I went to Cafe Rosarita for the ??? time. Not sure how many times. I usually go for the rolled tacos a la carte. Oh they do them so yummingly I dream of these rolled tacos. Their salsa is divine, perfectly blended and those chips!! Mmm I can't stand myself when I'm out of control eating them and dipping their crunchiness into the salsa. It's heavenly! But my favorite is a their menudo. It's spiced so perfectly. I eat it ever so slowly to savor the taste because I do not want it to end. I will return mis amigos... until we eat again!! read more

My mother regularly made chicken and cheese enchiladas using Rosarita enchilada sauce when I was growing up. They were always a favorite of mine. I totally found the restaurant by chance while looking for somewhere to buy the sauce to make my own. Now I don't have to cook them myself. I can order them from Cafe' Rosarita. They're cheap and delicious and all I have to do is order them online and pick them up. read more

I honestly don't like leaving bad reviews unless it taste bad, the food is not cooked well and or missing things I've requested. Burrito medium sized with little bit of poco de gallo and the peppers still had seeds on them, guacamole at the bottom and the meat very greasy. The flour got stuck to the plate and for 15$ it wasn't worth it. And my sauce was missing after requesting to get some to go. The lady was friendly and nice which is great and was fast service. It was hot and not too overly crowded but very welcoming. I'm surely not coming back here again, not the typical authentic Mexican style. The reviews lied to me. read more

The weather was cool a couple of weeks ago, and I wanted some albondiga soup (meatball). The soup hit the spot. It was very good, and a pretty good serving. My husband had the tacos. He was disappointed that they weren't crispy enough, rather on the soft side. His food was okay. It was our second time going. I'll return for the soup and hopefully try the tostada salad which looked good. There was also a constant flow of people coming in, so this seems like a very popular place. read more

We finally tried Cafe Rosarita. We ordered take out and the restaurant was packed on a Sunday night. The clientele seemed a bit older. Maybe they all congregated there after a function, or it was a discounted night. Either way, it was busy. The food was not ready so I waited at the cashier stand awhile. The decor is kitschy and the restaurant a bit run down. The woman running the register seemed to have the process under control. After a 5-10 minute wait we were off with our food, only to be disappointed when taking off the lids. The portions were small and the food was not very tasty. The flavors were not robust and fresh like I am used to of the Mexican food in this area, and we have tried a number of places in O'side. Our food was just blah. It could have been an off night due to the crowd in the restaurant, but nothing that we ordered warranted a second chance. I had the chicken Nachos and my spouse had a combo meal that came with rice and beans. Definitely a matter of personal taste, but we won't be back. I will say that the customer service was very good and staff was friendly. read more

Yummy tacos! We tried the ground beef tacos to go and they were great. Crunchy tacos and delicious ground beef. Definitely check out if you are in the area, they are also close to the freeway if you need a place to stop if you're coming from San Diego to LA or more north. read more

The corn tortillas and salsas are the best part. Here's my biggest opinion - 5. Veggie tacos should already come with beans! Why are vegetarians paying the same price for a carne asada taco and we still have to request beans (and cheese) to be charged $1.50? Kinda crazy. 6. Don't bother with the veggie mulita. The veggies just fall out because they're so juicy so it's hard to eat and you end up eating it like a taco anyway (with no guac). Their Baja lager is a great beer though. I'd pick up a 6-pack of their Mexican lager for sure.

Kind of happy not too many people know about this place but...oh well here goes. This place is outstanding! Everything is wonderful and flavorful. My favorite is the chile verde burrito which I want to try with the tomatillo sauce (normally comes with a mix of the red and tomatillo which is excellent) but I keep forgetting. The salsa is fresh and delicious but maybe could use a little extra price. I'm sure if I ask they will accommodate because the service is great but it is good as is. This is the only reasonably priced, hole in the wall, quality sit down Mexican restaurant in San Diego county that I know of. Our area is littered with fast food taco shops and corporate Mexican crap which makes this place and even better find:) Yum! read more

I would rate this a SOLID 4...maybe a four and a half. I have dreams about their chili verde burrito, an I'm not kidding. I would like to say I have tried other stuff from them but I cant. I do plan on going back to try their other stuff, but it's going to be difficult knowing that I'm there and not ordering my beloved burrito. My only complaint is the slow service. They are very sweet, but plan on waiting a little longer for pretty much everything- drinks, food, the check, etc... But if you don't mind just stopping by and having a nice slow leisurely meal, and you love great Mexican, then this is your place. read more

This is a great restaurant with some good food. The food is made fresh to order. I love there enchiladas, there is a lot of flavor in them. They make great chill reyenos, like mom use to make.
