Oh me, oh my, Olla. The cafe de Olla (drink) literally made me do a double take. Like to a coffee cup. No joke. This place is legit. Deets: 1. Saw lots of people drinking the iced Cafe de Olla, so I can only assume it is also delicious. 2. The place is TINY, so all of the people complaining about the wait... there are maybe 12tables... you're gonna have to wait 3. Can confirm, the Green Burrito is worth the price read more

It's been a while since I last ate here and it's honestly long overdue. The food here is amazing and I need to highlight their chilaquiles! We ordered the Azteca and poblanos and it's the best chilaquiles I've had in the SFV. Make sure you get there early if you want to dine here though. The restaurant is pretty small and the crowd is huge so the wait time can get pretty long, deservedly so. I believe there's only street parking too so you'll want to make sure you get there even earlier with time to look for parking. Must try if you want a good breakfast spot! read more

Finally got the time to try this place. People tell me to try but it's always busy and long wait. This morning it wasn't bad. Did the yelp waitlist and when I got there. Probably a 5-10 min wait. This place did not disappoint. I ordered the chilaquiles. It was fire. The chips weren't tough or soggy. It was one of the better green sauce Chilaquiles that I had. I would definitely come back for it. I also got their cafe de olla ice coffee. Taste so good. This place is a place to try. Definitely recommend it. The place is small and nice. Local spot. That's why it's long wait. All the locals are here lol. Service was great. Maybe that's why they keep it small. To keep service 5 stars. read more

Apparently, I been here before and how did I forget it was pretty good spot? Small restaurant in Burbank, they have about seven tables inside and some outside. We waited about 40 minutes to get a table on the Weekend which was not bad since I knew from different reviews. We had chilaquiles and French Toast and of course coffee. The chilaquiles are not spicy at all, I was not too happy about so they suggested to order grilled jalapeños and were not spicy either. The reason I still give the food a four is because it had flavor. Chilaquiles were juicy and tasty, crunchy, the French to french toast was delicious. I order a cafe de olla coffee. Everyone is raving on how great it is. However, for someone who loves strong coffee this taste more like a sugary drink. Not a fan. Since our server never approached us I asked another person working there if he could just add regular coffee to it just so I can have at least a hint of coffee. He said no, if it's sugary add water. I said to him, "don't tell me to add water to my coffee when I kindly asking you that it doesn't taste like a coffee" he said well you've never had this drink this is how it is. I asked him can we came it better for me. He said, "well if you want we can exchange the drink. I said "light ice" he brings me an ice coffee- SUPER watery. The entire time my bf and I were sitting on there- not ones did the server approach us. The chorizo SUPER salty. The banana pecan French toast are not a recommendation. Overall, we waited 1hr on the waiting list to have a bad experience l. I didn't enjoy anything about this. Literally, but the time we sat down there was jo waitlist because I checked on Yelp. I don't like leaving bad reviews. But if they get to see this review it's for them to learn from their customers and learn from them. It's so it doesn't happen to their future customers. It may not be the same for every customer but unfortunately, it happened to me and it was bad at the end I asked them not to charge me for the coffee. If I waited this long to eat at this place I wish it would have been pleasant. read more

My family and I were on vacation and in search of a place to eat some breakfast. My hubby came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Wow!! This place does not disappoint. I love getting breakfast here when I'm in the neighborhood. It's a tiny spot so the wait can get long, but the service is incredibly fast. I've gotten cafe de olla at a few Mexican breakfast spots, but I think theirs is the best. I love getting the chilaquiles here. Simple but wonderful. The tomato cream sauce on the chilaquiles suizos is decadent and goes really well with the tortilla chips. This time I got a chorizo hash plate, but it was super salty. It's the only Mexican breakfast plate that doesn't come with rice but it really could have used it to balance the saltiness of the chorizo. read more

Service is good, the workers are nice and available if you need anything. The ambiance is also nice; it's a small and cozy place. The food was okay, it tasted yummy, but it wasn't "Wow! Super delicious" I have definitely had tastier. Something I found super disappointing were their Horchata, Jamaica, and Orange drink. These drinks were not at all made from scratch, but rather powders and other "mix with water or milk" products. I found this incredibly disappointing and will not be coming back solely because of this. You can't call yourself a Mexican restaurant and not make your Horchata & Jamaica from scratch read more

Small little place.... And you will probably have to wait... but so worth it. I drank their cafe de olla without adding anything to it. It was delicious. Had their sopa de chile poblano. Oh so delicious, warmth in a bowl. Tried their chilaquiles divorciados, just my type of dish. Did ask for a plate or way to try their enchiladas.. they don't do them single only as a plate of two. A little disappointed with that. I want to see a combo where I can mix three of their enchiladas. But that's just my style. Food is great and worth the wait. read more

If you don't like to wait then don't come here. But like with everything sometimes the wait is worth it! The food is amazing! The service is unmatched and the coffee well you cannot go wrong with the cafe de olla. I do not mind waiting for amazing food and great ambiance. This place is known for their brunch but their dinner menu is just as good. The carne asada plate was delicious. Meat was tender and tasty as was the accompanying rice and beans. It's a simple dish done right. Enchiladas were on point and delicious. Only thing missing are salsas and more offerings for appetizers. Would be nice to include things like queso, salsas and chips as appetizers. Same goes for the plates. Bring out a nice creamy tomatillo or a savory red salsa to accompany the plates. Let me go ahead and start with the fact that the wait sucks. But I promise it's actually worth you waiting. I ended up waiting a total of I believe an hour and a half to get inside at the time. I did go on a Fourth of July weekend so it was pretty packed. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I think for what you pay for it's completely worth it. To this day, I can't find anything to how delicious it was. I am from Arizona so the experience here was amazing and I highly recommend. Also the rice has a flavor that is just perfect. I kid you not It's so hard to find good rice in Mexican restaurants. Anyways enjoy this gem and have a good one yall! read more

Went here during the week and there was still a small wait time when you join the waitlist. We ordered the Cafe de Olla of course. Best I have had so far. This is a must. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Kudos! So I have only been here once and if I can base it on my one experience, it would be the chorreadas. One of the best breakfast dish was an appetizer that threw me off in a positive way. A new fresh idea for breakfast. I am a fan. I will be back. Place is tiny, get there early. read more

It's amazing to me how often I have patronized this fine establishment, so enjoyed their food and service so much so that I keep forgetting to post up a review! After my recent visit, especially since the pandemic fiasco, I felt it was long overdue to post up my review. It is not surprising that there is consistantly a wait time of 45 minutes to an hour, as there are many patrons frequenting this location. Recently heard that they opened a new location in Monrovia, and heard from a friend who visited there, that they have quite a wait time there as well. But I digress and in my latest visit, my friend and I got ourselves on our waiting list and patiently waited until we received a text message for a seat assignment - the first available. We were seated outdoors, and were promptly able to order our favorite DEL Norte (Steak fajitas served with 2 eggs, chilaquiles poblanos & beans) and DEL Sur (Chicken fajitas served with 2 eggs, chilaquiles poblanos & beans) dishes. Their portions and savory tastefulness is ALWAYS on-point and fresh, and even after 7 plus years, the taste still the same - delectable and savory! Cafe de Olla has become my to-go nostalgic Mexican Cuisine and experience every time I'm in the Burbank area! We also tried something new, a slight deviation from our normal hot Cafe de Olla - we had it iced and WOW, that was fantastic!! Perfect for our outdoor seating experience and it went well with our meal! The only downside is that there are no refills, unlike the hot version, which is bottomless. Service is efficient and friendly, their wait system is well organized. ABSOLUTELY will visit again, this place is a GEM in Burbank!! read more

Always super long waits. They turn off their online waitlist and when I called this girl Elsa is so rude. I live 1 hour away. It wouldn't make sense to drive there and then wait over another hour to get seated. This is horrible. read more

I'm not sure if I'd say this is an authentic Mexican restaurant. The food was not bad, but i felt like there is room for more flavor. It was a bit strange because not all of the sandwiches come with chips with it. You have to order them on the side for an extra cost with many of the sandwiches. The appetizer was also sub par. The salsa on the side was bland and very little spice. It resembled a tomato paste but it was supposed to be salsa?? They also did not give any utensils or napkins until we asked for them. I unfortunately wouldn't visit this spot again. The food was very underwhelming along with the customer service. read more

I have driven pass this restaurant so many times and always see a huge crowd waiting to be seated. On a rainy LA day I decided to try it out, and I was not disappointed! The only bad thing about this place is the size of the restaurant and seating. You can wait up to an hour on a weekend. It gets crowded really fast. Not sure why they haven't expanded yet. But the service and food is always amazing read more

Absolutely recommend this place!!! Be sure to use the remote wait line feature in Yelp because the wait time on weekends and weekdays are 30-40 min on Avery!! But worth the wait!!! My son and I tried the chilaquiles divorciado, burritos especial and the café olla, a cinnamon flavored coffee. Sooo good!! Great service,courteous and fast. read more

Service was trash. Food was okay. This place is overhyped. The coffee was very sweet and I believe you get free refills on the hot coffee. I always come to this please because I like it, I love the food, but the service is changing. First of all I did a Yelp reservation because usually you have to wait for more than one hour and I tough it was going to be faster wrong I arrived with my family and the app said 3 people ahead of you perfect time, wrong they remove my name from the list saying you need to check in a least 30 min ahead , so what's the F#@k€n point of do the reservation if I still have to wait for almos an hour, YELP Need to consider this And also the owner of the place, either you "RESPECT" the reservations or remove that service from Yelp, I'm a business owner and like a owner I make try to make things right especially with a service online, if is not good for me or my customers I remove it. Once we where inside one of the waitress first guy from reception, no manners at all, he stated putting the utensils, with out saying excuse me or anything, The OWNER needs to teach the principals , manners before everything, you guys are in a restaurant, we are paying for your services, we are not getting it for free, I always tip a least $10 today I'm leaving tip just for the second waitress. I've been here twice now and honestly, it's just not worth the hassle. They have the feature where you put your name down via Yelp and they give you an estimated time to come in, which basically means nothing. The first time I used it, and the estimate wasn't even close. We put our names down at 10:30, it said to come in at 11:45, and we weren't seated till 1:15. The hostess said that app is not reliable and we're better off just coming earlier and putting our names down in person. So the next time, I showed up at 9, and they said it'd be about a 45 min to an hour wait and we were not seated until 11:45. Every time I went back to ask for status, they seemed bothered that I was asking. On top of everything else, they ended up giving my table to the wrong person so we had to wait even longer. You're probably wondering why I even stayed...well, I'm stubborn and my friends really wanted to try the place, so I decided to wait it out. Not worth going back a third time, though. The first time was cool because they gave us free refills on the cafe de olla (which was actually very good). Well, that's not a thing anymore. The food is pretty pricey and nothing mind-blowing, so definitely not worth the wait. Also the place is very small, cramped, and loud.
