I have been to Cafe DeVille several times over the past year and every time it's been a wonderful experience. The food has always been delicious, the dining areas are always clean and the hospitality is top notch. Most recently, I dined with my brother and some friends and we all were pleased. I had the pulled pork sliders - loved the crispy cheese to compliment the juicy pork! The garlic cheese fries and hot wings we all shared were excellent. Cafe DeVille also has a unique assortment of beers from breweries outside of the local area, which is a nice way to to discover new favorites to check out. They often have live music on the weekends too, which just adds to the relaxed ambiance of the cafe. It seems to be a two tier kind of place - if you're friends with them you get great service, but if you're a stranger not so much. It was an uncomfortable feeling. The place is nice, the food is fine - it is on the expensive side for what you get, but mostly tasty. The female owner seems very nice, but the male owner not so much. He apparently is the beer bro but heavily favors IPA and was insulting to a customer because they didn't like IPA and that was 95% of the beer choices. It was uncomfortable to listen to. It was our first time, uncomfortable twice, so yeah not planning to return. read more

You can also tell how much pride they take in their food! I've gotten the turkey sandwich twice now, and both times, it's been amazing. I want to try something new, but I just love this! Amazing food and people! What an absolute gem of a find! This place isn't just a great restaurant because it only happens to be in a small town where there aren't any other options. The food is so good that I guarantee this restaurant would be getting rave reviews in any city. My wife booked a room at this cute little inn right around the corner so we decided to walk over to the restaurant because it was convenient, close and we were tired. We walked in and were warmly greeted & welcomed by Michelle. Asked what was good. She threw out like 10 different recommendations...essentially everything on the menu was being recommended. The two of us couldn't possibly order everything so we had to decide on 2 things. Michelle had recommended the pastrami sandwich but since we just had pastrami yesterday, we ordered a taco salad with chicken and the pesto burger with sweet potato fries. Since we had the inn to ourselves for the night, we ordered the food to go to take back to the inn. We open the boxes up and I stick a sweet potato fry in my mouth. Wow, it's delicious! And I'm not even a fan of sweet potato fries. Then I stick a tortilla chip from the taco salad in my mouth. How on earth does a cafe in a small town of Nipomo make tortilla chips that are better than tortilla chips from any Mexican restaurant I've ever been to before. Great start! The taco salad was just as excellent. Fresh ingredients! The pesto burger didn't disappoint either. Just so satisfyingly delicious. We were both full but because we were so impressed with everything, decided to walk back over to order the pastrami sandwich just to try it since Michelle had so highly recommended it. She was right. It didn't disappoint either. It was not a traditional pastrami sandwich since it contained lettuce and tomatoes but it was seriously amazing. We were both full already and let me tell you, it still blew both of us away. To top it all off, Michelle was so hospitable and friendly. Service even though we ordered everything for take out was first class. Highly recommend this amazing place! We'll definitely be back. I had the French Onion Soup that surpassed my expectations. The owner said it takes the chef two days to make it and you could tell. The flavors were phenomenal. Today, we went to Cafe DeVille for lunch. The ambiance indoors and outdoors was warm and welcoming. We were immediately greeted by the staff. We ordered a fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries, their rainy day special of tomato soup and grilled cheese, as well as their kids chicken tenders with fries. The fries across the board had the perfect texture and were very well seasoned. The fries chicken sandwich had great crunch/flavor with the perfect balance of savory and acidic flavor, from what I would reasonably assume were house made pickles. The grilled cheese and tomato soup made you feel right at home, in addition to the hospitality received from the staff. I am so glad that there is finally a place in Nipomo like this. Tried this place over the weekend and it wasn't what we expected based on reviews from other customers. Food was ok, service was not great. We are all about supporting small businesses so we try to eat local but this place was very disappointing. The patio and indoor dining areas are really nice and clean. Their customer service was poor and needs improvement. Since the moment we walked in we didn't feel welcomed. Everyone sitting around us was getting attended to with ordering their drinks and appetizers. We had to go inside to order any food and beer and once we were at our table we sat there half hour waiting for water. Food was nothing to brag about.
