Finally checked this place out on a Friday afternoon and it did not disappoint! We were greeted by friendly employees behind the counter who helped to explain their drink menu and desserts. Luckily, considering it was early afternoon, they still had a decent variety of desserts to select from. Their drink menu is very limited, but we chose the honeycomb latte, which was absolutely incredible! (Your dentist won't be thrilled by your choice, however, lol) We also tried their cake bowl of the day and a huge salted chocolate chip cookie, which was probably one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever tasted! The cake bowl was some sort of mixed berry, it was very tasty! There is some indoor seating, but not a lot, as well as a few tables outside when it cools off. The prices could be considered slightly high, but I felt that the quality made for a good value. So, if you're looking for a traditional coffee shop, this is not it. We actually drove from Mount Pleasant to Summerville to try Swank and let me just say... it was worth every single mile. The deserts are just outstanding. All made in house.. once they are gone, they are gone. The Banana Pudding was amazing. A huge container.. easily enough for 3-4 people. We also bought 4 Macarons .. all different flavors and they were delicious. Just know that they do not open until 11am.. we had a wait of about 15 min. Worth it. They are also closed on Sunday Monday's. It's very chic inside, they have a small seating area & of note they are about to open a Creamery right next door. That will be yum. I finally got to come myself and they had the earl grey creme brulee macaron! I got 2 of them, along with the lemon merengue, ube cheesecake and salted caramel for my daughter. Ube cheesecake is my favorite and I lovedddd the lemon one. I think that's one of my favorite flavors. And it wasn't too sweet or too sour. The earl grey was perfect. It wasn't sweet , subtle earl grey taste and the taste of the burnt sugar on top tied it together. I got banana pudding and cake snacks for my daughter's teachers because they are amazing from the last time I had it. I recently visited Swank Desserts and picked up a variety of treats, including several cookies, a brownie, macarons, and a red velvet cake. The chocolate chip, red velvet cheesecake, and Biscoff cookies were absolute standouts, and the macarons were equally delicious! Stopped in and got a pair of salted chocolate cookies, a honeycomb drink, and a crème brûlée macaron. Decided after five years it was time to update this review! I am still a die hard fan girl - Swank just keeps getting better and better! I feel like people sleep on the drinks but the lemonades are always refreshing and flavorful. I usually snag a chocolate chip cookie for my husband and either banana pudding or red velvet cake for myself and they are consistently delicious! I see some reviews mentioning higher prices and while that is true, they are clearly displayed on the wall and you can taste the quality ingredients they use! As someone who has eaten QUITE a few of their desserts (aka everything - literally), I can tell you there is something to please everyone. I also snagged a pumpkin crème brûlée macaroon and lastly a cookie butter cookie. I must say it's a cute little shop with nice hints of blue and white. The first thing I ate was the pumpkin crème brûlée macaron. To me it tasted like pumpkin pie, which I thought was good just a little on the sweeter side. Next thing I ate was the banana pudding. This business is in the heart of Summerville,SC. The place is bright and very sleek because of the color combinations. The staff was very direct and to the point. Ask what you would like, check out and told have a great day. Didn't quite get the warmth persay but it gives grab and go. They do have a few tables inside and a few places to sit outside as well. I have been to this shop four times now. My favorites include the sausage onion biscuits, the Apple pies (which could use a lot less icing.... But none the less are still good), the macron cookies, the sweet potato cheesecake (phenomenal), and obviously the banana pudding (it's a favorite for everyone for the most part). The cake cups... I will say they are not that flavorful even after letting them sit room temp. If you're looking for cake that is going to change your life this is 100% not the place lol everything looks way better than it tastes but that is just my opinion! I had seen this place on TikTok and had been dying to go! I LOVE macarons which of course is what drew me in. My sister in law and I each got a creme brûlée macaron. THEY WERE DELICIOUS!!! I also got the brownie for us as well. It had caramel and Nutella as well. It was very yummy! It was a more fudgey than cakey type of brownie. We also got the honeycomb cold brew, which I think was their current special coffee. It was very pretty and it was pretty good. I run there when I see the chocolate chip cheesecake bar, or the brown sugar pecan car, which are 2 of my favorites. The Swank brownie is a regular on the menu and is so rich that I can take 2 bites and save the rest for another time. Her freshly made drinks, like passion fruit & thyme lemonade are so refreshing. Saturday mornings there are brunch items on the menu, and sometimes sell out quickly. The fried chicken & pimento cheese on a freshly made biscuit is delicious! Pepperoni & hot honey focaccia and brown butter cinnamon buns are a couple of the regular brunch items. Different seasonal items pop up on the menu, and holiday specials grab a lot of attention. Sometimes freshly made flavored ice cream is offered by the pint. Since they are calling for rain this afternoon I decided I would get up and get out to explore the scenes early this morning. I was hoping to go to one of the local farmers market, but was disappointed twice. Charleston farmers market decided to close due to the expected weather conditions and Summerville doesn't begin until April. So I decided to swing on by Swank Desserts after seeing all the deliciousness they were creating on their Instagram stories. I was pleasantly surprised that I was the first to arrive. This is unusual because most days there is a line all the way down the sidewalk, but I guess people are still moving slow due to Day light savings. Like I mentioned, I was first and I arrived around 9:20. Maybe 10 minutes before opening, there were about 15 other customers. They are known to have up to 50+ customers around this time. They are celebrating Macaron Day so I knew I would be getting a few of those. I was all set and went to order the chorizo + potato hand pie and was totally disappointed to hear that they only had the apple. I told the cashier that it was on today's menu and she politely explained that she was the reason why it was not available and humbly apologized. I was totally disappointed because I really was looking forward to having this as my breakfast. So I settled for the pepperoni + hot honey focaccia bread and it didn't disappoint. It is delicious! I'm glad I ordered two. They are definitely large in size but you will want to have two. I also ordered the Rose'+ Strawberry and Black pepper honey truffle macarons. You should definitely give them a try. I purchased the Apple hand pie and will feast on that later. Everything I've ever purchased from Swank it's always top notch. I loved the little sweets, but wasn't a fan of the frosting texture for the cake. This review is 100% tilted towards the macarons because they were absolutely mind blowing: large, tall and flavor combos were unique!
