We found this place while looking for a new dessert place and saw some of their cakes that appealed to us. We tried the carrot cake, the almond tea, the chocolate, and the apple one. The almond tea and carrot were my favorites! Soo good. Just enough crisp on the outer edge and softness on the inside. Delicious! The place is clean and has a good space to study/do some work. I love this place but I don't really understand the vibe. Despite the name of the place, their main dishes and snacks are the main attraction here. their noodles and specials are really tasty and their fried snacks are well fried and tastes better than other generic boba shops in the area. Their boba/drinks are okay and their sweets are good, but I really wouldn't go out of my way here for it. They have "Cafe" in their name but there's no outlets or anything making it a comfy cafe to sit in and enjoy your drink. It feels more like a sit down restaurant, but also not one at the same time. There's a showcase of action figures and stuff, which is cool, but I just don't know how much I care for it in the cafe. This place has a lot of potential bc the food is phenomenal, but it's a weird game of mental gymnastics to get myself to want to come here. it's a dessert place, but not a dessert place that is a cafe but doesn't feel like a cafe. I recommend trying their fried chicken wings and the fries; they cook it fresh to order so they are piping hot and crispy. If you go on Wednesday, they have birria and it surpringly very good!! I was able to try their camilia tea which is very similar to wintermelon. It is def one of my fav drinks there! The owner also hand bakes almond tea cakes fresh daily! Came across this cute new cafe because of the grand opening sign. Right now they are having a special on their drinks. Buy 2 get 1 free! And if you buy anything over $5, then you get a free cookie. We tried the almond tea cake. I've never had anything like this. If you love almonds, you MUST try it! It was crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. A new spot opened up nearby and decided to check it out. Came for the drinks but decided to grab a bite as well. The strawberry fruit tea and milk tea were both freshly made to order. Boba was sweet and chewy and you can really taste the tea flavor as well. Not too sweet! We also ordered today's special which was dried noodles. Their signature Almond Tea Cake is just sooooo delicious with the best balance of a touch of crunchy outside and moist tea cake inside with almond-y goodness throughout! Yippee! Wednesdays are cheese birria taco day. They were delicious!! Other things we loved: Thai red rubies dessert: this is the best of its kind anywhere! The fresh jackfruit and "red rubies" are my favorite but the other delicious yummies like nata de coco & other jellies add amazing texture and flavor. I just loved the coconut sauce! It's not too sweet and has such a great full flavor. Coco Lada muffin: a delicious combo of flavors that pair so well but since the ingredients are the real deal, there is no fake piña colada taste. Instead, it's got chunks of real pineapple and coconut! Apple Cinnamon bite: really yummy and reminds me of an apple pie but without being overly sweet and gooey with a soggy crust. Not only does it have chunks of real apple, it also has coconut too, which really add to the flavor! Double chocolate pecan: wow! This is a chocoholic's dream cookie! Super Chocolate-y but not overpowering. Delish! Mango tea: sometimes it's hard to decide how to customize a tea, but this fresh brewed-to-order mango tea was perfectly delicious! Small little shop that serves up really good food and drinks. I came here with my friends on a Sunday and tried some of their foods and drinks. The almond tea cake was absolutely AMAZING. The exterior was chewy with a very slight crunch while the inside was soft, moist, and rich. The almond flavor was definitely prevalent and the cake was the perfect sweetness. The fried dumplings and eggrolls were so flavorful and crispy. I like that for both of them the wrapper was pretty thin so that the flavor and textures of the filling were prioritized, while still having a really nice crunch on the outside. The papaya salad that accompanied the fried foods was really refreshing and paired nicely. The dry noodles here are an absolute hit as well. It comes with egg noodles, beef meatballs, sliced beef, and ground pork. This dish was so flavorful and satisfying. I got a mango fruit tea and it was very refreshing, with a really nice mango flavor to it. The Chinese fungus dessert was also really refreshing. Their drinks and desserts are the perfect sweetness, you won't feel like they're overwhelmingly sweet or not sweet enough. Wow this place is great. I went to get a haircut next door and my barber told me to go next door and get a coffee that they were good. I ordered some coffees Togo and while I waited had some of the tea cakes. They were seriously some of the best pastries I've ever had. I got some egg rolls which we really good. Decided to take a walk and ending trying this local cafe in my neighborhood. This matcha foam is something else (in the best way possible) I love to get dirty matcha lattes from other places. Cam here after a round of golf at the Arcadia golf course. Jaqueline and Auntie are so helpful and told me about the different type of treats and foods they had. I got the dry noodles and the seasoned fries (sooooo crispy and flavorful) and then got to try a couple of the flavors of those muffin thingies. SO perfect. Satisfied my sweet tooth without being overly sweet! My fav was the PUMPKIN AND APPLE. The crispy outside and the gooey chewy almost mochi like inside. So good. The server was so sweet and kind, she gave us generous samples of other tea cakes as well. Service was amazing! We also got the Thai ruby red coconut dessert to go. It was delicious! We noticed there was still a "buy 2 get 1' free promo for the drinks but we were so full from our meal so we didn't try it. The owner came out and offered to give us a full sized drink sample of our choice. How cool was that???!!!! Honestly, without the free samples, we would highly recommend this place anyway because of the quality and freshness of what we had there. Came in on their second day of opening and was warmly invited by a homey atmosphere and great service! I only intended to come in for a drink and a pastry since I already had lunch but they convinced me to try a couple of their food items and good thing I did! Their chicken curry with vermicelli was great with a nice and rich coconut broth with hints of either kaffir lime leaf or lemongrass. They also let us try an assortment of their egg rolls, wings, fries, and papaya salad which all balanced really well together. The fried foods were perfectly crispy and the papaya salad served with it accompanied it well, with a nice acidity and subtle spice to contrast. My friends also got a few other items. This included the hainanese chicken rice which they told me was nice and light with a really flavorful broth that i got to try. Something they also got was the stir fried dry noodles which was a SLEEPER HIT! The noodle texture was perfectly chewy with some super flavorful beef and meatball. If they have this when you come, make sure you try it! I also didn't forget about a drink! I ordered a strawberry green tea and my friend got a mango green tea. Both paired really well with the food and I actually liked their mango green tea better. I don't think it's on their official menu just yet but I hope they add it since it was really good! Lastly, me and my friends shared a few of the pastries which was the main reason we came. The almond tea cake was the star of the show with a nice nuttiness while also being not too sweet. The pineapple coconut and apple cinnamon sweets were really good as well and should not be counted out! One of my friends particularly enjoyed their pecan chocolate cookie which was both chewy and crispy! The perfect texture in my opinion! Overall, I would definitely come back! If I could, I would give this place 6 stars. I was looking for an independent coffee shop that was still open at 5 pm on a Sunday and there weren't many, so I decided to try Cafe Sweets. I drink a lot of coffee and have a picky palate, and I must say this place was among the best I've ever had. I went with an iced latte/less sweet/less ice and I added a sea salt cold foam on top. Whoa- it was SO good. My dad had a hot latte with a creme brûlée cold foam and he was also pleasantly surprised. To accompany our lattes, we ordered the cookies - an apple cinnamon bite and an almond tart. These were more of a dense, moist half- muffin than a crisp cookie. They were SO delicious- not too sweet but LOTS of flavor- fresh baked. The Thai dessert drink was also delicious, with the subtle flavor of coconut milk. The service was also exceptional. The owner came out to greet us after we finished and told us about the savory things in the menu, which we will be sure to try on a future visit. The dry noodles looked tasty as did the fried dumplings with papaya salad. I'll try that next time. I will definitely be back. I loved the small, intimate space. All in all, it was a nice combo of tasty food and drink, an attentive and friendly owner, and a laid back atmosphere that was clean and tidy.
