Everything on the plate was well seasoned, good amount of pulled pork, and eggs were perfect. We didn't see seat with some shadow outsi so we were seated inside at the end, and it was a bit dark. I ordered a Delmar crepe and my husband a breakfast combo with French toast and scrambled eggs. I won't go into too much detail about what she did for us as I don't want to set unrealistic expectations for anyone visiting, but she really did us a kind favor. Beautiful day to hang out in Berkeley today. Restaurant was packed, but we got a table within 30 minutes or so. Unfortunately all the outdoor tables were full, so we had to eat inside. Great fast and friendly service. We had 2 Crab Cake Crepes, Corn Beef Hash and Huevo Rancheros. Also had OJ Mimosa and Spiked Lemonade. This restaurant is cute but our food and service was a bit mid. I got the corned beef hash and some of it was really dry. My friend got a sandwich and she didn't seem to enjoy it. My other friend got the wet burrito and really liked it. My boyfriend got a sandwich and he thought it was just okay. Another friend just got fries and they were good. The service wasn't bad, it was okay but nothing super special. We also didn't realize there was a gratuity charge on parties of 5 or more. Cafe M is one of my favorite brunch spots in the East Bay! I've been here twice now and used the yelp waitlist option to minimize the waiting time. I didn't have to wait any longer than 10 minutes. I've tried the corned beef hash, Del Mar crepe, coconut French toast, combo breakfast with banana pancakes, and huevos rancheros. The dishes are on the heavier side, but they're delicious! The Del Mar crepe came with way too much hollandaise sauce but it's easy to swipe off with a knife. I have the biggest sweet tooth and thought the French toast and pancakes were amazing! Definitely order some to share. Parking isn't the easiest as it's right next to 4th street but I've never had to look for more than 5 minutes before finding a free spot. Came here after a long conference weekend. I really enjoyed the Benedict that I ordered. All items came hot, fresh and fast. Actually food came before my Gingerbread Latte. My husband liked the flavor of the crepe. This restaurant had a cute patio as well as plenty of sitting inside. We sat outside as it was a beautiful day. Only issue is that we were told to pick any table outside then one minute later asked to move. Original table provided more sunlight to keep us warm that early in the morning.I did feel slightly rushed here and so that was bummer. I get that more people you serve, the more money you make but there was really no need to rush us out. Met up with a friend for brunch here since she was in the area. I've had this place bookmarked for what seems like a century, and I was so excited to finally cross it off my list. I had called beforehand to ask what the corkage fee was, and the gentleman on the phone told me it was $10 which was reasonable. I decided to bring a bottle of Rosé to enjoy with our brunch. We arrived around 12:30 (well... I did because I'm always running late!), and the host sat us inside. The ambience and setup here is actually really nice. It's got high ceilings and tons of natural light inside, and a busy but comfortable looking outdoor patio. Service started out pretty good when we first arrived. We ordered the eggs Juneau and the Del Mar crepe and they corked our bottle of wine for us. I found it odd that they didn't have an ice bucket to chill our wine bottle in, but they were nice enough to keep the bottle in the fridge for us until we were ready for our next pour. It's a brunch spot, so I figure that not many people bring bottles of wine here and maybe that's why they didn't have an ice bucket?! Our food arrived and presentation-wise, it looked great. My friend really enjoyed the egg Juneau and I liked the little portion of it that I tried. However my Del Mar crepe was a different story. It wasn't horrible, but it damn sure wasn't the best. First of all, the crepe was quite thick which made it pretty dry. It was filled with way too much spinach and the crab cake didn't taste fresh. It had that frozen crab cake aftertaste that I couldn't get out of my mouth even after chewing gum and having ice cream right after. The potatoes were cut very weirdly, almost like a scalloped potato. I really hate when brunch places cut up potatoes like this because it always seems to retain a ton of oil and some of the potatoes are cooked to a crisp while others remain soggy. That was exactly the case with these potatoes. They were very greasy, and I basically picked through the crispy parts and doused it in ketchup to eat them. One thing I can say is that the portions are pretty large. We both ended up taking boxes home, but unfortunately my leftovers didn't reheat well and ended up at the bottom of the trash can. For a breakfast plate that costed damn near $20, I expected so much more. It was honestly a waste of money. Despite this, I was still enjoying my time catching up with my friend. That was, until the bill came. I noticed that they charged us $20 for the corkage fee instead of the $10 that they told me over the phone. When Sabrina came back over, I politely explained that I was told the corkage fee was $10 when I called earlier that morning. She then rudely muttered "I don't know. I just pressed a button and it said $20." Um WTF??? What kind of response is that? I refrained from giving her a piece of my mind and she walked off. Honestly, I was just gonna pay it and leave because I didn't wanna deal with more of her attitude. My friend told me that we should ask the manager to honor it since it was their mistake for misquoting. When Sabrina came back, we asked her if she could ask her manager to honor the $10 corkage fee that we were initially quoted. This broad gave us a dirty look, snatched the receipt, and walked off without even saying anything. How f*cking RUUUDE!!! First off, who the f*ck is going to pay $20 to cork a bottle of wine at a brunch place in Berkeley?? Had I known is was gonna be $20, I probably wouldn't have even brought it. The damn bottle of wine costed $25!! Why would I pay that much for you to open the f*cking bottle AND you don't even have a f*cking ice bucket to chill my sh*t in??? I was happy that management honored the $10 corkage fee, but homegirl continued to have a nasty ass attitude. When she came back to the table she made another nasty remark about how "in the future, the corkage fee will be $20". Well no sh*t!!! And guess what?! There ain't gonna be no "future" visits from me because I won't be dealing with anymore nasty attitudes from here. Honestly, the terrible customer service from ONE single staff member ruined everything for me. A word of advice to management: I appreciate that you honored the $10 corkage fee, but please make sure that ALL of your staff is properly trained on all menu prices/fees AND good customer service. The portion is huge and it's served with shredded pork, which was a little different for me but it was quite tasty. We had lattes and pomegranate mimosas. I love the pomegranate option. That's usually my go to flavor for drinks which makes it a little tart and not as sweet as other options. I'd definitely go back! According to the review we made sure that we ordered the stuffed french toast since all yelpers were raving about how delish they were! & like they say.... it's a MUST try! they are so yummy and filled with some mascarpone or some sweet cream. I was in the mood for a benedict so I ordered the crab cakes benedict which was so savory and flavorful, while my bff ordered the del mar crepe. Which was also yummy! I can say this place is worth the wait! but then again the host said it was 30-40 mins but we walked over to the peets coffee had a coffee and waited on their benches close by till our time came about 25 mins later. Cafe M hit the mark for breakfast this morning! My friend and I were in West Berkeley to look at apartments. We arrived early so we could grab a bite to eat. I'd looked on Yelp, but there were so many options. We parked by the apartments and decided to walk down Fourth Street. Cafe M was on my radar, but we were open to almost anything. We landed at Cafe M around 10. There was plenty of seating and we opted to sit outside. Everyone on the staff was exceptionally nice. I ordered the Homemade Corned Beef Hash. My friend ordered the Crab Cake Benedict. The corned beef hash was excellent! First, there was a LOT of food, so be aware. It was a lot for me and I can eat. My guess is many people would be challenged to clean the plate. This is not a bad thing. The beef was plentiful and tender. A bite of the meat on its on was juicy and full of flavor. Add red peppers, onions, tomatoes, potatoes and two poached eggs and you've got one heck of a tasty meal. Christiemarie enjoyed the Crab Cake Benedict. Water was regularly refilled. The atmosphere at this place was so great. They are so organized. You can get on the waiting your phone or sign in on an iPad when you get there. It's the first time I have eaten inside a restaurant in a year in a half. I really missed doing this. There is tons of outdoor seating also. The menu hasn't changed, but for some reason the food is not as exceptional as I've had in the past. We were in Berkeley looking for a place to have Sunday brunch and this place popped up on our yelp,it was funny because I had already had a bookmark so I was very excited to go. When we came it was pretty busy, our wait was about 45 minutes so we went and took a stroll around, it was a cozy little street with a bunch of different stores to go into so we didn't really mind. After I tasted his because his came first I went ahead and bumped it up to a Mimosa and it was OK, i've had better. I ordered the basic breakfast with chicken apple sausage eggs potatoes and sourdough bread. Everything was pretty good I just felt like the potatoes had a very weird taste to it so I didn't really enjoy those as much as everything else. My husband ordered the pancakes and eggs and sausage which he ended up trading in for the bacon because it was just a small round piece of sausage and didn't taste that good to him. When they did bring us the bacon though, it was a lot of bacon so we were very appreciative. Our waitress was very sweet and kind she complemented me a few times and I thought that was very nice. It was pretty busy so she couldn't pay us enough attention so we caught our self having to work to get the things that we needed, nevertheless it is a great place to have brunch.
