The restaurant was not too busy when we got there. Our friends were already seated and waiting for us. There had ordered water for the table and had their coffees. Joshua appeared shortly after we exchanged pleasantries with our group. He checked in and we ordered coffee as well. He returned with the coffee and took all our orders. Two of our friends frequent the cafe weekly so he already knew what they wanted. The rest of us were able to order. We received our food in a reasonable time. Joshua and Kim checked in periodically to make sure we didn't need anything and kept the coffee flowing. I had the Pot Roast Omelette with Home Fries and a Biscuit. It was ok. Everyone else enjoyed their food. I would recommend the cafe adding fresh fruits to the menu. By the time we got ready to leave, there was a line of people waiting to be seated. We had to sidled out the door. The cafe is quaint and popular with the locals of Mount Dora. I am open to returning and trying something else on the menu.

The latte was delicious and piping hot--perfect for a chilly day. My first bite of the garlic chocolate chip cookie had me thinking, "No," but it quickly grew on me, and I ended up really enjoying the unexpected combination of flavors. The red velvet scone was huge (perfect for sharing) and absolutely amazing, loaded with chocolate chips. When I asked for jam and clotted cream, I was told they were not available. They offered to heat it in the microwave for me, and at first, I said I'll eat it as is. I was soon back to ask them to heat it, which did help with the texture and taste. My friend had a chocolate raspberry bar, and another tried a cupcake. We were all disappointed in our choices. I had promised my husband something from the bakery when I got home, but decided to pass and went home empty-handed.

We have used a gift card there on our three previous visits and were told this time that it was not working. Despite it working fine all three times prior to this. There was no further service provided other than sorry this doesn't work. And today when we ordered an iced coffee with milk we received a latte. I just feel this was not a good addition to the town and both the service and selection has been a let down each time. There are plenty of other options in the area that will get our business.

My biggest complaint is they need to pay attention to their cleanliness. I had something floating in my glass, there was a large cobweb hanging from the main light fixture, and when my food was brought out, the tray was covered in crumbs. At least wipe it down after clearing a table.
