We have been so excited to try Bruster's Ice Cream in Summerville! We have not had one in the Charleston area since the one in North Charleston, near Charleston Southern closed years ago. We have been watching for them to finally open. My husband and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. Bruster's is in a great spot and is super cute with a nice outdoor seating area with lots of seating. The day we went there was plenty of room to sit down. The ice cream was as delicious as we remembered! I had the Birthday Cake and my husband had the Graham Central Station. We were sad that the waffle cones seemed stale and they definitely didn't fill the cone with ice cream. The service was okay, they seemed a bit overwhelmed when we were there. Compared to the other ice cream shops in the area, the price is about the same but it seems that you get less for your money. I am giving them three stars for now but will try again to see if they improve since they are newly open.

Came to check out the new ice cream place in town. Pros: they make new flavors daily and have a ton of flavors. My little one was "smaller than the cone" so she got a free ice cream and was so excited. They give tons of samples and the portions are generous. Cons: slightly pricey and seating is only outdoors.

I am not a fan if ice cream but this specific place was great. The service is top notch. They are welcoming and treat you well. The ice cream is good and consistent. It is a very clean and nice area outside to enjoy your frozen treat.

The cream puff was light, delicately crisp, and filled with lusciously smooth, fresh cream and berries that tasted rich, lightly sweetened, and indulgent without being too heavy. We're already looking forward to coming back to try the house-made, artisanal gelato, wood-fired pizza, deli sandwiches, and sfogliatellas. Easy parking, warm, attentive service, and a beautiful, inviting, European-inspired ambiance make Tallucci's an absolute must-visit.

Iced coffee was refreshing I came back the next morning for another round. It was flavorful yet not sugary. It definitely gave me a kick and got addicted to it, except I'm only in the area for 4 days. Staff and manager were friendly yet professional. Although I was charged twice, the manager assured me they would fix it once the line was manageable. Somehow I trusted her word for it, just the manner with which she handled it was text book! Indeed, saw the overcharged taken care of by the next day. A must stop in downtown historic Charleston for sure! Great awesome pastries, sandwiches Parisian style made and clean refreshing breakfast beverages. This is the best patisserie option which actually lives up to its name, unlike those wannabe k ones!!!

And I'm happy to report that it exceeded my expectations! The slice of pie was HUGE (very tall) and it had some kind of a sauce/cheese combo on top of the tomatoes that was fantastic. My husband and I also shared the following: cinnamon rolls, salted caramel brownie and a white chocolate raspberry bread pudding muffin. All were huge, rich in flavor and very satisfying. Because if I need it and it's not there I'll come find you. :) The filling was the best filling I've ever had. The baked portion, too. And I grew up enjoying the bakeries of NYC and the area. What made it so good? It was not a disgustingly sweet, gelatinous blob. It had what I could only call a "natural" style filling. Not gelatinous. Not super sweet. One bite and you'll know that this is the way it's really supposed to be. It will ruin your enjoyment of all other blueberry danishes. Like I said, don't order one. :) Bon appétit.

This cozy little spot, sits in an older plaza off Old Trolley Rd in Summerville. The owner couldn't have been nicer. We got a peanut chocolate pie that was just so good. The peanut butter filing was rich, and the crust was more like a chocolate brownie. We also got 2 chocolate chip cookies. The cookie was large and dense, which we thought was perfect for sharing. I also ordered a latte and was excited to see they use king bean for their espresso, which is a really good local brand. The only thing I didn't like was the Torani syrup for flavors. It's a personal preference as a former barista, but making your own syrups or using Monin tastes better in my opinion. I ordered a whoopie pie as well to go and it was good. It was pretty sweet and large so it took about 3 days to eat. It still seems like they are working out the kinks as a newly opened business. I look forward to this fall holiday season and what they will come out with next!
