There's never any sign so the only way to tell is to squirt a bit out. My kids got cups, and once noticing it was liquid threw the cups away. There was only about a quarter cup of icee in the cups. The owner proceeded to yell at them, call us thieves and said they were banned. I asked what they stole and he scolded them, saying he saw them throw away cups on the cameras. I apologized but then explained it was because the icee was just liquid (no sign saying it wasn't working either) and once they noticed, they threw away the cups in the trash. There was only about a 1/4 cup (if not less) of liquid in both cups that had been thrown away. They didn't put the cups back because they had liquid/residue in them and it would have just dumped on top of the other cups and an unsuspecting customer would get a dirty cup. I asked what we would possibly get out of throwing cups away but he wouldn't listen. He proceeded to yell and scold them when they said they didn't steal anything and he screamed that they were never allowed back. We walked out in the middle of the owner's tantrum because the conversation was clearly not going anywhere. I've spent lots of money at this place over the years, on gas and food despite its jacked up prices and the owners terrible customer service prior to this experience. Not to mention how dirty and unsanitary the place is. This final experience was the nail in the coffin and I will never return. I encourage others to not give them their business either. Anyway, I walked in, turned the corner, and almost immediately I spied the local wine, among a whole bunch of other local wines at decent prices. So, I talk to one the young fellows who work their & I placed an order for two cases... I was afraid that it would be discontinued.... but now, several months later I still see it there and now at Haggen. It is kind of cramped in there, and the first time I went there & turned around, I accidently knocked a bottle that was randomly sit on a box along side a windex bottle. I felt like an idiot bull in a china shop. Anyway, the owners were very cool, and they apologized...which was gracious. I was like holy crap, I am so sorry...but it only a White Wine anyway :) In this cramped space they somehow manage to pack lots of local wines, but you really need to look up, down, & bend down to see all of the selection. They also have an extensive beer selection, but few imports. Behind the counter they have the usual harder stuff & have some good vodkas. Despite ordering multiple entrees, I was given just one packet of sriracha and one packet of hoisin sauce. When I asked for enough sauces and utensils for the meal, it became clear that this was somehow an issue. To make matters worse, after I had already given my name, I was asked to produce my receipt, and the interaction became increasingly hostile. As someone who has spent years working in hospitality, I understand that great service is what turns first-time guests into loyal customers. We were friendly, tipped well on our first visit, and came back because we genuinely enjoyed the food. I expected the same level of hospitality in return. And the gentlemen who helped us the first time Told me his family was in the business for years in socal and he should be the only person interacting with guests.
