This is close to our house, and a sure value for a good meal. Extraordinary it is not, but consistent quality at an affordable price is a good way to stay in business. We have been going there for 8 years now, went through the pandemic and the space downsize, and we still enjoy it when we want our quick Mexican food fix without the drive and complexity. They have a dish though that I really like and that I have not seen on any other menu anywhere: pescado relleno. A crab and shrimp with fished fried in the traditional egg white batter of a chile relleno. The staff is welcoming and friendly, many regulars. Good chips and salsa to get you started for free is always a good thing.

Still coming here semi-regularly, 16 years after my first review!! Lovely owners have had it rough between Covid and some health issues. Lots of love to Anjelina (unsure of the right spelling, sorry!) and Norma. Tortillas are still fresh and delicious. On this trip we went for some basics - cheese enchiladas plate and chicken fajitas, both of which we shared. Nothing ground breaking, but it hit the spot.

This place was good. The menudo had a different flavor to me. But I understand that different parts of Mexico season their menudo differently. It wasn't bad. But I like my menudo to have a stronger broth flavor. The best thing I ate was the TAMAL DE OAXACA! The mole had a good flavor. I love my mole to have a sweeter taste to it. And this tamale had it. I loved it. I would definitely go back and get his tamale. I would love to come back try their other dishes.

Absolutely delicious. What a charming place. Friendly and fast service. Amazing food. I'm going to struggle to find anything to even come close in my hometown. I'm definitely going to miss the amazing food offered in the region.

Our go-to Mexican joint is Ceja's, but living in Oceanside, we have several other restaurants around us and it was high time that we tried them. Fiesta Mexicana is a small corner family owned Mexican restaurant located in the MarketPlace Del Rio shopping area near Stater Bros grocery and Killer Pizza From Mars. They have ample parking and huge windows so you can see just how busy they are at any given time. They have two doors, but we walked in the door that was open - the main entrance. Today they were quite busy on a Sunday for lunch but we managed to get a table. Chair are padded and they do have booths as well. After ordering we got the complimentary chips & salsa. Their red salsa is OUTSTANDING. We even ordered some to-go after we ate. They also have a much hotter green salsa. We ordered: * Tampiquena de Res * Carne Asada Burrito * Carne Asada Sopes * Horchata * Jamaica * Negra Modelo The bottled Negra Model came with a frosted mug too which was a nice touch. The Tampiquena de Res was essentially a "bistek tampiquena", or carne asada steak, topped with pico. It came with rice & beans, and also a Mole Enchilada. The mole was a little sweet, and the steak was a little more done than I typically like, however both tasted good. The plate also came with fresh and piping hot tortillas. My wife ordered the Carne Asada Sopes and we were surprised that it came with two sopes. She could barely finish one of them. My daughter ordered the burrito with rice & beans. Everyone liked their food. I actually finished my whole plate which is something I rarely do. My only gripe was I asked for a drink menu, but they didn't have one? I asked if they had beer and our server listed the different options. It would be much easier just to look at a menu, so for this I had to dock a star. Maybe our server didn't realize they had a drink menu, I'm not sure. Now I learn they had margaritas too! #ugh Service was excellent. When the salsa was getting low, they instantly put a new bowl on the table. We went through two baskets of chips since the salsa was THAT good. Overall, everything was quite good. With the exception of the drink menu issue, Fiesta Mexicana is a solid choice for Mexican food in this area. Next time I will have a marg

I love this place. The food truly tastes homemade, the atmosphere is cute and charming, and the staff are so sweet and friendly. Stuck at work across the street with a head cold, so this time I came in for some soup. Felt better from the first spoonful. Everything I've had here has been absolutely delicious.

Excellent food and service and the best tamales that I have in years. Large parking lot and so parking is not an issue.

It's a true family-style operation--one owner personally takes your order while the other is in the kitchen cooking everything fresh, and you can taste that attention to detail in every bite. The food is outstanding--full of flavor, generous portions, and very reasonably priced. It's the kind of place where you know you're getting authentic, homemade quality, not something rushed or generic. On top of that, the service is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself is clean and well-kept. It's rare to find a spot that checks all the boxes like this. If you're anywhere nearby and even thinking about Mexican food--do yourself a favor and come try Mi Asador. You'll be glad you did!

Since then we've been visiting other burrito places, but decided to give them another shot. We were pleasantly surprised to see things were "back to normal". Burritos were big again and the salsa bar was back. Chips were no longer free (I remember they used to be a long time ago), but no biggie. We were just picked up to-go. The burritos were good. Not great, necessarily, but good and the prices are some of the best around. They have a ton of options, and lots of drinks, including beer. We were just picking up, and it was a very hot day. The restaurant didn't have any air-conditioning so it was quite warm inside. Most people were eating outside. We'll be back again to try some other menu items given that their prices are generally pretty good.

Came in for an early dinner and to try this place out. Have heard many things via social media…read more For starters, we got complimentary chips & salsa. The salsa was good IMO, though the rest of the table thought it was too spicy. For drinks we chose a Mexican Candy ($15) and Hibiscus Margarita ($14). They were okay. I think not really worth the price (barely any buzz). I'll probably stick with a beer next time but that's okay. For food, we ordered the Chile Relleno & Cheese Enchilada ($20), Queso Birria Taco Plate ($18) and for me, the Fajita Mixta ($26). Everyone liked their food. For me, I've had better fajitas elsewhere (Mariscos Hualtulco is my fav) but these were still good (except no green bell pepper for some reason). I noticed the *new* menu price for the fajitas was $29 (Mixta), but on the bill it was still $26 (old menu price). So be aware, the new price is coming obviously. I want to try the Molcajete but $38 is a stretch! Atmosphere was okay. It was a Saturday and although it was early, I expected a more vibrant feel, but maybe that comes later in the night. There was plenty of seating. Parking was okay, but the lot was oddly packed however even though the restaurant was not. I would come back to try something else on the menu, but with so many great Mexican options in our area, they need that extra something to attract more patrons. A happy hour with $10 margs for starters would be nice.

This is by far one of my favorite places for Mexican food in SoCal. As a Cali Native now living in…read morethe great state of Texas, sometimes it's refreshing to step outside the land of Tex‑Mex and get the real deal again. Colima's hits that spot every single time. When you walk in, the person behind the counter greets you immediately -- and not the dry "hi, what can I get you?" type of greeting. You get a full "¡Buenos días, mija!" with that warm, almost‑grito energy that makes you feel like you just walked into your tío's spot instead of a restaurant. Super friendly, super natural, and very SoCal. I ordered the rolled tacos plate and wow... esa porción estaba gigante. I couldn't finish it. What I loved most was the meat; this is what meat is supposed to taste like. The beef was seasoned the way we grew up eating it: a little salty, a little savory, with that slow‑cooked tenderness that lets you know it didn't come from some pre‑bagged, mystery‑meat situation. You get hints of garlic, a little cumin, and that warm, almost toasty flavor that comes from meat that's actually been browned, not steamed. It tasted like someone's abuela was in the back saying, "No, no, déjalo dorar un poquito más. And the corn tortillas? Perfect. Thin enough to get that crisp roll, thick enough not to shatter. None of that flour‑tortilla‑trying‑to‑be‑crispy nonsense. These were crunchy, flavorful, and loaded. The toppings were just as good. The guacamole tasted fresh. You could taste the real avocado which was creamy, a little chunky, with lime that actually tasted like lime and not concentrate. The red salsa had a legit kick to it. It had hints of roasted chiles, was smoky and had a slightly bitter edge that tells you they actually roasted them instead of just tossing raw peppers into a blender. It wasn't tourist spicy; it was SoCal Mexican‑restaurant spicy, which is a whole different category. My partner ordered a breakfast burrito and honestly? That thing could've fed three people. It was massive, stuffed to the brim with cheese, egg, potatoes, and fresh bacon and exactly what a SoCal breakfast burrito should be: simple, hearty, and no shortcuts. Between the portions, the flavor, and the service that feels like home, this spot stays on my list every time I'm in Oceanside. If you're craving real Mexican food and not Tex‑Mex, pull up. You'll leave full and happy. #supportlocal
