Finally made it to Cafe Dolce. Despite the raving reviews I was skeptical given how picky I am with coffee, but was pleasantly surprised to find they offered pour over Ethiopian. My assumption given the European vibe and proper espresso machine is they are great on that front. The coffee had potential. Unfortunately I think they use a 1:15 ratio instead of 1:17, and I saw the barrista poured too fast. He was pouring with a Fellow kettle which is what I use at home and know it intimately. A proper pour almost uses no angle, it's a very light stream. That said expecting a perfect pour is unrealistic. It's just great to know there's a local spot who offers Ethiopian pour overs. I was excited to hear of a Hungarian bakery in Norwalk I drove up there today and was so disappointed. Very little selection and what they had hardly resembled what I grew up with I was raised in a Hungarian home with my grandmother and mother being two of the very best cooks I even spent last Christmas in Budapest at the Christmas markets. So I know good food. The owner first of all told me apricot was not traditional Hungarian filling someone should let Budapest know this. If I posted this correctly, then you'll see the delicious crêpe wit apple and caramel as well as the very black, very strong coffee--the way I like it. Oh My GOODNESS! How have I never heard of this amazing cafe! I pulled up to their location on a Saturday morning and there were people already enjoying their morning breakfast and coffee outside on their patio. We walked inside to a beautifully decorated cafe and were immediately greeted by the staff. I enjoyed and fresh made iced chai latte and a crepe with prosciutto, spinach, goat cheese, and a balsamic fig glaze on top. My friend enjoyed a cappuccino, a cheese danish (which she devoured!), and a strawberry walnut crepe with farmers cheese. The servers were very attentive as we sat and enjoyed our meals. Let it be known that Google has the wrong hours for this café during COVID. They closed at 14:00 today, not 17:00! We are not from the area but were nearby and stopped in for coffee on our drive home. They were in the middle of their close but the door was open. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! This is now a weekend tradition - they even know us, and they know the fact that my husband is ADDICTED to their coconut kiss cookies! They've expanded their menu to include eggs, breakfast sandwiches, and so much more! I think what says it all, though, is the fact that one afternoon I walked in to pick up a couple of said cookies, and I was really sick - no voice at all! The gentleman who is always there (I assume an owner - I think his name is Norbert?) had Lauren make me the BEST cup of chamomile tea with honey, and they gave it to me on the house! When you walk in, you see an adorable coffee shop. You're greeted by friendly & helpful employees. I had about a million questions and the girl at the front was able to answer all of them without getting annoyed at me LOL! My iced almond latte was almondy & sweet & had some foamed milk on top! Refreshing with a nice breakfast. A few minutes later, out came the croissant sandwiches & then the crepe followed. My croissant was STUFFED!!!! I ended up eating it with a fork & knife because it was too large to eat like a sandwich. My boyfriend was able to eat his with his hands. First thing I noticed was that the onions were caramelized which I wasn't expecting since onions usually aren't caramelized in omelets. But this was a great surprise to me because I love caramelized onions & it shows they took that extra step to make the omelet delicious. You can tell they put love in it. The croissant was crispy & buttery & soft & delicious. Overall, the sandwich was perfect. The crepe was soft & thin & everything you'd want a crepe to be! The strawberries were a compote & the cheese was like ricotta but sweet. The crepes had a slight lemon flavor which was also a pleasant surprise! My mouth was watering from the minute we walked in. The pastries, the smell of the coffee is so delightful to your senses. Both of my girls had the Nutella and banana crepes which were light with a generous amount of both the Nutella and banana. I had the avocado toast with egg, the portion size was very generous as well as being delicious. We bought a few slices of cake and a pastry for after dinner, which I am excited to try. I'm not going to lie. When I pulled into the parking lot, I didn't think that this would be a place I would find interesting. There weren't any people my age in there so like I said, hesitant. But once I walked in, I was very impressed. The decor was very relaxing. The workers were very pleasant & nice. I ordered an Almond Milk Mocha Latte which was very delicious and aesthetically pleasing in the cup it was in. For dessert, I ordered the German Chocolate Cake as recommended by the one of the workers. I would have & will most likely get there "Most Famous Dessert" that the worker said he didn't like because he wasn't a fan of butter cream next time. Thought that I would mention that when one of the workers brought my cake over, the plastic was still one the cake. Not a big deal but as he placed the cake down, he sneezed in the direction of the cake. I was a bit disgusted and can only hope that when he brought the cake to the back to remove the plastic that he exchanged cakes as well. Besides that, pretty cool spot. This is my favorite cafe in the area. The people are friendly, the coffee is good, and the pastries and cakes are delicious! My favorite go-to cake is the white chocolate raspberry, but I often try their newer desserts and they're all great. The crepes, pasta specials, and paninis are also very tasty although they can take a little while due to the small kitchen. The biggest downsides of Cafe Dolce include the limited hours (open until 2-3pm) and their very limited social media presence. read more

Very unassuming cafe in small strip. My favorites are the strudels, the chorizo panini, and the elderflower lemonade but everything here is tasty. The staff is happy to help you make a selection. I love coming here, the owners are usually here and the staff is very friendly. The pastries are amazing and look so fresh and delicious - I wish I could eat them all! They are decorated just perfectly and pretty to look at. The cakes are delightful, creamy and just sweet enough. I had lunch with a co worker the other day and tried the freshly made pasta with sun dried tomato cream sauce with mushrooms. It was divine, I ate it all! I enjoyed the pasta with a passion fruit lemonade and can say that it is better than Snapple any day. They should bottle it. The bakery is comfortable with a few private tables and others that you just pull up a stool and get to know your neighbor.
