This place is so cute! I ordered the grilled cheese (fontina, cheddar, pesto, heirloom tomato,…read moredijonnaise), which also came with an order of fries. The portion sizes were enough for two meals! The fries were seasoned well, hot and crispy and the grilled cheese had a wonderful flavor. Adding pesto and tomato really elevates this comfort food. They also have a wide variety of ice cream, coffees, pastries and a small market area with local goodies that you normally have to go to Indianapolis to get. I also had a brown sugar shaken espresso, which hit the spot after my meal. They have a holiday drink menu which is not advertised online, so I'll have to stop back in to try something else. Coffee is from Tinker, a local Indy roaster. This would be a great spot to meet friends for brunch, dinner or an afternoon coffee.

( also you can get a pint of their gelato for $8, which is a heck of a deal in my opinion ) they have a nice selection of local alcohol as well, and a nice selection of monin syrups they sell for less than you can get them on amazon for. Place is always quiet, peaceful, and inviting and always a place I stop after having a pizza next door.

The son of the owner informed me this location and the Martinsville location are owned by his mom…read more It has been many months since I visited the Martinsville location and their menu has really expanded to include a plethora on lunch choices in addition to an expanded breakfast menu at both locations. And he said the menu will expand again soon. Since I was by myself and he had some time, he sat down and we chatted for awhile. The seating at both restaurants, and you can call them that now since they do not just sell drinks anymore, has been greatly expanded both indoors and outside. He also told me they are working on opening a Plainfield location. I ordered my usual The Slugger on a biscuit for my bread choice (4) with sausage for my meat choice (3) and provolone for my cheese choice (5). It was superb and just how I remembered it from the other location when I was eating breakfast there several days a week about a year ago. I also ordered one Biscuit & Gravy which was excellent as well. I love small local business establishments and cooking. They always have great service and a friendly atmosphere. I parked in the public parking lot across the street since it was a Saturday and street parking was full. The restroom was clean, well stocked and had a pleasant fragrance.

I unfortunately didn't have the best experience here however, the atmosphere was so warm and cozy…read moreand I love the location. I ordered a grilled cheese along with a sugar pie slice and a London fog. They have other baked good options which looked good too. The grilled cheese was very small and I think cheese got into the pan because it was also cooked onto the bottom side of the sandwich. It was a very small grilled cheese. The London fog tasted quite strong and the sugar pie didn't really stand out. There were other items on the menu though that I'd love to try if I ever go back. What I think took this down to 3 stars was the service. When I went to order, I was just stared at and I thought maybe they weren't ready for me yet but they were. There was just no greeting of "Hi, welcome in" or even a "What can I get for you?" It was just a stare and silence. Now the staff were not unkind...they certainly seemed friendly but that lack of greeting didn't feel great. Additionally, they were very quiet or mumbled when calling out orders and so it seemed like many people listening never heard their order including me. I also had to ask again for the pie after having paid. I bought a bandana as well and didn't see the price tag. When I asked how much it was the staff member said it was either 12 or 15 dollars. She rang it up as 15 when later I saw the price tag and it clearly said $12. I showed the staff member and she said it was $15 and it was a handwriting issue for the price tag. I rarely write reviews less than five stars but I do think if there could be a bit more initiative from the staff and orders called out more clearly and louder for drinks so they don't spoil that would really help.

I ordered a butterbeer latte, then noticed some winter menu flavors so I'm definitely going back for those. They serve Calvin Fletcher coffee (a coffee roaster/shop in downtown Indy) and that was nice to see local supporting local! My drink was warm, smooth and perfect for the extremely cold day.
