Very nice employees! Nice atmosphere for coffee dates or doing work. Ordered an iced latte with sugar free brown sugar cinnamon flavor and an extra shot of espresso added, and a chocolate cookie order came up to $14. Latte was very tasty! They have milk alternatives. The cookies and pastries are from saffron bakery, and you have the option of warming them.

My view from Cafe de Fleur, featuring the iced turmeric latte.

Cafe de Fleur is doing a lot with a very small space. They manage to make it inviting and comfortable despite having little room to work with. However, the seating available doesn't accommodate the flow of traffic, and I've found myself struggling to find a seat on almost every occasion I've visited. When I visit a coffee shop, I'm almost always either meeting with someone or sitting to work, so it isn't ideal for me. Where Cafe de Fleur shines is its actual menu offerings. The drinks are excellent, and they stock pastries from Saffron Bakery. I had a wonderful iced London Fog on my last visit, but I'm also a fan of their turmeric latte. I'm especially impressed that they offer lactose-free milk as an option - I don't see that often, and I think it's a great example of how hard they work to make their shop welcoming. Lastly, I have to shout out the lovely staff. Every time I've stopped in, the staff are so friendly and sweet!

Cute little place in downtown Summerville. I chose this place because they had some GF options for bakery items. I got a decaf, the everything bagel and chocolate chip cookie. The staff behind the counter were very helpful and friendly. It's a nice coffee shop outside of cuppa manna!

So happy to have another little coffee shop in Summerville. I came in mid week in the morning and there was still plenty of seating options for me. Staff was very friendly and food and cappuccino were overall good. I would def try a specialty beverage next time to see if anything is standout compared to some of the other coffee shops in our area.

I got the Woodstock drip coffee (I let the barista pick based on my preference for low acidity coffee), the Turkey C sandwich, my son got the banana bread and a PSL, my daughter's got a chai and blueberry muffins. My kids loved their treats and drinks, admittedly they are an easy audience. I enjoyed my coffee, as hoped for it was smooth a law acid, despite drinking it black. The sandwich was absolutely outstanding. Bacon was thick and smoky, the roll had just the right "squish" and "chewiness" of a good hard roll, and it wasn't greasy or sloppy at all, which is exactly why I picked it. The Mediterranean salad was not quite what I expected, I thought it would involve black olives and feta cheese, but it had neither, and I appreciated that it was different and not too oily. The food prices feel a touch high but if you look at the quality of the food, and their use of premium ingredients, it is reasonable for what you get. Staff was friendly and good came out fast. There is a long table for bigger groups and small tables for up to four to sit. In general, Summerville has been mostly misses for me on food, but I like Coastal Coffee and would return if I was in the area and wanting a bite or a brew. J.Ja

What's better than a piping hot cup of fresh Joe, or... for those who defy the norm, iced coffee?…read more I can think of many things and being a former comedian, I'll refrain from stating. However, what tires my bones to the core is the inauthenticity of people that have taken over coffee culture; with their man-buns, little lap tops writing "the next great American novel," forearmed tattooed and blue haired activist that... Oh sorry, I got off topic a bit, shades of living in Austin TX. That said, I see the environment at Biggby set up to cater to those people, yet the new gen hippy takeover hasn't started. No, what I see from this dainty coffee bar are inviting pastel-colored walls, light toned wood chairs and tables, crayon inspired specials written on the windows and where ever along with their merch being pushed dead in front. It's an ok vibe in here and the people are simple, thus my whole rant about generation 3.14 isn't applicable here. As for the staff they're great and receptive of what you want to drink as well as giving suggestions. I got there when a lot of younger staff were working so I tried to spark up a conversation. Specifically, if she's tried Kopi Luwak (google it) and if she liked it. She had no idea what I was talking about so I switched to Taylor Swift, to which the conversation picked up. Concern for this generation resonated in my head, but hey at least we were talking, and she didn't ask to chat via snap chat! I kid... I kid. The staff here are very nice and they were playing 80s music (see how I dated myself?) which "I can name that song in three notes" and did. While I'm a medium roast coffee kind of guy and I like my coffee like the women I date; hot, sweet and blonde. I vary my selection by what I'm in the mood for, sometimes latte, sometimes hot or iced, sometimes mocha, you get the drift; and yes I'm talking about coffee (get your mind out of the gutter). But what I do appreciate is creativity in a beverage and a joint with the courage to put a creation on their menu. When I read the Butter bear latte stood out and I knew that was what I wanted. The butterscotch punched me in the mouth as a "you've never met someone like me before" love tap. The caramel snuck up from behind and smoothed out the experience while the coffee kept the band playing nice together. Scanning their menu, Biggby does commit to giving something different a real go and I applaud them for it. In summary, Biggby grinds their beans to order and this really enhances the quality of their coffee. Add to that they create an environment where one can feel safe while sitting inside or just stopping by with enthusiastic employees and it's a recipe for success. While I didn't sample their "edibles" (how's my parking?) they looked wonderful. To finish, the employees are great people, the ambiance is fun and the coffee is great. Stop by if you want something good to pick yourself up or rub elbows with a future leader of America.

We actually stumbled upon Luxe Bar & Bistro while planning to head downtown, but a bridge closure caused major traffic, so we decided to change plans and just find somewhere local to enjoy a holiday cocktail. After checking reviews online, Luxe Bar & Bistro stood out, so we decided to give it a try -- and we're so glad we did. They have a large outdoor space, but of course, it started to rain as soon as we arrived. Luckily, they also have a covered front patio with a few chairs, which worked out perfectly. We each ordered two cocktails. I started with Under the Mistletoe -- Tito's, house-made rosemary simple syrup, lemon juice, topped with soda ($10). This was hands down the most delicious holiday drink I've had so far this season. It was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and hit the spot. I also tried the seasonal special, a Pomegranate Cranberry Sangria ($10), which was equally good. My husband ordered the Tipsy Grinch-- Malibu rum, mango purée, blue curaçao, pineapple juice, and soda water ($9.50). He said it was sweet but not overly sweet and really enjoyed it. He also had the Dirty Snowman Martini with RumChata, Disaronno Amaretto, vanilla vodka, and a cinnamon sugar rim ($13). He substituted almond milk for the half-and-half, and it was still creamy and delicious. We also had a great conversation with Natalie and quickly realized we had a lot in common, especially when it comes to dogs and the importance of pet safety. I always love meeting a fellow dog mom who shares the same values. The service and ambiance were excellent, and the space was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We will 100% be back -- and next time, we definitely plan on trying the food.
