    Brownie?
    Allison F.

Looked on Yelp for a bakery that was open at night for a little snack. This place was open and looked interesting. The awning said espresso, Italian pastries and something else I can't remember. I was very ready for something fabulous. Guess what? Nope Not fabulous or even close to fabulous. First off, it's a teeny tiny place, claustrophobic even. There is an icecream freezer on wheels that the guy has to move so you can walk by to look at the pastries. Wait did I say pastries? No, I didn't mean that. There were a couple of sad cannoli and a weird thing that said brownie something or other. There were strawberry and apricot bars. The guy behind the counter was not friendly at all. I'm thinking we should have gotten an ice cream and called it a day. But of course I decided to be adventurous and ordered an apricot bar and a brownie thing. Bad decision but you already guessed that! So to sum it up, if you are walking around town and want a little snack, get ice cream from here or keep walking to the cool little supermarket and get yourselves some caramel bacon popcorn!

When I walked in, there was no one at the counter and I waited over 5 minutes before some one came to help me. The (worker) man wasn't friendly, and the coffee was not good to me, I ordered a soy vanilla latte and it tasted horrible. I go to Calistoga Roastery 1 block down the street, it has a much bigger selection, the (workers) people there are so sweet, and their coffee is my FAVORITE!

    Apricot bar!!!

Randomly parked in a free spot in front of San Marco cafe and smelled the coffee! We automatically had to go in! I got a mocha and an apricot bar! It was soooooo delicious! My friend got a lemon bar and that was amazing also! It was a little expensive. It was like $3? Well i mean it was a good size so I can't complain. There was a man and woman working there who were not the friendliest but they were pleasant.

I love Model Bakery! Can't go wrong with anything from here…read more We were staying nearby for a few days. So of course we came here for breakfast. I love stopping here when we're in Napa Valley. There's another location at Oxbow Market too. I was going to order at the kiosk but the line was so short, I opted to order in person. I had the sausage breakfast sandwich and a latte. Both were delicious! The sausage breakfast sandwich is on their homemade English muffins which is perfectly made with the slight tang, crunchy crust, and the right chew. Highly recommend!

I was excited to see a kale salad on their menu, especially one with strong fixings such as squash and goat cheese; sadly, the ingredients were entirely AWOL. In the pre-mix photo, it appears like a relatively decent helping, but after mixing, it became a mountain of kale with the other ingredients having been a facade in the initial viewing. Classic shrinkflation by which a $20 salad (yikes!) is padded by a heap of greenery. Furthermore, the squash was undercooked and disappointing even in the few bites of it I had. I believe that the salad could be adjusted to be a satisfying meal (goat cheese is never a wrong choice), but right now it's a miss, for both the stomach and the wallet.

I picked up four macarons (chocolate,…read morevanilla, pistachio, and red velvet) and each one was perfectly balanced with a crisp shell and soft, flavorful center. The cream cheese danish was a standout--generously filled and rich without being overly sweet. The pistachio éclair was absolutely delectable, with a smooth, nutty cream that made it hard to share. I also grabbed the Better Nutter and the TKO (Thomas Keller Oreo), both of which were delicious and worth ordering again. The only item I wasn't too into was the Ohoh, though my niece loved it--so it really just comes down to personal taste. Service was friendly and efficient, even with the steady crowd. The bakery itself is pretty small, so expect a line that may stretch out the door, we waited about 15 minutes just to get inside. Still, definitely worth it for the quality of the pastries!

We stopped in to see what all the buzz was about and left completely obsessed. Don't let the line intimidate you though, it moves surprisingly fast! The shop itself is tiny but mighty, and the moment you walk in, the smell of fresh breads and pastries hits you like a warm hug. Oh, and did we mention it's owned by the legendary Chef Thomas Keller? Yeah, that's reason enough to plant yourself in that line and not look back. I snagged the monkey bread, a blueberry muffin, and a pistachio macaroon, and friends, I have a pro tip: pop those pastries in the microwave for just a few seconds and prepare yourself for pure, warm, buttery greatness. Everything was delicious and perfectly balanced, not too sweet, just right. If you're in Yountville, this stop is non-negotiable!

Friendly and efficient. Though sometimes you wonder what all of them are doing I am convinced from long time observing that they are doing what they need to do in order to keep the flow going. They are also very helpful and friendly. The rest of the store staff is also very personal, kind, thoughtful. They know their customers. The one thing I will say is that their stocking protocols seem to be a bit disorganized. There is never a price on individual items, and looking under the stock at the 'pricing' strips is quite confusing. There just doesn't seem to be any interest in identifying the prices of the items in stock. The skews are there, but there are no prices typically. If there is any price under the stock it typically doesn't have a name of the item referenced. Many times there is no price identified at all, and cashiers may have to go searching for a price. Yes they do have skews on the items, unless they are inaccurate. Beyond this, it's a great resource for the town and highly appreciated. High prices of course, in concert with high quality.

It's one of those foods that usually exists in the background of breakfast, something you barely think about. Model Bakery comes along and casually reminds you that even simple things can be incredible when done properly. The place itself is straightforward with no real indoor seating that we saw, but there's a nice patio and the smell alone is enough to pull you in. Everything felt fresh and warm. We also grabbed a croissant, which absolutely held its own Parking? Lot We had English Muffin (5/5): these are absurdly good. The kind of thing you plan to buy one of and somehow leave with a dozen. They smell almost like donuts when they're warm, with this buttery, slightly sweet aroma that hits you before the first bite. Lightly toasted, they develop the perfect crunch on the outside while staying soft and airy inside. Honestly, all they need is butter. They're great on their own, even better with oatmeal and coffee Croissant (4.5/5): really solid croissant. Soft, buttery, and clearly made with care. It had that delicate pull and layered texture you want without becoming overly heavy or greasy. My only complaint is that it deserved butter and jam on the side to really complete the experience. I get it, there is a fancy building that needs to be paid for. Don't come here for dairy free option if you're looking for something in the sweet and savory department. There are GF options but those are still rittled and laced with butter and dairy. Like, bread is your only choice if you're dairy free. The gentlemen that helped me told me to get a loaf of bread. So I did. $12. I went with the Rosemary, olive oil and sea salt focaccia bread. The good news is, it was nice and soft like an Air b n b pillow. The bad news is, it had more salt than the ocean. With copious amounts of olive oil saturated the bag before I left the parking lot (see attached pic). My husband was not a fan either and we left the loaf of bread out for the pigeons.
