Cafe Heaven's breakfast wasn't so...heavenly. Compared to the couple of other restaurants hubby and I visited on the ever-busy/touristy/and famous on Commercial St, we liked those. Even pulling into Commercial St to start our mini vacay on a Thursday afternoon, we'd seen folks lining up in droves for this place.That kind of buzz had us saving Heaven in the back of our minds for breakfast and thought it must be worth the wait. Cafe H. has a clouds and sky ceiling mural which added a nice nod to their name. Our server was friendly. Unfortunately, the food fell flat. My husband's French toast was thin and tasted mostly eggy and my Benedict had tiny lobster pieces (and no hollandaise, by choice). Even my grapefruit-jalapeño morning margarita couldn't save the morning. While the manager(?), owner(?) isn't pushing you out, she does circle around to see how far folks are in their meals. Came here for breakfast and its a cute small place with super friendly service. I ended up getting their special of the day which was a lamb hash and it was quite tasty - similar to a gyro with eggs. Would recommend. I like that my coffee was refilled, our waters were always topped off and the food was great. Would come back again for breakfast! read more

I came to Cafe Heaven this morning for breakfast and grabbed a seat at the bar. The first thing I noticed was that this was obviously a very local spot because my server, Aaron, knew just about everyone who came in to sit down by name. They had a fun little infuser for my green tea, and I ordered the Mexican scramble. The dish came out quickly and tasted very fresh, with a wonderful dose of avocado among the black beans and eggs. This cafe is always busy and one of the main reasons is the excellent food they serve. My husband got some eggs with an avocado toast and I got a grilled chicken salad and both items were delicious and well made. Our server was really friendly and funny. Their dining room is not very big but they do have two sections, one close to the bar and one in a separate room. Spot on!!! Got in with two seats at the bar for an impromptu brunch . Great Clean and efficient. Aaron was a great bartender, waiter , helpful with suggestions and super friendly . If you are at the gates of Heaven, the restaurant will provide you with a decent meal. Staff here are pretty chatty and that contributes to the ambiance. The meals pretty solid depending on what you order. I recommend you sit at the bar where the gossip flows. read more

Ate here this morning, honestly don't understand the appeal. had a confusing time going in one door, to be told go through another just for it to be locked. Ordered a ham and cheese omelette with home fries and hash on the side. arrived pretty quickly, but the home fries were cold(probably made 20 minutes prior) and absolutely no seasoning, just fried plain potatoes, the toast was really sliced bread, and twas the first time I've had to search through an omelette for ham. Service was fine, nothing to write home about but shouldn't complain on how busy it was. the large portion of hash was probably the only enjoyable thing I had. I get better food, none of the juggling and 1/3 the price at Chach's. Times are tough, specially in ptown, but quality over quantity, go somewhere else for breakfast. read more

After a bunch of locals recommended this place I was excited to try, but was disappointed. Ordered an omelette with feta and spinach. As you can see from the picture the spinach was barely cooked and it ruined the meal for me. The home fries were okay. The cornbread was honestly the best thing I ate. The service really made the experience better. The server was super attentive and friendly. There's a bar and a bunch of seating inside. It's a nice restaurant, but wish the food was better. There isn't any parking. I recommend walking over if you're staying nearby. read more

The cocktails were on point and delicious. The calamari appetizer was fine with lots of peppers and well cooked. And then there was a lot a loud arguments from the kitchen, yelling and accusations Yikes the entrees, the smoky tomato scallops, while the scallops were plump and fresh the sauce was kind of bitter and off. And the bouillabaisse didn't have the advertised and traditional clams and mussels. The waitress didn't warn us and disappeared for the rest of the meal. We stopped by for a sit down breakfast this morning. Our server was really good at helping out with some questions that we had with on one of the specials. Our food came out fast and it was great. The cinnamon roll French toast. It wasn't glazed so it wasn't overly sweet. It was topped with fresh fruit so along with all those carbs, we did have some healthiness! On the flip side, the corned beef hash was not as healthy but it tasted really good. Kinda different with poached eggs but still good nonetheless. Coffee was passable and bottomless. It was easily the worst experience we have had at any restaurant in the US. We went there with our baby and requested for a low table so that the baby could sit safely and comfortably. We were initially asked to wait for 10 min and offered a bar stool instead of waiting. Our baby got uncomfortable at the bar stool and the place was also quite cramped up. We requested to be moved to a low table way before our order was brought. The staff told us that no low tables were available. However, there were at least 2 tables right in the middle of the seating area that were clearly available. Despite our insistence that our baby was extremely uncomfortable and at risk of fall they refused to budge. The food also came very late, at least 30 min late and the burger patty was burnt. We would strongly advise against going to this place. read more

Stopped in here as soon as it opened. Every meal was delicious, the ambiance was cute with the decorations and dividers between tables which made it private. We got the lobster eggs Benedict which, although a bit pricey, were also very tasty. In particular, the hollandaise sauce was very memorable. The service was great! Our server was an energetic older lady and we enjoyed chatting with her. When we got there, there was a ~15 minute wait which went by pretty quickly as we perused some of the surrounding shops. A late Thursday morning and every restaurant looked busy (people lined up outside), we walked up and the host said "Two?" and we said Yes and he said "Come this way!". We were seated and just as we got settled in, a waiter came over asked us for our drinks and told us the specials of the day. 2 minutes later came back with our drinks and asked if we were ready to order or had any question. Ham & cheese scrambled with heaven fries and 3 eggs with spinach/cheese with arugula salad. 4 minutes later our meals came and they were great, excellent portions, the perfect temperature and only needed a little bit salt and pepper to make them perfect. This is a cute spot right on Commercial Street in the thick of everything. My parents and I came for a weekday breakfast before the crowds started piling up and we enjoyed ourselves. Our server Flavio was super friendly and attentive. He had great timing. Our table was right next to the bathroom and he was very conscious of making sure to close the door in case someone had left it open next to us. He also even grabbed a local magazine and showed us a bike path he mentioned so we knew where it would be. 5/5 service! The food was hits and misses. We had a grilled berry muffin to start which was delicious. The coffee was good and is served in cute cups on saucers. My dad had the hash and eggs and said he wished the hash was more evidently homemade as was advertised. My mom had the yogurt and granola, but her granola was soft and she thought it was stale. I had a spinach, feta, and sun dried tomato omelette. The feta was kind of rubbery and I was hoping it would be more creamy and fresh. 3/5 food. All in all this place is conveniently located and has great service. It just wasn't the best food we've had in town. read more

Cafe Heaven is one of the best hidden gems on commercial street in Provincetown. Well maybe a hidden gem to some, but it has been around for 40+ years! The food is unique, fun, and fresh. Prices are EXTREMELY reasonable for fresh seafood as well. As for the staff, the owner Quinn was sweet welcoming and made sure to come chat with us for a few even though we were no one special! As for Tammy, our server, what a GEM. Besides the food and the amazing clam chowder, Tammy made our experience over the top. Shes funny, personable, energetic, passionate, and actually CARES about the people she's serving. Tammy is a G and you're lucky to have her serve you! One of my most favourite places to visit in Ptown. I've eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Drank cocktails, wine and sampled desserts and it never disappointed. The food is great, service is efficient and staff are incredibly kind and welcoming whilst also making you feel relaxed. It is very very busy so book a table, after you've eaten here you'll understand why. The change from breakfast/brunch menu into evening time is amazing. Mornings are fun and lively, whilst the evenings are calm and intimate. I could not have enjoyed myself more here and will be my first port of call when I return. Haven't tried this place in many many years and wasn't sure why but after having breakfast here yesterday, it was probably because the food is very bland. The homemade hash was like a blob of very wet Thanksgiving stuffing plopped on the plate and had no flavor except for excessive pepper. The homefries also had absolutely no spices at all. Our food was very solid (lobster cake - excellent; burrata - good; lobster-tini - good; burgers - very good; primavera - ok; fish sandwich - excellent; Lisbon salad - very good), but the highlight of our meal was the excellent service by the witty, honest, and charming Brent. So we waited and Jason was kind enough to keep in touch by phone, letting us know they were still planning on reopening for late dinner. We walked down and the power was not back on (just a small part of Commercial Street) and while we were disappointed, everyone there from the owner, managers, servers, and bartenders were so helpful in trying to find us a dinner reservation somewhere else! Colin even gave us a ride to the restaurant they were kind enough to refer us to! Talk about amazing customer service! My goodness was I disappointed in Cafe Heaven this time. Train wreck is an understatement. I've been here for breakfast before (it's been a few years.. but I remember enjoying it). The dinner menu sounded great so I wanted to give it a try. It was a mistake. I will not be back for dinner. I did really like one drink that I had though, I wish I could remember what it was called but I know it had beets in it. Maybe I'll come back just to the bar area sometime, though I will not be getting dinner food... hopefully I can update my review next time after a better experience, but this one left a pretty bad taste in my mouth (literally + figuratively). Food: 0/10 Service: 0/10 Ambiance: 0/10 Drinks: 5/10 (one mixed drink was good, one wasn't) Food--I am completely positive that my food came out of a can. I would have taken Chef Boyardee (ew) any day over what I was given though. It was dog food quality. None of the food we ordered was redeemable in any way. Presentation was meh, flavor was much worse. Nothing tasted fresh. Once my waiter finally did come over, I asked to have salt, pepper and red pepper chili flakes brought to the table so that I could try to slightly salvage my meal. Nothing helped, it was impossible to make my linguine taste edible. I don't understand how food can be made to taste this bad. I mean even the bruschetta was bad, which is a dish that I can confidently say that I've never had be subpar before, but they managed to make even THAT taste terrible--how does this happen? Service--Excuse me, what?? Do they specifically hire people to ignore you at all costs? This is an honest question, I genuinely am curious if this is like supposed to be "part of the experience" or something? I can't remember the last time I was taken care of this poorly. They weren't even busy, there were tons of wait staff just milling about, and no one would look at us or come over. I tried SO hard to get their attention and it was a MINIMUM of 20 minutes before someone would come help us each time. THREE random people had to bring us stuff because our waiter was no where to be found. And I quote from the bartender "are these yours? They were sitting at the bar for a long time, and I wasn't sure who they belonged to," because our waiter completely forgot that we'd gotten drinks. At least come fill my cup so that I can have something to do other than twiddle my thumbs. I couldn't even get someone to fill our water glasses, let alone our wine glasses. And by water glasses, I mean the very same cheap plastic cups that I used at Girl Scout camp as a child (lol why?). Ambiance--unbelievable amount of flies. Not sure where they're coming from, the doors are closed (though it's not like there's a big fly problem outside either?)...After being in Ptown for a week this time, I don't think I saw a single fly. Until I came here, that is. I spent most of the meal just trying to shoo them away from me. There were house flies, fruit flies, all kinds of flies. I wish I were exaggerating on this, but there were dozens in the room. To detract from the ambiance further, there were people vacuuming the whole time we ate. It's not like we were the last people here, but I guess they were really trying to let everyone know it was closing time. We would have been out of there a whole lot sooner if our waiter didn't take about an hour in between each time he checked on us (ok, this part on the timing might be an exaggeration...but not by much). And to top it all off, it was an outrageously expensive meal (which I wouldn't have minded if there had been anything good about this place). This was a truly horrible experience lol.. I was in such a good mood when I got here and I tried my best to remain positive and enjoy our evening, but my gosh was this entire thing an unforgettably awful outing.
