I love this place! I came with my partner to the round rock location and immediately loved the vibe of the place. It's very austiny. We didn't have to wait for a table probably bc it was super early on a Friday morning. There's lunch and breakfast available. Food came out fast. I got the California omelet which came with hash browns and biscuit. Omelet took up half the plate. The portions are big and hearty. There's nothing not to love about this greasy spoon. The last few times I went to the round rock kerbey lane, I left disappointment with the food and the service, so I'm glad to find a replacement. Of all the brunch sit down places in Pflugerville area, this is my new favorite, at a close tie with first watch. Although, First watch definitely has more healthy options (oatmeal, chia bowls, smoothie bowls...ect) vs cafe java where I didn't see anything healthy on the menu. Such a good place to grab breakfast with friends and family. It's a local spot which is always popping with take out orders as well as a wait line outside the building. When you're on the waitlist, getting seated is usually really fast. Wouldn't want to grab seasonal pancakes and waffles from anywhere else! read more

I have been going here to eat for years and I have never had any significant issues. But recently they have severely lowered my expectations. On multiple occasions I have called ahead and placed my order just to walk all the way there and get a completely different order without notice, even though I specifically asked the person who took my order over the phone if I can get certain substitutions and they have said yes. Today I decided to sit down and eat. I ordered The Java; it comes with 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, hash browns and toast. It came out in a timely manner, but I barely got 2 pieces of bacon. I noticed that there were no hash browns on my plate, but instead plain diced potatoes. I asked my server what they were and she said they are "home fries" since their vendor no longer supplied them with the usual hash browns. That's okay with me I understand that things happen that they can't control, but like why not at least say something before I order that. I am expecting what I see in the picture, not something completely different unless I request so. I took the potatoes to-go. When I got home to eat them, they were undercooked. It didn't even seem like they touched a hot pan. It's like they were just tossed in oil. Getting "home fries" instead of hash browns was one thing, but for them to be undercooked is so infuriating. Like why would you replace a side with something nasty. I am so disappointed. The staff is always very nice and super friendly, so that's good at least. read more

I Love this place, I hate this place I HATE this place... The food is always ten-out-of-ten. But the whole business model is dizzying. Disorganized chaos is the name of their game. Tiny waiting area with 50 people waiting. Have to wait in line to write your name on a clipboard (if you haven't been here it'd be easy to stand their waiting to be greeted without knowing that you need to write your own name down). When it's time to leave.. you have to go back to the tiny waiting area to get in line to pay. The person taking your money is also the person doing the to-go orders. Best Breakfast in Round Rock!! The hubby and I set out to find the best breakfast place in the north Austin area. After many misses, we finally found it. Cafe Java does everything right. The coffee was excellent and hot (apparently not easy for a breakfast place...who'd have guessed). The service was fast, friendly and attentive. But the best part? Great food!! I asked for eggs scrambled well and got perfect eggs. Bacon was thick cut and excellent. Pancakes were some of the best I've ever had. Best breakfast place to go hands down. The breakfast tacos are amazing and if you ask for potato instead of egg, they use hash browns. Yum!! The queso here is my favorite in the area and I also put this on my tacos. The bacon has an awesome smoky flavor and is always cooked to perfection. My husband had pancakes, sausage & bacon, all were looked perfectly, pancakes light and delicious. I had the corn beef hash platter, ate every bite and enjoyed every bite. The place is popular so there is a bit of a wait but their service is so good they get you in and out, somehow wouldn't making you feel rushed. Every single employee is friendly & helpful. We have been eating at Java Cafe in Round Rock for many years. This morning was the first time we had less than expected wait staff service. Once our order was taken, the wait person disappeared never to be seen again until it was time to pay. No checking to see if our order was correct, no refresh coffee, no anything. I could see other tables experiencing the same lack of service in this wait person's area while the wait person was behind the counter gossiping. When we arrived we were sat with no menus or silverware. Our waitress was not attentive and was offensive right out the gate. This was our first time at this establishment and will probably be the last. She didn't know the menu and was confused by the questions I had about the plates. It is totally amazing to live within 5 minutes of Cafe Java. It is my go-to breakfast/brunch place on the weekend. Everything that I have ordered has been awesome. We have had the Migas, fruit pancakes, hash browns, omelettes, tacos and chorizo(not at the same time of course). I highly recommend the migas, chorizo and fruit pancakes. Their bacon is quite amazing as well, but who can really go wrong with bacon. Service has really been an issue here. The wait-times are very long during the weekend probably starting at 9:30-10am. And there really isn't a good place to wait so people are either squished inside or wandering around outside. For my wife and I, the solution has been ordering the food to-go and just bringing it back to the house. Its an easy fix and we still get to enjoy the excellent food from Cafe Java. read more

This place is up & and down. Today, I went by myself like always. The rude waitress assumed it was two people and was very ugly through the whole meal. It took 7 minutes to get my drink order. I ordered my food, and boom, not a minute went by, and my food was served. She took my syrup without asking and told I needed it. The cashier guy was rude and busy on his phone. My Fiancee and I finally (after 8 months) found our new breakfast place! We have tried many since moving here, but had yet to find Good service, good food, and most of good coffee! This place had all three! But, since they are that good, expect a little bit of wait on the weekends. We waited about 15 minutes around 8am on Sunday. But, wellllllllllllllll worth the wait! My Fiancee got the special, the Carnitas omelet. When we think of "carnitas", we think of "shredded" pork. This had big chunks of pork, inside the omelet, which was a little strange. What made the omelet was the salsa verde on top. I go the country omelet. I has sausage, cheese, and hash browns IN the omelet (which, I forgot ,and hot hash browns on the side to, oh well). The hash browns on both of our plates, were cooked perfectly! Nice and crispy, but not burnt! The best part is their coffee! My Fiancee just had regular coffee, which I chastised him for, considering they have so many options (way more then most breakfast places). I got a large (and it is large, in glass mug) latte! Ohhhh, so good! Will try other flavors next time, but even just their basic was very good! Drank every last drop! Only knock I would give them, is their toast was more soft then toasted. And, when asked for extra butter, they brought out two little sealed things of Promise Margarine. Come on, please get some REAL butter! Other then that, we had great service, my Fiancee got many coffee refills, we got our food fast (unlike some places locally), and they kept checking up on us to see how we were doing (again, some places, drop your food and you never seen them again).
