Tried this place over the weekend and it wasn't what we expected based on reviews from other customers. Food was ok, service was not great. We are all about supporting small businesses so we try to eat local but this place was very disappointing. The patio and indoor dining areas are really nice and clean. Their customer service was poor and needs improvement. Since the moment we walked in we didn't feel welcomed. Everyone sitting around us was getting attended to with ordering their drinks and appetizers. We had to go inside to order any food and beer and once we were at our table we sat there half hour waiting for water. Food was nothing to brag about. We loved their food truck the first time we had it so we were hoping the cafe was going to be better, unfortunately it was not. read more

today we ordered a to- go, somehow there was a misunderstanding on the phone and they forgot our side of fries, we drove back and they gave us a large quantity instead of the regular size with no charge! this place no doubt has great food and an amazing atmosphere but their customer service is also top tier! thank you cafe deville, we will definitely be back again. read more

Cafe DeVille is the place to be! We have been twice and have tried the pretzel bites with cheese dip, pulled pork sliders, bacon and blue burger, goat cheese croquettes, fries, side salad that comes with the burgers, the pesto provolone burger, and the breakfast burger. Grilled buns, chilled glasses for our ciders, thick juicy burger patty, thick cut bacon, a generous mound of pulled pork, crispy cheese, it's all so well executed. Ben and Michelle have just gotten started and they're already doing everything so beautifully. Service is sad. Living in a highly white populated city shows at this restaurant. Sat ourselves down as did another group of people behind us and the waitress ignored our table and greeted the table behind us and brought them drinks, didn't care to greet our table. The food is delicious and consistently so, the ambiance of the outdoor patio is probably my favorite thing about it- great music, kid friendly, just good vibes all around. My family and I will drive an hour just to go eat at this place, the owners and staff are wonderful! You feel like family when you go here. It's a fun vibe inside or outside (they have a lovely back patio with the owners own flowers from her garden sprinkled in there and nice wood picnic tables). Our top favs from our recent visit was their pretzel bites with mustard and cheese sauce on the side, tri tip sando and their homemade you will legit drool over French Onion soup or their tomato bisque with grilled cheese. We stopped in last night to give Cafe Deville a try. We were really pleased. The food was quite delicious. High quality ingredients that were prepared and presented very well. You need to go in with the right expectations. This is a sandwich and salad spot. Don't expect more. What you can expect is a family operated restaurant that is owned by a charming couple that go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Ben is the chef and manages back of house while Michelle runs the front of house. Both are experienced restaurateurs. Give Cafe Deville a try. Wow....I was blown away by this place! Stopped by after having a beer at two of the other Nipomo established locations. One stop was only for a beer but I intended on grabbing a bite at the second spot. Things happen, but today, Saturday, food was not something they seemed to be willing offer. Another Nipomo resident had suggested Cafe Deville as being new to the town but quite yummy. The cafe was on my way so I cruised by to see how busy they were. Their lot was full but a spot opened up right out front so I parked, went in and took a seat at an open counter stool. I was immediately greeted and offered a menu. I suggested I wanted a beer and some food and Ben said that I came to the right place. We conversed beer for a moment and he brought me a very tasty Pilsner. I was already impressed. When he came back to see what sounded good to eat, I asked him what he suggested. He asked me to narrow my choices down and then suggested a turkey sandwich. There were several choices for sides including fries and onion rings, but I settled on the side salad when Ben said they make all their own dressings. I had no idea how great of a choice I had made. The sandwich was prepared quickly and Ben's wife, Michele served my food. What sat in front of me was a sandwich piled high, with a beautiful green salad and ramekin of fresh blue cheese dressing. The sandwich looked and smelled amazing but I couldn't help but gunning for the salad first. It was just mixed fresh greens with a little crumbled cheese but once dipped into the dressing I could not help but shoveling it into my mouth. I finished the salad and most of my first pint before even tasting the sandwich. If the salad was good, the sandwich was outstanding! Nice slices of roasted turkey seemingly freshly carved, some thick cut smoke bacon done just right, homemade pesto, thinly sliced ripe tomato and lettuce on grilled sourdough. When I was offered a turkey sandwich, this is not what I expected but so much more. I couldn't finish, asked for a box and the asked Ben if he has anything nearly as tasty as the Pilsner. He said yes, and brought me an equally yummy Kolsch. I left full, happy and anxious to share my experience with others. And by the way, Michele gabbed with me during my second beer. Coming from the restaurant industry myself, we had lots to talk about. I really enjoyed our conversation with her and found the entire experience fulfilling. Ben offers top notch craft, draft from the Central Coast as well as managing the menu. Michele, takes care of the front of the house and makes everyone feel special! Came here b/c Rancho Nipomo had too long of a wait - I was disappointed by that, but once I took the first bite of the pork slider, all of my disappointment went away. The servings are generous in size. The flavors were a perfect blend in the Strawberry Grilled Chicken Salad. EXCELLENT.

We went for lunch today after reading all of the rave reviews. The reviews were spot on. The food was delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful. My husband had the pastrami sandwich and I had the bacon and blue cheeseburger and we split some fries. He said it was the best pastrami sandwich she has ever had , and my bacon and blue cheeseburger was excellent. The shoes string french fries were exactly how they should be, seasoned perfectly and crisp. We will definitely be back to try some of the other food on their menu. read more

We've seen so many great reviews of this place and have been back twice but have unfortunately been disappointed overall. The ambiance & service were both amazing. This place has a lot of potential. The food was pretty good but we had some feedback. We ordered the goat cheese croquettes for an appetizer and for $12 we were expecting more than 6 tiny balls of food. The pretzel bites were very tasty & we would get those again. The tri tip sandwich had good flavor but the French roll was super small in our opinion. The fries could be improved as well. The brock sandwich was delicious. Ultimately we think the prices are a little steep for what you get. We understand it's expensive to run a business nowadays also though. We hope this place makes it in this tough industry. Nipomo needs a place like this. read more

The food @ Cafe Deville is delightful, the only issue is having to choose from the menu since everything is so appetizing. The service is excellent with minimal wait when crowded. The new facelift is calming, drawing new customers from all locations. You can have your meal inside or outside depending upon weather.
