We heard the rave about this new bakery/coffee place and decided to make a drive from West Ashley but let me tell you, this place worth the visit! Such a cute place with plenty of Italian bakery and I ordered the Dubai chocolate cookies, it is a bit pricey ($8) but it was so good. I also bought the loaves of bread, my kids really love it and iced coffee latte. I am very particular in ordering my bread and pastries because I want to make sure they don't use enriched flour (We try to avoid anything that has folic acid added to it) and I spoke with the owner/baker and he showed me the flour that they used, which is Italian flour without all the nasty stuffs and imported directly from Italy. This place also has quite selection of Italian goods, sandwiches, and cozy area to hang out while you are enjoying your coffee/dessert. Talucci's is definitely a MUST place to visit! read more

We were celebrating and wanted to try Talucci's for that authentic Italian bakery experience so we took the drive to Summerville on a weekday afternoon. The case wasn't full, but they still had plenty of offerings. Since we don't get out this way and were excited to try it, we may have splurged a little. We spent a little over $100 and left with a grocery bag of baked goods and a couple lattes. We had assorted Italian cookies, creme brulee, a lobster tail, cannoli, and more. Everything ranged from pretty good to excellent. With the prices being what they are, I think it's best to find the unique items you love and stick to those. Out of all the cookies, the ones I'd come back for were the pignoli... they were phenomenal. of the larger items, the lobster tail with pistachio creme was the winner. The creme brulee and cannoli were good, but nothing special or that I couldn't get for less elsewhere. That being said, the excellent items were totally worth it and I'll be back for more. I'd also love to try the sandwiches on the deli side and the focaccia pizza. Bonus that the place feels old and cozy inside and offers a wide selection of imported snacks and drinks. If I lived close by, I'd be there all the time, but to come from Park Circle it will be a treat from time to time. read more

Walking into Talucci's is an experience of its own. The smells, the decor, the service were all exceptional! The lines were long with people from all ages eager to try the yummy goodness! I'm a chocolate feen so the candies drew me in and I bought several to bring back home for my kiddos to try. I hate that I'd already had lunch before I visited. I'm surely looking forward to lunch soon in the future. I did ask about gluten-free options for lunch etc and they do have them!! read more

What a treasure to find this Italian bakery and cafe. There's a lot going on in there. Deli, pizzeria, pasta dishes and more. They have pistachio croissants and lobster tails, and affogato. The interior is quite charming. So happy to have this place nearby. read more

We lack a traditional bakery in this area, and while I don't live in Summerville I was happy to find this place. Worth the drive and we'll laid out. Customer convenience was thought of. You can go down the whole line of goodies and pick what you want, no craving over or around customers, just a straight line through. We were able to select a few nibbles before checking out. Yummy! We tried the everything bagel with cream cheese and rum almond croissant. Both pastries were very yummy and fluffy. When you come in, they have all of their pastries and desserts on display in one line. They have a separate counter where you can order coffee and espresso drinks. Everything looked very yummy and we would've loved to try more so we will definitely be back! They have an area where you can sit with tables, which is nice and cozy. *Note the counter girl did make me aware a lot of their pastries have nuts if you have a peanut allergy.* read more

Not kid-friendly. I ordered 3 pastries,, a coffee, and a cup of milk for my daughter. They charged me $5.50 for the coffee and $5.50 for the milk. When I questioned the milk price, they said yes--that's the price, even though a full gallon of milk in store costs the same. . I checked the receipt and saw they simply rang it up as two coffees: one for the coffee and one for the milk. Charging coffee prices for a cup of milk is kinda ridiculous. read more

Very excited to welcome Talucci's Bakery into Historic Downtown Summerville. It's the bakery we've all been waiting for! Lots of space indoors to sit and chat or even stay and work, or out front on short central. You definitely want to arrive early for breakfast items like bagels, muffins, croissants + because it was selling out fast. We were still able to get our hands on some delicious pastries though. I had one of the best lattes I've had in a while, an Italian Wedding cookie (no eggs), a strawberry gelato and a strawberry Italian cake. I'm setting my alarm early for Wednesday so we can try some of the other bread and pastry items. Arrive early noon for sweet treats like tiramisu, eclairs, cannolis, lobster tail sfogliatelle, and more! After seeing so many positive reviews of the bakery, we decided to give this place a shot. We had a similar bakery where we used to live so have been looking for a replacement. The location is convenient for us and has a nice old world ambiance. Staff are on the ball and quick to help. The products are beautiful. The sizes are immense. That factor helps to justify some pretty high prices, but no longer unusual, for this kind of product. But some things are not as good as the best we've had. The croissants were delicious and well made with a fluffy interior. But the outside was a bit on the day old hardness side, necessitating a quick shot in the microwave. The cannoli were also a bit on the hard side. The filling was generous but a little sweeter than we would expect from an Italian cream. This may be a concession to local taste, so not completely unexpected. Having come from a time and place where there was an Italian store on every corner, I have a certain expectation [stores with open barrels of olives, octopus, etc] So the takeaways are that it is among the best in this part of the world. It is a luxury bakery, so expect luxury prices. The staff are wonderful. But not everything may be perfectly fresh. It leans slightly towards American versions of sweetness rather than old school Italian. So recommended, but not the end of my journey for traditional Italian desserts. Yes, I may be picky.... I've heard so many great things about Talucci's that I had to try it for myself. It was sooo cozy and I can't wait to go back! We parked in the free parking garage down the street from the bakery, just a quick walk away. The bakery is tucked down a cute brick walkway. There was a long line when we walked in which only continued to grow, but the line moved quickly. The pastries and baked goods were fresh and there were so many options to choose from! You have to order coffee from a separate area which was kind of confusing, but made sense for people that were only visiting for coffee to not have to wait in the same pastry line. There were plenty of cozy corners to choose from for seating, including a huge outdoor space through the other side of the building. The hanging flowers everywhere made for a lovely ambience and there were even spaces with outlets for doing some remote work from the bakery. I would love to go back here in the evening for the fresh deli items and wine selection! read more

I've been a couple of times now. I bought a box of cookies for a local business and had to get coffee and pistachio croissant while I was there. Though a little pricey (the cookies are $35/pound and the croissant was $6) the pastry items were amazing. Flaky, buttery, flavorful. They use high-end ingredients and you can tell. Drove an hour specifically to get the lobster tail pastry and it was as delectable as I expected. For $12, you get a giant (it's about 3/4 of the length of my forearm) amazingly flakey and elusive pastry (I've never had one outside of Italy until Talucci's) that takes mad skills to make (I can bake just about anything including pâte à croissant and Chinese water/oil-pastry and I have not/would not attempt this). Because of the drive, I got one to eat there and another one to go. Talucci's Bakery: please please please open a bakery on Johns Island! We are a large and continually growing population and a captive audience (only two ways with tons of traffic to get off the island) without a single good bakery on island (closest ones in Seabrook/West Ashley/James Island... there's one bagel spot here, but that's it), plus you'd get the Kiawah crowd during tourist season!! read more

Lunch midweek. We ordered 2 sandwiches from a very limited menu. No sides are offered so it's nothing like an actual deli with salads and such. Took our Italian sub and sausage sandwich to back patio. First, the space is well decorated and cute. But at the prices and quality offered, its not enough. The Italian was on not- so-fresh bread (being a baked and all.. this should have been a hovering for them), a little skimpy on meat and size for the price. And per the posted picture, there was a minuscule dot of oil and vinegar. Wow. Second sandwich starts with a decent sausage but again the bread wasn't fresh and the entire sandwich was dry. So dry that BFF asked for a side of mayo. No mayo. I get it.. sticking to that Italian deli idea I guess. Didn't matter, mayo wouldn't have rescued that poor sandwich. Summerville is under the spell of this cute little bakery, but 3 visits later I just don't see it. And I swear the employees are straight up miserable. You know when you hear so many good things about a place and in your mind you're thinking, "Ha! We'll see about that!"? Well I certainly saw about that! I know they just opened, but they're going to grow out of this location very quickly. I arrived shortly after they opened and after a quick walk through the farmer's market early Saturday morning. There were only a handful of people in the bakery which was lovely for me since I was immediately visually overwhelmed with the beautiful desserts, cookies, bagels, and pastries. What does one get with such a beautiful assortment of goodies? I settled on a piece of strawberry/vanilla cake, a cinnamon fritter, and a cinnamon roll - all of which I took as takeaway. I did have a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on a croissant and a dirty chai tea latte in the adorable, yet small seating area between the shop and bakery. Upon first glance, the egg on the sandwich looked premade like you might get at a free continental breakfast. However I was pleasantly surprised at the perfection with which the egg was cooked. Soft, wet yolk but not runny in the least. The croissant was perfectly buttery with a delicious crunch and softness. The sausage had a little kick to it. I did feel it was missing a sauce or something? Maybe a little syrup? I am a sweet and savory combo lover though so that's just preference. My beverage was nothing of great significance, but it was tasty! While I sat and read my book and enjoyed my breakfast the pace definitely picked up in the small space. The employees were quick, polite, and observant. I had no intention of eating an entire cinnamon roll and piece of strawberry/white cake in one day, but here I am. While my belly is overly full, I'm happy. That is one of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had. It's a croissant with cinnamon and sugar in between the layers and a cream cheese icing (read: my dream). As for the cake, I need their strawberry dealer because each strawberry was perfectly ripe and sweet. The cake was light, airy, and moist with a vanilla bean flavor. Aside from cream cheese frosting, I don't care for frosting, but the small amount of whatever was on this piece was divine. As for the cinnamon fritter - I wasn't a fan. It felt like a softer dense biscuit with a hard strudel on top. Nothing BAD, but nothing great. That was a throw away to me. Overall, will return without hesitation and may start a petition for another location and expansion. read more

Such a cute shop that's perfect for meeting up with friends or read a book for a little. It was a little warm when I was in there, but it's almost summer so that's to be expected. The pepperoni hot honey pizza is absolutely delicious! The crust is airy with a good crunch, probably the best crust I have had, and the flavors are divine! I was able to eat about half of the pizza before starting to get a bit full, but the flavor makes me want to eat the whole thing. I also ordered a iced caramel latte with oatmilk and it's definitely landed as one of my favorite latte places now. On top of that I got a Nutella croissant and cinnamon fritter, but haven't gotten around to trying them yet because all I want is the pizza lol. It's a bit of a rush going in, but lady who took my order and the barista were both super nice and friendly! Next door they have extra seating and a cute little shop to buy an assortment of items.
