I…read moreespecially loved the beautiful artwork, the coffee bags used as part of the décor, all the plants, and the little community library by the window. You can tell there is so much culture and thought behind the space. The coffee selection is great, and the staff made the experience feel even more welcoming. It's a perfect spot to enjoy a good cup of coffee, relax, study, or simply spend some quiet time. Definitely a hidden gem and a place I'll be coming back to!

There's a lot I want to say about this spot but I'm a try and keep it short lol…read more My first time visiting was this past Sunday, May 31st. I had my whole day planned out with a list of events to attend but first I wanted to stop by Patria and grab some coffee to start my morning off. Located in a parking lot next to Wilson Park on Compton Blvd and Alameda Street you'll find this nice cut lawn in front of this small white building, Patria Coffee Roaster. Depending on your time of arrival, the parking lot can be full but it's cool cuz there's also street parking available. I was able to park in the lot. After walking in I was welcomed and greeted with positive energy from 2 young ladies who I forgot their names but we'll just call them "A" and "C" lol. A guy to my right was sitting next to the window working on his laptop. And two others against the wall sipping their coffees and doing whatever on their phones. A customer was at the register ordering while another customer walked in to stand in line behind me. I let her go in front of me while I took pics and recorded footage. I like the atmosphere and space a lot. It has a very nice decor. Artwork, pictures and murals with history displayed along the walls. Grab and cold drinks available for purchase. Nice music playing that wasn't too loud but just right to complement a chill coffee shop vibe. "A" was friendly and patient as shared with her this was my first visit. As I browsed thru the coffee menu before making my selection I noticed more costumes coming in. I ordered a medium sized Americano which is $3.75 but I requested to add some hazelnut creamer as well as some almond milk which totaled out to $4.75 which was quite exceptional to me. Giving the location, the quality of service and the quality of the coffee. Not to mention to overall experience. I even thru in a $1 tip. I support the business and love the space. It feels welcoming and safe. The restroom was clean. They also have many different events held there. If you're ever in the area definitely pull up and check em' out. It's black owned as well. I actually ended up sitting there in the lot sipping my coffee while working on my video to post on social media. The coffee was good and tasteful. Didn't need any sugar. Great vibes and great coffee. You can even go the park right next door and get your steps in or just chill. I definitely recommend coming here. If you're passing thru the area or coming to the city, do yourself a favor and pull up. Check em' out. Grab you a coffee or something. Prices are reasonable and the community is welcoming to all individuals.

If your kitchen closes at 2:00, that needs to be clearly communicated to customers. People check business hours before making the trip specifically so they know whether a place is open and serving. Advertising that you're open until 4:00 without disclosing that the kitchen stops serving at 2:00 sets customers up for an unnecessary and frustrating experience. I completely understand having separate kitchen and café hours. What I don't understand is failing to communicate them. A simple update to the website and a sign at the café would prevent this entirely. Unfortunately, I came here expecting to have lunch based on the hours they advertise and left extremely disappointed. Please clearly post your kitchen hours so other customers don't waste their time.

We came here around 3 PM on a Thursday to get some work done and our afternoon caffeine re-dose. Service was great! I got the cookie butter matcha and I didn't know this was a combination I needed in my life. I think they pair very well together because matcha and cookie butter are kind of nutty in flavor profile. It's perfectly balanced too. I would get this again for sure, that says a lot cause I'm the type that likes to always try something new. They had some donuts and pastries but we didn't try it. I took a sip of the cookie butter latte my girlfriend got and that was delightful too. They have a parking lot for easy free parking. I love the all black and wood interior. They have outlets pretty accessible anywhere you sit. The WiFi was fast enough for me to work fine. There are not too many tables in here but at the time we came, that wasn't an issue. They have a cart of board games and books you can borrow from too. The place feels clean, I saw the worker cleaning the bathroom while we were here.

I honestly didn't expect this place to be as spacious as it is looking at it from the outside ! The only thing is, parking can be tough when the other businesses in the plaza are busy too. Anyway, I tried the Saigon de leche which I love! My go to is usually a Spanish latte whenever it's on the menu and I enjoyed their version. I thought that even if the latte wasn't good, maybe their matcha would be better. My daughter ordered a matcha, and I ordered a hojicha. I deliberately avoided ordering coffee because of what my friend had told me. But WOW!!! Both drinks were absolutely terrible! My daughter loves matcha, and we've tried it at so many different places, but this was by far the worst matcha she had ever tasted. The hojicha was just as bad. At first, I wondered if the drinks had simply been made incorrectly and considered asking them to remake them. However, since both drinks were so bad, I hesitated to ask for replacements. Honestly, I was even worried that something unpleasant might happen to my drink if I complained, so I decided it wasn't worth the risk. We ended up throwing away the unfinished drinks and leaving. Needless to say, we will never be coming back.

Words to describe Padekwa: Positive vibes, Great spot to work/study, Relaxed, Artistic, Creative, Serene, Peaceful, Safe, spacious Location: It is located by Dollar Tree/7-11. There is plenty of parking because it's in a plaza. Drinks: I ordered their specialties-bananas foster latte and beignet cappuccino. Both served hot. They were delicious! I can taste the sweetness of the bananas and beignets, with the warm combo of the hot coffee. Way to go baristas! After sipping on the coffee nectar, it inspired me to get to work on my work projects. Food: I also tried their brownies and coffee cake. They were both generous slices and appetizing as well! Environment: I really love the aesthetics and atmosphere at Padekwa. You see the personal touches of family life and community. I also love the poem on the wall about art. Thank you for providing a wonderful home for people to create and share! If you need a cup of coffee, inspiration, and a place to work, I highly recommend visiting Padekwa!
