A cute little casual French place for crepes, quiches and sandwiches. It looks like it is run by just one or two people so the service is a bit slow for dinner. Nice ambience, crappy service. Went there on a Saturday around 11 and there's only 1 server who takes a while to get our orders. Definitely pricey for what you get. I ordered a bowl of soup $5.99, did not come with bread and a roll costs $2.25 if I want it. Fresh squeezed orange juice is nice, but also costs $5 for a small glass. We been here 4 times in 8 years and we've never been disappointed. Never bowled over either, but satisfied each time. We went today for lunch and noticed the new furniture people have complained about b/c of its Ikea quality...but we liked that better than the old, awkward, heavy iron furniture which was really meant for the outdoors. This is a better alternative, though, again, nothing to rave about. At this place, we really don't expect a parisian replica, that'd be pathetic. But, sure enough, many of the food choices as well as the over head music are French. As we finished our meal today we wondered where else in the county we could pop in for a brunch and eat tasty crepes and a lamb sandwich? Answer: nowhere. I'm glad this place is here and will try to go there more. And yes, the service has always been bad. Ever go to a Paris Cafe? Yeah, like that, so no biggie. There's never been a time when we haven't had to get up from our table and ask for something like water or the bill or something like that. We really don't care and they don't either. Very enjoyable dinner. The French onion soup was yummy and the asparagus and crab soup good. Not over salted. Dinner was also very good. I had beef bourguignon and husband enjoyed the lamb very much. We had a crepe for desert. It was excellent. Prices were good also. We will be back. read more

Food was great, service was sluggish considering there was one other customer. But the lamb sandwich was good but what was better was the salmon sandwich. The bad reviews on this place are surprising--they unfortunately held us back from trying it since we moved to Cranford, about a year and a half ago. What a mistake! We went last night (Saturday) and it was quite busy around 8pm. We brought our own wine and our bill came to $50 after soups, quiche and gallete, plus dessert crepe and coffees. It was all delicious! The cappuccino is a stand-out, as is the homemade berry sauce on the crepe. The spinach/goat cheese quiche and onion soup were quite tasty. A solid meal--I will say we were feeling healthy and only had vegetarian dishes, so cannot speak for any of the meat ones. read more

My husband and I have been to France and had not had a crepe or a galette as good as these. There are many fillings to choose from and a choice of sides. We took our 23yo nephew here and he loved it, and I've seen children enjoying the food as well. It's nice to have outdoor seating as an option . My husband really likes the onion soup but don't order it if you're expecting lots of cheese- this soup is a lighter version. I think if you try this restaurant you'll like it. read more

My boyfriend and I eat dinner here 2-3 times per month. We start out with egg rolls and soup; either the French onion or the asparagus-crab soup SO GOOD!!!. For our main course we enjoy either the steak sandwich, veggie burger, tuna which is so fresh or my personal favorite, smoked salmon with goat cheese. (I am salivating just thinking about it). You can have either of them served with fries or mixed greens, and also the option to have your sandwich on a fresh croissant. YUM!!! Ate at Café Paris when it first opened and swore I would never go back. Well, I went back tonight, and it was just as bad as my first two experiences..........and more expensive. My fancy Panini-type sandwich was served on cold white bread, missing two of the ingredients, and was more bread then sandwich ingredients. The waitress did not come over to our table even once to check how we were doing. She was not the least apologetic when I expressed my disappointment in the quality of the meal. Cannot believe this place is still around. We both got soup. I got a "bowl" and my partner got a cup. The cup was virtually the same size as bowl! I wouldn't even call it a bowl. The croissants were stale. You would think it would be fresh in a French restaurant. Service is terrible and prices high. read more

This is a cute cafe in downtown Cranford perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a lite dinner. My wife and I went for dinner and both ordered sandwiches. She ordered 'Au Boeuf Roti '(Roast beef, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, tomatoes and olive oil) and I had 'A L' Aubergine' (Grilled egg-plant, Portobello mushrooms and fresh mozzarella cheese). Both sandwiches were simply and deliciously prepared on a lightly toasted baguette roll. I would like to try their omelettes,quiche, and crepes, so we will definitely be back. read more

The owner of Cafe Paris achieved that motivation into providing the exquisite french classic atmoshere for the residence of Cranford. I am French. I just find it so funny, all the reviews made by American people who either love the place because it looks soooooooo French (actually it doesn't look French at all and the wall paintings are just so kitch), or don't like it because it's overpriced for what it's really worth in terms of food. Well, i don't think it is that much overpriced, it's normal pricy... but still i do think the food is so-so. Those crepes are actually made in the French tradition (everyone makes its own crepes back there so you have 60 millions of crepes receipes), they are not the best but not the worst either...i've experienced worse in Paris for instance. But when you go to such a place you don't want to take a wrap or a sandwich, gosh only Americans think this is a real meal. Anything with bread around is NOT a proper meal, it's just a snack or a lunch when you want to go fast and go back to work or eat in front of your screen. Croque-Monsieur, well why not... that's what i do when i want to cook quickly but warm... at least make it a croque-madame by adding an egg on it ! Try sonething more adventurous, the menu has some dishes that look real French, even if i dont think this is the best place to give you a great idea of how wonderful French cuisine can be Salmon stuffed with crab meat may be good but i bet you can't find something like that in France... The service ad people there are really nice and accomodating You don't go there to try a fancy restaurant, cause it's not fancy and does not pretend to be! You go there because it's not too much expansive but it can be exotic if you dare ordering the right dish... so just dare it ! I am appalled by the service in this cafe. The worst experience I ever had. The food, butternutsquash soup and a pea soup were absolutely tasteless. Cappucino coffee was served almost at the same time as soup, before my entree. THE CUP THE COFFEE WAS SERVED IN HAD LIPSTICK ON IT. At this point I decided I was done with this place and asked for the bill. Not only was I charged for the coffee I had sent back in a dirty cup, but I had to listen to the insults of the waitress/cashier. She was completely unapologetic about the situation, and demanded my name to blacklist me from the restaurant (which you can bet I would NEVER return to). Unfortunately I was so dumbfounded by her response, I did not ask for her name. I cannot imagine what kind of owner would run a business by insulting its customers.
