    Nutty caramel corn

We enjoyed our ice cream and also some velvety smooth chocolates and caramel corn that was loaded with assorted nuts. They also have a multitude of fudge flavors. Everything tasted freshly made. Worth a stop to satisfy your sweet tooth

We are back in Charleston and had to see if Kilwin's was as good as I remembered it being and it was! This time I got to experience someone actually making the chocolates that are displayed in the beautiful glass cases. It's always a joy Charleston, made even sweeter by ice cream!

"All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt." ~Charles M. Schulz - There was a time when I didn't care about chocolate, but that was then, and this is now. "Now" I love chocolate! Kilwin's is how I spell chocolate here. It's fabulous chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate! Cute, little ice cream shop with lots of flavors to choose from. I got an apple pie ice cream cone, very different and unusual. Taste exactly like an apple pie.

Sooooo I have to admit that during my previous experiences, I've left feeling like Kilwin's is good, but a little over rated. This was my first visit to this location and it was great! Kilwin's is one of the best places to indulge in sweets. There are an array items for the chocolate and nut lovers! Personally, I'm simply an ice cream kind of girl, but Kilwin's is much more than that. There are chocolate covered apples, fudge, toffee, brittle and more! They even have great hot chocolate. On this occasion, the kind employee asked what flavor I usually order and I told her "butter pecan." She suggested the New Orleans Pecan Praline and said it was "way better" than butter pecan so I gave it a shot. I was so glad I took her up on her suggestion. It was perfect. Very flavorful and creamy. The store was busy but the line moved fast. I will definitely be back.

Good spot in market street right across from the market. It's a bit over priced but it's due to then making the products there. You'll find fudge made in just about every flavor you can think of. Caramel apples are now in season here and that seems to be the hot item! My favorite item but it's a tad on the pricey side is the chocolate covered Oreos at $2.95 a piece PLUS tax! So yes over $3.00 when you are said and done. While I'll say it's pricey it's delicious enough to where I'll pay for it. It sure would be nice if they'd ran specials once in a while holidays would be great! You can smell the chocolate from about 1/4 mile away it's welcoming a great place to just enjoy your sweets and also enjoy a great cone of ice cream! Their ice cream is fresh and they have a big variety.

We love Kilwins. It's our go to place in any city they have a store. However in Charleston we gave our fudge and chocolates back because there were gnats in the food case and then roaches! I bet a gnat or two can get in but this is disgusting. A baby roach means more are hiding. Kilwins needs to make this right.

Every time we go downtown the magnet that is Kilwin's pulls us in. There are so many treats I wouldn't know where to start. Their peanut butter cups and chocolate covered marshmallows are a couple of my favorites. The staff is so friendly and helpful they deserve 5 stars all on their own. Definitely stop in.

Sweeteeth Chocolate makess high-quality chocolates and bon bons with unique flavor pairings. All of their products are made by hand and do not contain any preservatives. Sweeteeth was started by John Eric Battles, an Alabama native who previously worked at EVO Pizzeria here in Charleston. While working at EVO, "Johnny" created these treats that quickly spread through Charleston and can now be found all around the country. Their best bar is the Sea is for Caramel: 62% dark chocolate, smooth caramel, and sprinkled with sea salt. It's incredible to say the least. Don't even look at the price tag -- it's worth every hard-earned penny. I also really like the Cinnapsis: milk chocolate with chewy cinnamon apple bits and crunchy, candied pecans. Each bite of this bar is different, depending on how much apple or candied nut is in your bite. The PB&C bar (peanut butter with smoky chipotle pepper) is different. The peanut butter tastes very natural but the smokiness throws you off. Get your paws on a Sea is for Caramel bar. Immediately.

It was love at first taste, thanks to the Indie Craft Experience in Atlanta. I left that day with a salted caramel dark chocolate bar in hand, but knew that I needed more. Santa to the rescue! He brought me the chocolate sampler pack, a bunch of salted caramel dark chocolate bars, and salted caramel sauces. I mean, I have been OD'ing on chocolate and caramel for months now. But I've been good this year, and I've been sharing my chocolate with co-workers. Everyone loves this stuff-- it's like crack drips out of the salted caramel bar or something. I don't know what it is, but it's magical. Do yourself or someone else a favor and order some Sweeteeth. Or at least go to their website and admire the pictures of their chocolate bars.

Since we were there 2.5 hours before closing, there didn't seem to be a lot of cake options available, but my husband and I decided to share a slice of the s'mores cake with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to make it à la mode. The s'mores cake was a chocolate cake with mini marshmallows, chocolate fudge, graham crackers, and more marshmallows. The cake was good and had everything I could ever want in it, but it was a little dry. I think this also had to do with it being the end of the night. The ice cream complemented the flavor well. It would have been better with a second scoop of ice cream though. Service was great! It took about 10 minutes from when we ordered to get our dessert. That's the best thing I could say about our experience. The food, pricing, service, and ambiance all fell below average. I was looking for a place near the event to do a neighborhood tie in and they made me 7 dozen mini cupcakes. I sent an inquiry and we worked out the details over email. We set a pickup time and I went to grab them just before my event. Christen had them ready and greeted me at the door. She actually does all the baking off site at a commercial kitchen and then offers pickup from her beautiful home downtown. I love this old school way of doing business and it adds a personal touch. Now for the cakes! Everyone was raving about them and asking where they came from... even people who said they don't even like chocolate cake (weirdos if you ask me). I lucked out because my guests had restraint and didn't devour every last mini cupcake so I took home about a dozen of them and enjoyed all of them with zero judgement from the party goers. I can't wait to try a whole cake from this place... it's gonna be amazing.
