I am so glad I found this little gem that's tucked away less than 5-minutes from my dentist and ortho office! Now...I'm not sure if I was supposed to wait a certain amount of time before I ate after a cleaning...but I didn't! lol. I was so hungry and was in the mood for sushi. Being a big foodie as I am I love finding new restaurants to try and this was did not disappoint! Parking was easy they had some right in the front of the restaurant reserved for customers as well as a garage for more parking spaces if it got crowded. Walking inside it is a small cozy space and because I was by myself I was seated at the sushi bar. I told the sushi maker my food order and the waitress my order for wine. I tried the Merlot and Pinot noir which the merlot was so luscious I got another glass. So my order was fries shrimp shumai, Ile yellowtail combo which came with a yellow tail sashimi, spicy yellow tail roll I added cream cheese, and yellowtail nigiri. So fresh and so pretty how it came out! Aesthetically pleasing top notch! They gave me a few freebies seaweed salad and edamame and a side dish of pickled condiments very tasty. So being the big back that I am I ordered more to go and it was the Ile salmon combo and substituted spicy salmon roll with spicy tuna roll add cream cheese. I really loved how they package the to go order kept my sushi fresh until it the next day. I will definitely stop here again after the dentist...lol.
Such a cute little place tucked away in Tyson's. The food was great but a little on the pricey side. The double salmon roll was perfectly flavored and creamy with the sauce. And the service was great!
Unassuming Japanese spot very high quality sushi! Have a few appetizers and ramen dishes, but the vast majority of the menu is sush I came here for dinner on a Friday night with my fiance and we each got 2 different rolls and an edmame app. There was a lot of high quality sushi for the price of each, but the serving size of the edmame was very small. Small dish of complimentary corn soup Service was a little slow/it was a little hard to get their attention
What can I say? Bravo to the chef ! Honestly,this is my 5th or 6th time eating here and I hesitated to leave review,because it's difficult to admit that this small overpriced cafe/restaurant hidden in the middle of corporate Buildings,can be excellent. Well,you got my vote and my loyalty. Place itself is not impressive and service is nice,but not superb. So,I thought on 4 stars,but this food... Wasabi - made in the house,soy sauce- made in the house by chef recipes. Soy sauce is home made!!!! Thick ,complex,tangy and not salty,amazing!!! I ordered sashimi combo this time and it's served with not white lousy rice,but takikomi gohan( please try it). This is one of the most complex flavor combinations in rice I ever had. I felt dashi broth,mirin,tons of veggies and even beans. Sooo nicely served with fish cake flowers on top. Sashimi itself was outstanding,fish selection was excellent,with scallops,squid and freshest cuts of fishes. Previous times I tried rolls and it was amazing as well. So,prices are high, this is not sushi eatery where you can casually grab your lunch. But if you feel like you want artistic style and refined food,or just want to celebrate yourself,this one s the place to indulge and enjoy!
The location is pretty small and decor is outdated. There were chair cushions on the seats and i had to turn mine over before i sat down because it had stains on it. It was not crowded so we were seated right away. Fast and friendly service. They bring you edamame, seaweed salad and soup to start which is a great addition. We enjoyed our sushi, it was fresh and well cut. I didn't enjoy the small drop of Wasabi un between the rice and the fish in my nigiri. I would ask not to include that if i returned. The fatty tuna (Toro) was delicious, my favorite.
Such a cute and little hidden gem in the area! The service was quick and the employees were friendly and helpful. The fish was fresh and the ginger was delicious! I just wished there wasn't too much wasabi in the nigiri, but besides that everything else was great
TL;DR: 3.8/5: good value and decent flavors; friendly service Came here for a friend's birthday lunch and came around 1PM on a Saturday. The space is on the smaller size. There were several tables, and it was overall very nice and quiet. Interior is cute, but I think their original concept was supposed to include a coffee shop section, which seems like it has closed (?). There was only 1 server, and he was very nice, friendly, and attentive. Even though he was handling all the tables and running food on his own, he was quite attentive and quick. FOOD: ~Complimentary edamame and seaweed salad: can't mess it up ~Complimentary soup: It was like the Korean corn cream soup that I ate a lot when I was sick. A little too watered down for me ~Sashimi Combo C (4/5): comes with a variety of fish, some premium like chu-toro, ama ebi, and scallop. It seems like the fish was already lightly dressed with soy sauce. For $50 bucks, it was a great value. ~Takikomi gohan (4/5: personal preference): This came with the sashimi combo. When it first came out, I wasn't sure what to expect. When I ate it with the nori, it had a very strong yuzu flavor. I like yuzu in savory dishes, and this was very tasty. Tart and savory. But I can see many people not liking it. ~Spicy yellowtail roll (3/5): basic ~Super Dragon Roll (4/5): Comes with basically a whole slab of eel on the top. It had a lot of different things inside, but didn't taste too muddled ~Tonkotsu ramen (2.9/5): Broth was okay, but it could use some umph. Noodles were nice. Chasu had good flavor but was a little tough. Overall, the food, vibes, and service were decent. Cute date night spot for affordable sushi.
This was a recent discovery by my husband and we were so pleasantly surprised by how good the sushi was! Husband just took us here on a whim for a nice sushi meal and so glad we did. New fave sushi spot in the area. Cafe Ile is an unassuming cafe but the sushi is excellent. When you taste how fresh the fish is - you will know right away. We ordered the Chef's Island which has assorted Sashimi, Sushi, Grilled fish, super dragon roll, spicy tuna shrimp tempura roll and it was so good! Our teenage son was with us and helped us with this platter, although he also had a ramen bowl. We really enjoyed the delicious sushi and hope to be back soon! Everything tasted and looked amazing.
We were looking for a good sushi restaurant in the Tysons area and came across Cafe Ile and decided to give it a try because of its good rating. I have to say that I'm really shocked by the raving reviews of this place. We got the calamari as appetizer, sashimi combo A, and one of the signature roll combos. The calamari...WHAT IS THAT? This was $16 for a total of maybe 6-7 pieces of calamari on the plate with majority being onions and peppers. We felt extremely ripped off for $16. The sashimi combo was okay, but the tuna tasted a little off/bad and was mushy in a bad way. For the roll combo, I don't understand why they'd put two extremely similar rolls in a combination together (they were both shrimp tempura rolls), and the rolls kept falling apart as soon as we picked them up. Not nicely wrapped at all and was hard to eat because everything was falling apart. I feel like they spent majority of the time just decorating the plates. The only thing that was saving me from giving this place a 1 star was that the server lady was very nice. Other than that, this place seems extremely overpriced for the quality they offer.
Very impressed with the sushi here! The Dynamite roll, seared salmon roll, and 2 & 1 roll were delicious and the fish portion and quality were great. Atmosphere was cozy. There was only 1 server tending to the whole restaurant though, so had to wait a little longer to order and receive our food - was not a big deal though. Just something to note if you're thinking about coming here in a rush. Great place for a date night or bringing a group! Would recommend and come again.
Cafe Ile has been on my radar for quite some time now but you have to be in the mood for sushi as it doesn't have a wide selection of the typical Japanese dishes (which isn't a bad thing) but everyone in your party should probably be feeling sushi (they do have Ramen and several apps). If you specialize in sushi it must be good right? Yes, the sushi is on point here. We ordered the Chef's Island which offers up sushi, sashimi, rolls, and grilled fish designed to serve 2-3. It's definitely enough food for 2. They give you an assortment of different cuts of fish in addition to the standard tuna, salmon, yellowtail, etc. Good quality melt in your mouth sushi. The grilled fish is Ok..a bit on the dry side but the wife liked it. They also start off the meal with a small corn soup and seaweed/edamame salad which is gratis. One comment - the restaurant is on the small side and they had one server at dinner so be prepared to wait a bit longer as it definitely has a 'mom & pop' vibe with limited number of servers. Overall, very happy we tried Cafe Ile and we'll be back.
I love Cafe Ile! I always get the sashimi combo A which comes with a variety of high quality sashimi. They also give you free corn soup, seaweed salad and edamame to start the meal. The service is great and its a cute date spot! Highly recommend checking it out.

Pretty good sushi place! Typically order it to go but I will try to inside the restaurant to get the full experience. Even ordering it to go, the presentation is well done. The quality of the sushi and fish is also really good! I really like how they use fresh wasabi and it really compliments the sushi well! My favorite so far is the eel roll and there is so many flavors going on where you dont need soy sauce! Highly recommend! read more

What a cute little spot! Cafe and sushi under one roof. It's at the bottom of some corporate offices so you might miss it, but definitely worth checking out! The server was friendly and quick with helping us. I ordered the Ile roll and sashimi salad. Portion size is wild!!!! Thought the salad was a starter but honestly could've been my whole meal. There was so much sashimi in here and a nice variety! Ile crab roll was delicious and hearty. I will definitely be coming back here! The quality is amazing and the service is quick. Sushi was good quality, and like the interior of this spot. Felt nice and modern, different from other sushi spots I've been to. Wanted to try their omakase, but unfortunately wasn't available when I visited. Ended up getting a selection of other sushi. Docking a point because some of the pieces had massive amount of wasabi wrapped in, some of which are a bit watery and ended up causing the entire piece of sushi to taste like wasabi read more
Omg what a cute sushi spot! Went to pick my boyfriend up at work near Tyson's corner and wanted to grab some sushi for dinner, but wanted to avoid the conveyor sushi in Tyson's mall lol. Found this spot and was delightfully surprised! They have two parking spots out front but it looks like most just park in the garage. The staff is super friendly omg so nice. Because we didn't have a reservation, we sat at the sushi bar which was fun. Got to see them make all the sushi. The main sushi person gave us some samples along with our food which was great. Definitely recommend the shashimi salad, great Korean take on it. Also, my boyfriend enjoyed his dragon roll and we split a protein roll. All amazingly Will definitely be back! read more
You can really taste the difference in quality here versus other sushi restaurants. We tried the sashimi set which also came with fried rice- even though we shared one order, it was pretty filling and worth the price point. None of the sashimi pieces had a fishy taste to it and had a nice texture to it. It also came with little popping bobas that was actually really good with the sashimi! The set came with otoro AND chutoro and those pieces usually go for $10 a piece at other places. I do wish the sashimi cuts were a bit thicker but that is my usual preference! We also got the salmon appetizer which has a small sweet salad to go with it and it was also really good and a great start! The chefs were so nice and gave us a dish which had yuzu or citrusy undertones which we enjoyed as well! Friendly staff, intimate and cute restaurant. Easy side garage parking. As someone who is very picky with sushi quality. I would HIGHLY recommend cafe ile! This is on my top list for best sushi in NOVA! read more

We were looking for a quick bite to eat this evening and found Cafe Ile on Yelp. They opened 7 months ago and are located just across from the Boro. The restaurant is clean and inviting. The service phenomenal and everyone was really friendly. Their table service was great. They were very attentive and cleared dishes promptly to make room for more, topped off drinks, and regularly checked in to see if we were happy with each dish. Overall, it was a lovely experience and their presentation for each dish is on point. We started with the spicy sashimi salad. I was so excited to eat it I forgot to get a photo of it. Wow, it's large and there is a lot of quality sashimi. The dressing was a little tangy and spicy. The spice wasn't overpowering. My husband isn't big on spice and and he loved it. Next we ordered the tuna tadaki. The tuna was perfectly seared with jalapeño dressing. On top of the tuna was a fruity combo of pineapple and onion. It added the perfect balance and paired well with the tuna. The chef also brought us tuna with jalapeño, and cilantro. It was very tasty. For our main we shared the sushi combo with the roll. Wow, every piece of fish was so flavorful and fresh. There were about 10 pieces of nigiri total. To end our meal we shared the affogato dessert. The espresso gave us a pick me up and we enjoyed the sweet treat with the ice cream. We have spent a lot more at other places in the area and we both agree this is the best quality sushi we have found. They have Omakase by reservation Monday-Thursday at 5:30. Having tried many sushi places in the NOVA area, Cafe Ile is the one that I always come back and recommend to friends/family. Their sushi quality is unmatched and their rolls combos are great for the price. My go-to order is the Special Roll Combo: Tuna Double Roll and Spicy Salmon Shrimp Tempura Roll. Pictured is the B. option of the Plate Roll Combos. I've gotten take out from here a few times and it's always a quick/easy process. We went to Cafe Ile for wonderful date night! complementary plate of sides (corn/ edamame mix, seaweed salad, calamari, shredded nori, and a seaweed salad) 10/10 I got a sashimi combo. The fish is the almost the same sushi combo my fiancé got, but it was plated with a sauce on one side and sweet popping pearls on the other side. It also came with a plate of fried rice 9/10 as everything was good, but the fried rice wasn't super flavorful. The sushi combo does come with an extra roll and they do warm the rice in the nigiri 10/10 To finish it off we got a crème brûlée and it was really sweet, creamy, and balanced with the berries on top! The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and elegant. Great for a quiet fancy date night, but can fit anyone's budget. The service was great as the ladies who served us were patient, kind, and told us about the food. 11/10 and will be back again! read more
Dined with a group of three at Cafe Ile. The hostess was able to seat us without a reservation. We received a complimentary dish of edamame, Seaweed salad (delicious), nori, and octopus. I ordered the shishito peppers and absolutely loved it. It was nicely plated and included green beans, onions and peppers. I really enjoyed the spicy sushi entree, however the spicy California roll was a bit too spicy for me. My favorite roll was the eel that my husband ordered. We finished by sharing the crème brûlée which was made in house and was fantastic. We all really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back! read more

It was a wonderful dining experience until dessert came around and then the staff neglected us. They were super attentive until they started ignoring my boyfriend and I, and only focused on the other 3 customers in the tiny restaurant. We waited 30 min just to pay, and this was after we waited awhile for the check. After having to watch as our server paid attention to everyone but us, including new customers that just arrived, my boyfriend got up to the cash register to pay, and only then were they helpful. At this price point, and because the restaurant was basically empty near the end of the night, the service was not up to standard. The staff are super nice and friendly; they just need to improve on timing. We got the omakase, and the dishes were pretty good, but not worth the high price tag. The fish wasn't as silky or fresh as I would expect from an establishment like this, but I did like that they polish their silverware and seem to love what they do. The food presentation was gorgeous and unique. The ambiance was cute and the decor gave off a cozy and fresh atmosphere. I wanted to love Cafe Ile, but because they dropped the ball with service, I don't know if I would come back. Edit: Thanks for your comment, Jinny! Honestly a hidden gem in my book! A cafe by day, and a sushi restaurant by night. *Atmosphere: Super small, intimate restaurant! Tiny sushi bar. Beautiful modern interior, very warm and cozy :) *Food: The sushi and everything was definitely high quality and fresh, and beautifully presented. I was particularly surprised by the side dishes that was served alongside the appetizers. Almost the Japanese equivalent of the Korean banchan! For the appetizers, I really enjoyed the crispy nori with spicy tuna. For three people, we shared the Chef's Island, which was a beautiful assortment of fresh seafood, chef's choice. Dessert was also fantastic, highly recommend the Pecan Tart and the Creme Brulee! *Service: Service was definitely really great! Had a really great experience here for sure. Absolutely such a splendid place for sushi!! A very quiet and calm demeanor when you first walk in ~ Service is extremely polite and quick! Food also came out quickly! Tried the Crispy Nori - tasty nori chips with a flavorful spicy Tuna and sauce. Would totally get it again. The super dragon roll (eel) was super tasty and had such a good amount of eel! Really enjoyed the Salmon Donburi - such fresh pieces of salmon, scallop, and shrimp ~ the donburi rice also complemented the sashimi together well too! loved the presentation of the food, aesthetics of the restaurant overall, and 9/10 would totally come back! read more

Want to know how much I love this restaurant? I train sales staff at Panerai Boutiques and recently three boutiques wanted me to come out to train their new hires. When I saw our Boutique at Tysons Galleria needed me I told corporate that it is the only one I'll go to because I wanted to dine at Cafe Ile again! Wow this place really impressed me with how pretty they plated their rolls and how delicious their Spicy Tuna Shrimp Tempura roll was! I recommend making a reservation in advance because it is not very spacious here (but I still thought the interior inside was still nice). I appreciated the free mini corn soup and edemame. I thought that the staff was also really kind. I also liked that there was free parking at the garage! I would definitely come back. read more

I have returned to Cafe Ile a few times for lunch since my first review and this place is consistently excellent in every way. The food is always fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Service is top notch. I love the ambiance because it is a quiet restaurant where you can talk quietly and be heard. If you are with a party of three or more I highly recommend the Chef's Island. It is a beautiful presentation of sushi, sashimi and cooked fish. I also always get the spicy tuna and nori as an appetizer which is so good. This place is intimate, and understatedly elegant. When my group and I arrive we are greeted warmly like welcome guests. I feel cared for by people to whom it truly matters to please customers. I love coming here. This place is a gem. read more

It's not often that you can sip coffee and eat sushi at the same time. But one can at Cafe Ile! This is a cute cafe by mornings and sushi bar by evenings place at Tyson's. The space is small and intimate. Service was so friendly and inviting. The fish quality here was superb. My husband and I had the sashimi and sushi special and both dishes were beautifully plated with fresh and buttery fish. Their scallops carpaccio was delicate and paired well with the yuzu flavors. The chawanmushi was so comforting and silky. I really did enjoy every dish we tried here. And best of all, I enjoyed my meal with a wonderful cup of matcha green tea latte. read more

Walked in on a Monday evening without a wait (it is Monday after all). I can feel that the owners are passionate about the restaurant and trying hard to make everything nice! Very friendly waitress and she even randomly gave us salmon cheese toast on the house. It was pretty yummy with something that popped and a nice savory flavor. They gave free appetizers of edamame and corn (tasted like it's been out too long and lost texture), some kind of octopus or squid thing, dried seaweed and seaweed salad. The scallop carpaccio is like 4/5. Great mix of flavors with the toppings and the scallop itself was buttery and soft, better than most places! However they literally only give you 2 pieces which I wish they gave more for the price. The sushi dinner was great! 4/5 the fish itself was 5/5! So fresh and soft and tasty and much better than almost all other places in the dmv. No fishiness at all and delicious. So many tuna and toro pieces as well which really makes this worth the price. However, I am taking off a point because the rice was just not that good. It was under seasoned, cold and kinda dry like it had been out. If the rice was warmed and seasoned more this place could rival some of the places we had in New York. Crème brûlée is an absolute must!! 10/10 I've never had a crème brûlée have such a nice vanilla taste. It was creamy but also amazingly light. I could eat 10 of these. The crunch was so nice and added sweetness to the brûlée which is perfect since the rest of it was not too sweet. The restaurant is pretty small so it might be a good idea to get a reservation but it is cozy and gives off a coffee shop feel (which it also is! Unfortunately couldn't try it since I was there for dinner and they only had americano left). read more

Five-star sushi bar, serving up five star meals and drinks!! My son and I dined in for the Omakase course, an eight-course taste test of the chef's favorite appetizers and entrees....and my what a treat!! Everything was beautifully prepared and plated and the service was phenomenal. Between the seared salmon, Island salad, spicy scallops, assorted sushi rolls, and signature miso soup.....everything was DELISH....especially the berry crème brûlée. For my sushi lovers and coffee connoisseurs, it's a MUST. The Omakase course requires a reservation, beyond that they're open for lunch and dinner and offer the perfect setting for an intimate date night, girls night, or family night out. A friend and I went to dine here a while ago and liked our experience. It was a small restaurant selling fine dining-style Japanese food and desserts, which we didn't expect but was a pleasing surprise. Service was top-notch, and the place was decorated with trendy wood-tone furniture, but the tables were too close to each other, and you could hear the conversation from the following table. The food was excellent; sushi made with fresh fish and rolls was tasty, and desserts were fantastic. read more

Cafe Ile is an interesting restaurant-cafe concept, where they have normal cafe options like pastries and desserts (e.g. apple strudels and creme brulee), coffee and other high-end cafe eateries like avocado toast, but they also have an extensive sushi menu. Definitely a unique take, as the interior and vibe of Cafe Ile could lean either "casual brunch cafe" or "sushi". It felt like there were two different restaurants in one room, haha. The space is definitely on the smaller side, so I imagine it would be pretty busy during dinner time. I'm hesitant to give it a 4/5 because the service here was amazing. I've never had such an attentive server or staff, and I felt welcomed by multiple employees here. One server led me to the bathroom and made sure it was clean before I used it. I was checked in on multiple times throughout my meal, and the server took note of things I did/didn't like. They even offered me free dessert in the end (which I had declined since I'm trying to watch my figure, lol) so I ended up getting a cold brew instead. I do want to say Cafe Ile has shown me the best hospitality I've encountered in a long time. After ordering, I was given some side dishes. My favorite was definitely the crispy nori (which I think you can order as an appetizer) because it was so savory and crispy and delicious. It was surprising how much umami exploded in my mouth upon the first bite. The buttered corn and edamame were also tasty because... butter, lol. The other two side dishes were great, too! SUSHI+ COMBO - 40 This is a bit to splurge on a lunch, but it's definitely well-worth the price. This combo comes with 10 nigiris and a shrimp tempura roll (which I substituted with the yellowtail roll). The presentation was beautiful - each piece of nigiri was spread apart on the onyx platter. Overall, very fancy, haha. The server also took the time to go over each piece of fish with me so I knew what I was eating. The pieces that stood out the most to me were definitely the salmon belly (super fatty and umami bomb), toro (the ultimate melt in your mouth umami explosion), and the yellowtail (so underrated, yet good). The other pieces were delicious, too. I thought my tuna was too fishy, but otherwise, the flavor was good. One thing I didn't like is that they sneak a bunch of random ingredients and garnishes in between the rice and fish. For example, the yellowtail had a small slice of jalapeno and parsley (or was it cilantro?) in between that I had to take out. The salmon had some onions, which was fine. I'm glad the salmon belly and toro just came with rice, haha. Other pieces had other random things snuck in, too. Similarly, the yellowtail roll had peppers and parsley wrapped in, which I didn't quite enjoy. My server definitely took note of that and made sure I enjoyed my meal for the most part. Besides that, this was definitely a great deal because you get a lot for $40. The fish quality was pretty top-notched for the most part. COLD BREW Definitely very refreshing end, never thought I'd have coffee at a sushi restaurant, haha. Thanks to my server for giving this to me :) Happy to come again to try other options, like the sashimi (seems like there's a large variety here!). The cafe side of the restaurant seems to be delicious, too. Their pastries looked mouth-watering, and I'd definitely be back for the creme brulee on a cheat day. read more

I'm giving this 4 stars rather than 3 solely due to the quality of the sushi and fish overall. It is a very small restaurant, but even still, it seemed understaffed. There was one waitress working the night I was there and she had to handle every table plus all the togo/take out orders it seemed - and there were at least 2 or 3 too orders being worked at any point in time. The menu is small but well done minus a few typos, the eel combo was duplicated, and one of the sakes seemed to be priced strange. It felt like all the other orders were being handled before the ones for people in the restaurant itself. It took way too long to have our order taken and even longer to get the food itself. The server was very friendly, and the manager (I think) noticed and brought out a free dish - though one of the people in my group couldn't eat it. I will say it felt like the manager was standing around for way too long before stepping up to help out with the guests in the restaurant, though eventually she did. It just felt weird. The inside was nice and upscale, the fish and food were tasty, and it was pretty busy, but the service fell short. It's at a nice location, got 2 reserved parking spots outside the restaurant and a parking garage just next to it. The restaurant is clean and well decorated. Food is above average. I like my protein roll and all the dishes have a good presentation. The dessert is amazing. And they have a lot wine options. It's a bit on the pricey side, but still recommended. read more

This sushi cafe was a blessing in disguise. Literally a disguise! Looks like a cafe, serves cafe items, but also, serves sushi and serves it well. Such a welcome surprise! The sushi was fresh, firm, and tasty. Looking at the menu, it seemed to consist of basic, classic rolls, but to my surprise again, they were served with a slight twist. Small but impactful changes were the addition of pickled veggies in some of the rolls, a fine furikake seasoning, tempura'd rice balls, and a version of Japanese "ban chan" to start your meal. This included a seaweed salad, edamame beans, cold marinated ika salad, and a corn and green bean dish. The rolls are unique and full of flavor! Definitely not your average sushi roll or traditional sushi spot. The ambiance was quaint and tranquil and the servers were lovely! It's a small place, so definitely call ahead and make a resy!
