Pretty good tapioca drinks, though they're missing grape. The tapiocas were a little hard and the slush melted too fast (from the store to my house which is practically a mile away--but that's not the shop's fault). Quiet place and has great A/C...hah! It's been quite awhile since we've been back here and boy were we surprised. The layout changed quite a bit and a lot more color! The cafe seems smaller and seating area very compact. But there seems to be a lot more items for sale. The pastries are still pretty good. My kids still like the donut holes and I indulged myself with the chocolate croissant, which was good. The kids and I got boba drinks. My daughter the coconut, my son the mango slush or with mango popping boba, and I the taro with boba. My daughter and I both thought out drink were okay, but my son absolutely loved his. I tried his drink, and I have to say it was pretty good. So overall the boba is okay and probably the only game around. My wife got caramel macchiato. My wife and I were very surprised. My wife really enjoyed it, so I had to try it. I expected it to be too sweet, but nope. It was very enjoyable. The whip cream took me off guard, but other than that it was pretty good! For me the coffee was better than the boba and if I'm in the area I will always chose the coffee here over Starbucks. read more

So, off the bat: the boba is ok but their drinks are good. The boba lately has been too sticky to even suck up with the straw. Always end up having to tear the top of the drink off to eat it... Ruins the experience. The reason I gave this two stars that I RECOMMEND YOU ALL READ: BEWARE of the man who takes your order. Seriously, this guy is horrible. I believe he's the husband of the lady (who is SUPER nice). Anyways, he's constantly looking for a way to RIP YOU OFF. He's ALWAYS trying to change the prices on me but he fails every time because I know it. He tried to rip my friend off in front of me today and he's been continuously ripping my mother off when she goes without me. I was in line today and he tried to rip off the family in front of me - to which they responded with "no thanks" and confused looks. He takes forever to jot down one order and gets easily confused as well, really ruining your experience and wasting your time. You await your drink with a suspicion that it will be prepared incorrectly - and sometimes it is! TLDR;; This place is good for a quick local drink. The drinks are good but the boba can be bad. Be careful of the guy ripping you off. Check the prices. read more

Soooooo much better than the starbucks down the street! If you're a Peet's person and don't want to have to drive to El Cerrito for a good cup of coffee, come here. When the line is out the door for watered down coffee at starbucks, you can count on 2-3 people in front of you here. I haven't tried their sandwiches, but the menu looks tasty. I agree the afternoon kids can be annoying, but you should be fine on weekends and during school hours. read more
