Its location was ideal: just a quick walk around the corner from the Hyatt Place where we stayed all week, making it way too easy to justify a few scoops after dinner. We even offered to take the teens to other ice cream spots in the surrounding area and they simply preferred to go to Jeni's. My only real regret? Not signing up for the rewards sooner. Given how many nights our teens/family ended at Jeni's, I could've been rolling in free scoops by midweek. Lesson learned. The rewards program offers discounts, free ice cream, merch, bonus perks, and even a free upgrade just for signing up. You'll a reward every time you purchase ice cream in a scoop shop, via the Jeni's app, and at jenis.com. Plus, members-only goodies like birthday ice cream and early access to new flavors. Yes, please! Jeni's always has a great selection of gourmet ice cream flavors, including seasonal options. If you sign up for their rewards system and download the app, you receive a 3-scoop special to use on your birthday or in the four weeks following it. I like that you have four weeks to use the birthday reward. The Gooey Butter Cake is one of my favorite flavors, and on my last visit, I also tried the Cookies and Cream and the Miso Butterscotch Brownie, a seasonal variety. The three paired well together, although Cookies and Cream is probably the safest option if you're not sure what kind of ice cream you want. You can try samples as well, and the workers are patient. If you ask, they'll recommend combinations- and the menu also has a few combos listed. I've never had a scoop of Jeni's that I didn't like, though. This Jeni's is super small, with no indoor seating. We stopped for ice cream after a day at the beach and Jenj's hit the spot. We loved tasting the different flavor concoctions. A small is 2 1/2 scoops so you can choose 2 flavors which was great. My son got the trusty mint chocolate chip (both scoops), my daughter had the honey vanilla and salted caramel. I got gooey butter cake and goat cheese and cherries. I'm an ice cream buff, but that also makes me picky. Do yourself a favor and try Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream. I went with 3 others, and none of us had been to a Jeni's before. The store (in Mt. Pleasant) was small, enough room for the tubs of ice cream in the display freezers, a rest room, and a stand up area. Outside were tables and chairs under umbrellas, normally the place where you'd enjoy your choices, but it was raining so we stayed indoors. Doing so gave us a chance to chat with the 2 employees, they were both personable, fun, and boosters of Jeni's. Spending time with them was almost as enjoyable as the ice cream. Almost. First of all, Jeni's comes in a waffle cone or waffle cup. We all chose cups. Then comes the hard part - which 3 flavors to choose? I ended up with Sparkling Cherry Pie, Lemon and Blueberry, and Coffee with Cream and Sugar. As I dug my spoon in, I tasted the magic of Jeni's. The flavors are fresh and clean, they aren't cloyingly sweet, and they melted wonderfully in my mouth, creamy and full of essence. The magic isn't only in the individual flavors, although the lemon was the best I've had, but in the pairings and combos. The depth and richness of the blueberry coupled with the slightly astringent lemon was perfect. The waffle is a welcome compliment to the ice cream. It's not too sweet, it holds up well, and it cradles the last bit of now-melted ice cream for the last bite. I'm already scheming my next set of choices. read more

Tried another day and we walked in and they greeted us immediately. Super nice staff. So nice that she gave me another full cone because the top of the mountain fell on the floor. So good almost forgot to get a picture my bad, I actually did forget to take a shot of my waffle cone. They have a large display sign with the flavors. Super good Brown butter almond, PNut butter with chocolate chips, and chocolate. Melted quicker than the Witch on Wizard of Oz. Yes as others have said the scoops are small but the awesomeness of their creamy yummy flavors made up for it. I haven't been to downtown location so I have nothing to compare it to. No seating inside or out so grab your deliciousness & jump in the car and Master Blaster the AC. Plenty of parking, just opened so very clean & nice decor. Too bad about no seating. Jeni's has great ice cream, but the staff at this location is awful and I won't be going back. The line was out the door and only one employee was handling all the orders. Another employee came out from the back and grabbed a bucket of liquid from under the counter and started cleaning. She dunked her entire bare hands in the bucket, rang out the rag and wiped the counters. The liquid from the bucket sloshed onto the ice cream inside the cartons! It was gross! She then put the bucket away and asked if she could get us ice cream without washing her hands or wiping them off!
