It's a small shop but these waffles are full of flavor!! A friend and I tried the patty melt waffle and the peach waffle. They both were so good we went back a couple days later to try them again. This place is a small gem in the middle of construction on 8th street. I've had their waffles a chicken wrap and smoothie all of them were perfect . The service was fast. I took my self here for a quick solo date. This was the perfect place to not feel alone and still enjoy yourself. It's clean inviting, and chic. The accept Apple Pay as well . This is truly a case of the food being so good that I forgot to take pics. I got the low country and it was simply delicious. I'd never thought to put shrimp and grits with a waffle, but it's perfect. I also got the peach cobbler and COE Omelette for my brother. "I was excited to try Cafe on Eighth based on the positive pictures and reviews. I really wanted to like this place. However, I was surprised to find out that you don't order at your table, which made the experience awkward. Given their dining area, it would be more efficient if they seated customers and used the register primarily for 'to-go' orders. We ended up waiting in line for at least 30 minutes, and even after ordering, some of our food was mistakenly given to another table. There seemed to be issues with the waitress's ability to read tickets, in all seriousness, we believe she had problems with her vision. She seemed to struggle reading the tickets, which delayed service further and led to our food being given to the table next to us. When I requested decaf coffee due to caffeine sensitivity, it took over 20 minutes before I had to ask a server to check on it, which appeared to annoy her. Eventually, I received my decaf coffee, but not before a mix-up with regular coffee. Despite waiting atleast 30 minutes to order and another 45 minutes for our food, the waffles were enjoyable, though not worth the extended wait. read more

SO happy that this place is open! It's a fantastic addition to the area and it's such a different concept to have! Savory and sweet waffles, omelets, and coffee! The chef and co chef were great when I went this morning. The food was hot and very fresh. There was so much flavor. I have nothing but good things to say. Once more people know about this place there won't be as much seating but I feel like that's a good problem to have. I went downtown yesterday and on a whim deciding I wanted to have breakfast. I'm not a big waffle fan but the place looked cute from the outside. The inside did not disappoint, a cute coffee shop. They have a different array of waffles from the typical fare to the more exotic chicken and collard green waffle. I decided to order the bacon and cheese waffle omelet, or womelet for short. It was made to order and well-seasoned. It also came with a side of a very tasty aoli. I definitely would order it again. I also ordered a their signature smoothie. My sister and I had the pleasure of having brunch at Cafe on 8th in Augusta, Georgia. We both ordered shrimp and grits and shared an omelette. When our order arrived, I said there must be a mistake, we didn't order waffles--duh--this was a waffle cafe! The grits were cooked in the waffle iron, and so was the omelette! The shrimp and a "cajuny," creole, southern gravy were poured over the waffle for a savory indulgence that can only be described as hmmmm yummy! After my first bite, I wanted to jump up and do the good foot When the owner, Dallas Hooks, asked us if everything was ok, I wanted to give him and his Chef, Jerome Kenly, a big hug; instead we asked for their autograph and pictures. I will say, as of 5/5/24 at least, the online menu is not the same as the one they give you. It has slightly different options and the prices are higher.
