I remember this place from way back! I have friends that come in town and this is the first place they want to go! I can't speak for their other locations, but the Plano location is my go to. Charging the Tesla and walked into café gecko. Had never been here or heard of it before. On the inside it feels a little bit like a hole in the wall, in a good way. The place is cozy enough for conversation but still spacious enough to sit with a group of friends. They have amazing stuffed jalapeños. Everything is made from scratch. The staff is super friendly and attentive, we love this place. They keep late hours, so if those munchies call your name they have you covered - right up to closing time. They have great beer but also a nice wine list. So I came here tonight with a friend for Happy Hour and it was AMAZING!! This is a very low-key and unassuming spot so I really was't expecting much, but WOW!! The staff was so warm and welcoming and the atmosphere was super chill and inviting. Per our server's recommendation, I ordered the sour cream chicken nachos and I was blown away!! The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the sour cream sauce was on point and the cheese was so melty and delicious! I also ordered The Dreamsicle cocktail and it was truly a dream! The mix of whipped cream vodka, orange and pineapple juice, and whipped cream was top tier! Not only are the drinks delicious - but they are also strong, so keep that in mind. As if the food and drinks weren't good enough - the prices are AMAZING! Seriously, my friend and I both got drinks and entrees and our total was around $35 dollars . I have been a patron of this restaurant for over 19years. I used to frequent them during my lunch hour over 10 years ago. Now I've been known to drive 40 minutes just to enjoy their a chicken enchiladas, quesadillas and Queso with beef. Their food is literally "comfort food". I have yet to have anything here that wasn't good. I used to eat onsite, but now because of time and their location I typically order to go. went there last night. very disappointed. very violent environment. went in to order food to go - ended up watching 3-4 bar fights. felt very unsafe and left in a hurry. the bartender continued to serve them after they were visibly drunk. he continued to serve the same people after the fights. it continued to get more violent so we left. the cops were never called and the end result was broken bottles and blood all over the floor.
