I love a new study space and this is one of those nice spacious ones located right in the centre of downtown, close to both TMU and UofT. Lots of students working here and they have plenty of seats with about 1/2 the seat having access to an outlet. Though this is an amazing study/work space there is a seating limit of 2 hours and you need to request a wi-fi voucher for 2 hours of wifi. The menu itself is pretty classic. It has your espresso and matcha based drinks and some pastries. I got the matcha latte and honestly it's pretty watered down in my opinion. Nothing amazing but for the space and vibes, I like it. Would come again if I just want to get a solid 2 hours of work in.

Cute second floor cafe that has plenty of seating. They have a wide variety of cafe items from classic coffee to specialty lattes. It's quite busy with lots of people working on laptops, so it may be difficult to find a seat in the afternoon. I tried a classic matcha latte and it tasted pretty good but was only lukewarm. Free wifi, the password for which is printed on your receipt. The space is clean and not too loud.

Cafe Foret had a great environment for studying or group meetings, and the service was efficient and fast. Plenty of space. The elevator was not working which is a definite accessibility issue. The bingsu was too sweet for my taste and the fruit tasted like canned fruit.

Cafe Foret located along Dundas St. W. near Chestnut St. is a new Korean cafe from the owners of Project Seoul (along Spadina near Kensington Market) and Daldongnae. Located on the second floor, they open at 11am daily and close at 10pm. This spot is particularly popular among students as there is plenty of seating and power outlets throughout the space, where it is encouraged for you to spend lots of time there despite the 2 hr seating limit (not sure how or if this is enforced). The space is completely accessible as well. I first attempted to visit Cafe Foret on a weekday in the afternoon. Upon entering the first floor, you are asked to take the elevator to the 2nd floor (stairs are only for emergencies only). It would have been nice to take stairs as the elevator feels old where it could break down or get stuck. There is a sign in the elevator with a number to call if you do need assistance in the elevator though. Upon entering the 2nd floor, it was packed full of students on their laptops working away. Even attempting to look for a spot was difficult and I decided to leave that time. I came back to Cafe Foret on a Sunday morning right when they opened at 11am. Despite me getting to the cafe right when they opened at 11am, I wasn't the first person there where there were already at least 7-8 people inside. I decided to grab a spot first by putting down my stuff as well as took some pictures of the space without any customers. The space is light and airy with greenery and plants throughout, making it feel like you are in a jungle oasis in the middle of the downtown core. The menu consists of your usual espresso based drinks, coffee with cold foam, matcha drinks, matcha with cold foam, smoothies, as well as teas (iced and hot). They also have a display full of cake slices, pastries, salads as well as sandwiches. They also have a variety of croffles and bingsu (shaved ice) which are made to order. The cashier and coffee bar is near the elevator and as I glanced at the menu, I opted to grab a coconut hojicha cloud as well as a butter croissant. Once you pay you are given a buzzer where you pick up your order at the other end of the counter. As my buzzer rang, I walked up to the counter, however, staff informed me that they didn't have any hojicha cold foam yet so...I was given a coconut matcha cloud instead (same price). Would have been nice to try the coconut hojicha cloud so guess I'll have to go back to try that next time. Service was friendly and the staff were pretty busy as there was a steady flow of customers from the time I got there till when I left. Sitting down while enjoying my items, the croissant was warmed up and flakey and the coconut matcha cloud was tasty but I had to move my straw to get the matcha foam on top while sipping my drink. The place got increasingly busier and louder within the 30 min I was there where it was half full when I left (there was also a line up for the cashier). Majority of the customers were on laptops so they would likely be there for a long time working or studying. Overall, a cute cafe in the downtown core, however, it is pricey and it gets pretty loud and busy in the afternoons as many students come here to work and study where you likely will not find a spot to sit. I likely won't visit this cafe often as it gets loud and busy, however, I do want to return to try that coconut hojicha cloud drink.

Ambiance-wise, this place is super pretty and it's so popular with students; I saw many young patrons with their laptops. I do, however, wonder about their budgets, since this is a bit pricey for a student budget. I tried the Injeolmi croffle, a cheddar scone, and a hot chocolate. Honestly, I thought the hot chocolate was much too sweet (I had to go back and ask them to dilute it), and the cheddar scone had no flavour and was too dense. Meanwhile, the croffle was good, and so I'd be interested in trying other flavours.

This Korean cafe opened on 2025-12-21. It occupies a huge 2nd floor. Forêt means forest in French so there is a green and wood vibe everywhere. There is a wall decorated too look like large windows that open. They want to portray a calm outdoorsy atmosphere. They sell coffee, tea, latte, matcha, smoothies and desserts (croffle and bingsu). After you order, they give you a buzzer to tell you when your order is ready for pickup. Since I had already eaten an AYCE dinner, where I stuffed myself, and only discovered this cafe while walking by, I ordered a Strawberry Banana Smoothie ($8.95). The owner said since I was taking a lot of photos and videos, I had to buy at least one item, so I did, even though I could hardly move. The Smoothie was not too sweet and the strawberry and banana tasted fresh. The customer service was good. There are lots of small round and square tables, with stylish organic chairs. There is quiet easy-listening piano music playing in the background. There is free WiFi 7. The cafe is wheelchair accessible (there is an elevator and stairs). There are three female, one male, and one gender-neutral wheelchair accessible washrooms. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-265

    Water downed americano

This cafe is located on the second floor. It is on top of the popular Gyubee location on Chestnut and Dundas. The cafe itself looks spacious. When it gets busy there are no places to sit down and eat as the majority of the people that visit are working or occupying space with their jackets or stuff. It would be nice if staff considered a time limit to allow for people that genuinely want to have a conversation with other people, actually have a space to do so. Not entirely sure how long this place has been opened but the workflow for staff seems out of wack. There have 6 or so staff working on drinks and no one is taking orders. There were people in queue for at least 15 minutes or so before an order could be placed. That's only if the staff noticed there were people queuing. After managing to place an order 25 minutes in. The wait for the drinks and dessert took another 20 minutes. The entire experience was a good 45 minutes to get just the drinks and dessert. Thankfully, my friend managed to locate a table while we waited for the order. The Americanos that we had, was missing the taste of coffee. It was very water downed compared to most places in Toronto. The bingsu on the other hand was not very pleasant and the fruit tasted like it came out of a can and was not fresh. One thing that me and my friend noticed was that the same person clearing the trash and trays, was also the same person serving food without washing their hands... Yikes. It will be a while before I even consider returning to this place. They have a lot to work on.

This second location is located outside on the beautifully picturesque cobblestone road named Temperance Street. The building is historic and the calm interiors make you feel instantly at home. The staff was really nice and told me about their menu and seasonal items. In addition to coffee and matcha based beverages, the store offers food and merch as well. Apparently this location is a laptop free zone, offering an incredibly welcome oasis from the hustle and bustle of financial district. Today I ordered a cortado. Before you even drink it, the fragrant coffee smell hits you. A bit sweet and almost fruity. When drinking it, the flavours amplify and provide an overall sense of calm, a breath of fresh air. It doesn't just feel like a regular old coffee but that you can take your time with it, like having a conversation with an old friend, it is meant to be savoured. I absolutely plan to go back for one of their seasonal matcha beverages and to get away from it all. 5/5

The café itself is beautiful and has a very modern, aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. It was extremely busy during my visit, which is always a good sign. Because of the rush, a few tables still had dishes waiting to be cleared, making it a little difficult for some customers to find a place to sit. The tables are also fairly close together, but that's understandable given the downtown Toronto setting. The smoked salmon croissant was the highlight of my meal. It was fresh, flavorful, and packed with ingredients that worked really well together. I would absolutely order it again. My only disappointment was the latte. It looked beautiful and tasted good, but it was served warm rather than hot. Since our breakfast arrived about 10 minutes after our drinks, my coffee had become even cooler by the time I started eating, which took away from the experience. Overall, I still enjoyed my visit and would definitely give Nonni Cafe & Bakery another try. The friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere, and delicious food make it a great spot for a relaxed breakfast or coffee date.

This coffee shop is nestled semi-behind a pillar beside the lobby of the Intercontinental hotel Toronto, which adds to its charm for me, in a way. Love finding a good "hole in the wall" :) I love the bright, feminine, beachy decor and coral pink & aqua blue accents. It's not too tropical, but it definitely transports you outside of Canada. Coupled with Aussie staples like vegemite and Noosa magazines (takes me straight back there!), as well as gorgeous ceramic coffee mugs for purchase, the vibes are great here. While it is a smaller shop, there is enough seating for 3 tables, and it's very cozy. Had to go for a flat white, given the Aussie homage here. This one got my approval (and I'm picky about my flat whites) - they used a lighter, more balanced espresso roast, paired with just the right amount of creamy frothed milk. They also had a banana bread latte that my companion really enjoyed too! Looking forward to my next visit!

I realized it was already late fall and I hadn't yet had my one and only PSL of the year, so that's what I ordered. It was decent as far as PSL's go and came with a lovely little foam pumpkin on top. Tres adorbs. The iced strawberry matcha latte also looked incredible and I had order envy. My friend ordered a pastry and said it was delicious.
