My friend recommended I come here to try their banana pudding ice cream. After receiving a sample of their delicious pralines, I made my way to the back of the store where the ice cream is located. When I told the associate that I wanted to try the banana pudding ice cream, she told me that she suggests the flavor to everyone who enters the store. Well, my friend was right, the ice cream was amazing. It was rich and creamy. It tasted like the best banana pudding I've ever had. So, come and try the pralines, but definitely get a scoop of the banana pudding ice cream. Yummy...!!!

How do you rate a "sweet shop"? By the amount of sugar? The sweetness of the employees? Selection of satisfying confections? Well, all I know is this place rocks so much I had a flashback to childhood walking in the door! You got your selection of gummy bears (or fish, or worms, or whatever else is gummy). There's a healthy selection of bars, even a huge Charleston Chew (pun intended). Sour candy, nutty candy, fruity candy, chocolate candy.. I'm thinking you have already taken a mind-trip to Willy Wonka"s. The real treasure is behind the counter. Various flavors of truffles, pralines (chocolate praline it the new normal), and OMG the chocolate covered Rice Kristy treat was so decadent I had to rush home for some insulin! There are candy shops everywhere. Some try to lure you in with nostalgia, spelling their place a "shoppe". Others pump their exhaust fans into the street like the Pied Piper enticing his followers. Not needed here. Just go and be both amazed and satisfied!

This little shop is adorable. It has an old Toney feel with a huge selection of sweet treats. We original went in to grab some ice cream but also ended up getting pralines and a couple bear claws. Everything was yummy and the staff was super friendly.

I love pralines and we stopped here to get some. Unfortunately, these were not up to par. The pralines were hard as a rock! They offered a sample when we arrived and I didn't take one. They had an offer for buy a pound and get 1/2 pound free. It cost about $30 for a pound of pralines which are about 8 of them based on the photo. Perhaps requesting a fresh batch would be the best option.

Mom heard about this place and had to try the pralines, so we did. A small, simple candy shop with all the trimmings. The wall o' candy, homemade candies and chocolates, and even homemade ice cream. They had a sign for gelato but said they haven't had any for some time. I got the butter pecan ice cream and it was really good. Mom liked her pralines so much she bought a bunch of them. I didn't have any issues here but wouldn't go out of my way just to come back here.

This shop was staffed by a crew of very friendly folks who made me feel very welcome from the moment I stepped in. At the front of the shop, two ladies were making fresh praline candies, sort of like peanut brittle, but with pecans. They invited everyone who can in to try some freshly made still-warm samples. I don't eat nuts, but my husband tells me It was delicious! I ended up buying a large package of candied pecan, which were actually made in a different facility in Savannah, Georgia. Although this shop had a wide variety of temping candies and fudges made in house, I was hoping to get pecans, so I ended up with that purchase. Although the bag was a little on the expensive side, hubby greatly enjoyed them and did not regret my choice of purchase. As an extra treat, the cashier threw in one of their freshly made praline candies for free, which was a nice touch. If you are craving something sweet on your trip to the City Market, I would definitely give this place a try!

Oh my goodness! Heavenly sweets brighten up any day with famous fudge and pralines.. they serve samples in mini cups. Each bite is an explosion of sweet yumminess. I bought two to take home.

Yummy! Friendly, clean establishment. Samples as they make the cookies. Nice display of tasty candies, popcorn and cookies. This is definitely the place to stop if you have a sweet tooth. You'll find something that fulfill that craving.

Sweeteeth was started by John Eric Battles, an Alabama native who previously worked at EVO Pizzeria here in Charleston. While working at EVO, "Johnny" created these treats that quickly spread through Charleston and can now be found all around the country. Their best bar is the Sea is for Caramel: 62% dark chocolate, smooth caramel, and sprinkled with sea salt. It's incredible to say the least. Don't even look at the price tag -- it's worth every hard-earned penny. I also really like the Cinnapsis: milk chocolate with chewy cinnamon apple bits and crunchy, candied pecans. Each bite of this bar is different, depending on how much apple or candied nut is in your bite. The PB&C bar (peanut butter with smoky chipotle pepper) is different. The peanut butter tastes very natural but the smokiness throws you off. Get your paws on a Sea is for Caramel bar. Immediately.

I don't know what it is, but it's magical. Do yourself or someone else a favor and order some Sweeteeth. Or at least go to their website and admire the pictures of their chocolate bars.

Since we were there 2.5 hours before closing, there didn't seem to be a lot of cake options available, but my husband and I decided to share a slice of the s'mores cake with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to make it à la mode. The s'mores cake was a chocolate cake with mini marshmallows, chocolate fudge, graham crackers, and more marshmallows. The cake was good and had everything I could ever want in it, but it was a little dry. I think this also had to do with it being the end of the night. The ice cream complemented the flavor well. It would have been better with a second scoop of ice cream though. Service was great! It took about 10 minutes from when we ordered to get our dessert. That's the best thing I could say about our experience. The food, pricing, service, and ambiance all fell below average. We set a pickup time and I went to grab them just before my event. Christen had them ready and greeted me at the door. She actually does all the baking off site at a commercial kitchen and then offers pickup from her beautiful home downtown. I love this old school way of doing business and it adds a personal touch. Now for the cakes! Everyone was raving about them and asking where they came from... even people who said they don't even like chocolate cake (weirdos if you ask me). I lucked out because my guests had restraint and didn't devour every last mini cupcake so I took home about a dozen of them and enjoyed all of them with zero judgement from the party goers.
