I always like to look for espresso specials and we were not disappointed by the selection. My fiance got The Snug with maple syrup and molasses bitters. I was too afraid to try any drinks with bitters (I hate how it tastes in cocktails) but I took a sip of The Snug and it tasted great, I would definitely try that next time. I had the B.B.L. latte which had banana syrup, it was more on the sweet side but not overly sweet (I would avoid it if you don't enjoy a sweet palate, try a latte with bitters instead!) It was something unique to try and I was happy with my choice. There was also plenty of seating which is always a huge plus in the winter in Rochester. We had no trouble getting a table. I should also note that there was a very limited food selection here -- about 3 baked goods offered. So if you're looking for food and coffee, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Overall I would happily try out Ugly Duck again! I'm curious if they have outdoor seating in the warmer months.

There are plenty of places to sit whether you're alone with a book or meeting up with friends. They sell used books along with a small, nicely curated selection of new titles. The coffee and breakfast sandwiches were tasty, and the staff was friendly. My only gripe is that parking in this area is a complete pain.

It was very sour and the aftertaste was something between strong chemicals and mildew. It was my choice to visit a different coffee shop since I don't live in rochester anymore and want to explore the other cafes rochester has to offer. Maybe some day I will be able to re-visit bookeater and try their coffee again. But until that day, I have a lot of other coffee shops to visit. However, I want to give it 3 stars because the bookstore portion really is amazing.

When i got inside, there were so many more people. I never heard of those place, but i must be the only one. They filled my order fast and helped me with the extras i needed. (Cups, napkins, whatever the thing you put around the cup so you can hold it is called) They were very friendly and helpful. The people on the inside all seemed happy.
