You walk in the door and immediately mouth watering. The decor is also cute. Lots of fun art and images on the walls. The food itself is so good. I always love samplers at Ethiopian restaurants, so I can try a bit of a few different things. Mesob's Veggie Sampler was fantastic. 8 different veggie dishes to try and loads of injera to eat it with. My favorite was the shira (not shockingly), but all of the dishes were good and a very good mix. The sampler also lasted me about 4 meals! Very good bang for your buck!

Normally, daily Ethiopian food that's not in the US are vegan, so what is offered here is closer to what's authentically made in Ethiopian culture. I enjoyed pretty much all the dishes I had, and I would recommend this spot to anyone who wants good vegan food. My friends had the awaze tibs, which contained seitan, a high protein meat substitute, and it was seasoned very well, having an adequate amount of spice. I ordered the mushroom tibs, and it was okay, because it tasted as if the only seasoning was salt, and it was a bit dry, which indicated that the mushrooms were overcooked. In addition to such, we had a few veggies on the samplers, including miser, ater kik, gomen, fasolia, and keysir. They all had a good amount of seasoning and in general tasted good with the injera. I would say, though, that they may have all needed a bit more mekelesha, because I have had more vibrant-tasting versions of all of those veggies elsewhere. One thing worth noting was that shiro wasn't one of the options for the veggie sampler, so I had to order a separate portion of shiro, since I considered it necessary when consuming Ethiopian food in general, and it tasted good, in a conventional manner. It seems like per the menu that they have a shiro wot now, which indicates how popular it is among customers.

When we got home, we didn't have any of the things we had ordered. They gave us just a bunch of chopped lettuce with injera. One of the three boxes that they gave us had legitimate food in it, but it was a bunch of chicken bones and almost no meat and it was virtually no food. We felt totally ripped off like we had been completely taken advantage of. So I would never go to this place ever again and I would be really thoughtful about everything considering going to this place. They deliberately ripped us off and we feel really pissed off about it.
