Super cute place off of Main Street! Went in today with my daughters and we really wanted to try their ice cream. We loved that they made a lot of things in the shop including ice cream and candy. I got the banana pudding ice cream and my daughter got old-fashioned candy. My other daughter was kind of bummed that they did not have plain vanilla ice cream. They had a lot of quirky gifts and items in their shop. The lady behind the counter and a lot of our questions. They had a huge offering of all types of flavored popcorn, old-fashioned candy, and even DIY things that you could decorate for your home. This is a hidden treasure! Hand made chocolates are excellent. My favorite is the dark chocolate turtle. The fudge is great too. They have ice cream, popcorn, and bottled sodas. Fun place for a special gift or treat. read more

We tried some samples of ice cream and different popcorn flavors. There are so many of them. We finally settled on cheese bread and cheddar! Both were fantastic! Located right in the heart of downtown Summerville, this shop is exactly as it's titled, a treasure. My daughters and I took a lovely walk through the shops and ended up here. The employee working late that night was Hannah; she was an absolutely joy! I cannot remember the last time I had that great of customer service. She provided us with countless samples of popcorn and ice cream and waited patiently while we made our choices. She told us all about the different treat they have there which made it so we knew we had to come back again. There are so many goodies to try! Always a smile on her face, she made our night very special and we can't wait to bring the rest of our family here. I have to add that they also carry darling treats for doggies. Grain free! They also make an ice cream for our canine friends, as well. This place could not be more awesome. I shouldn't mention that pets are not allowed in the store, but I don't think they'll mind when they get their paws on those goodies. I can't wait to go back and bring my Zoey back a treat. Really love this place and location, all it adds to the downtown atmosphere, and supporting local. We got two scoops each in deeelicious waffle cones. The reason cannot rate it higher is because although I realize the ice cream is home made, and I occasionally make my own ice cream as well, is very pricey. I understand everyone's got to pay rent and charge accordingly, but only go here on occasion if someone else is treating because our treats described above were $16 in total. And ouch. This place is great for some really cool old time treats and some new ones too. They also carry like thirty different flavors of popcorn. The fun part you can sample as many flavors as you'd like before you commit to purchasing one or two flavors. I purchased salt and pepper popcorn and rocky road fudge - the fudge was amazing!! Omgosh I almost forgot I also purchased a mango champagne ice pop that was sooo delicious. You can taste the freshness and even see the pieces of mango in it. As for the popcorn it was fun tasting the flavors, all of the savory and sweet flavors were definitely delicious but keep in mind because you can sample their cost is higher than your store bought popcorn. My first visit to simple treasures was on a whim and highly recommended by a friend while we were having coffee close by. The large selection of gourmet popcorn is what drew me in. And as a self proclaimed popcorn enthusiast, I felt it my duty to sample and try as many varieties as possible. We sampled everything from pretzels and honey mustard to captain crunch. They even have flavors like margarita and craft beer! Every sample was unique and flavorful and in the end I decided on a bag of the pretzel and honey mustard popcorn. The perfect amount of sweet and salty. Aside from a variety of gourmet popcorn they also offer ice cream, popsicles, and candies. There is also a small area where they have various accessories and items for sale. Walking around downtown Summerville and not knowing about Simple Treasures it would be very easy to miss. It's slightly off of the normal path and tucked away on the corner of a small quiet corner. Once you get in I can say you want be disappointed. The overwhelming smells of candy and sweets is something that will hit you as soon as you open the door. Some of the candy they have in the store are to be expected of a candy shop. Some of them are nostalgic which is kind of neat to see things from your childhood. I'm visiting the area from Northern California and was so happy with my experience at Simple Treasures today. The store is really cute and has a ton of variety of treats. They even have a little area for a birthday party. I sampled the ice cream and the cherry was absolutely delicious. Creamy and full of real cherries. I was super full from lunch so I didn't get a full one, but will try to get back before going home to get a cup. I picked up some popcorn for my co-workers back home and was amazed at the variety that they have. Kathy, the owner, is really friendly and kind. She lets you sample the different kinds (I think she said they have over 50 varieties!) and they are all super packed with flavor. There are a lot of choices, savory and sweet. Lots of really interesting flavors too (fruity pebbles, pizza combos, blueberry muffin, hot wings and ranch, beer cheese....). I really, really liked the Summerville's Best. It is like the Chicago blend of caramel and cheese, but much more flavor. The popcorn is also crazy fresh and doesn't stick to your teeth, even though some have caramel. I can't wait to get these bags back to California to give all my co-workers. I highly recommend a stop into the shop. You can tell Kathy really cares about the business and her customers. We LOVE this store!! We are now frequent customers of Simple Treasures ever since they opened (at least once a week). The owners are so kind and hospitable. They serve the BEST ice cream and make the BEST milkshakes (give chocolate covered strawberry a try). The made-in-store chocolates are delicious and we always buy candy while we are there. Just read other reviews and went there yesterday for a cherry milkshake so-o-o yummy. Took some peanut butter fudge to go as plain fudge was sold out! Also sampled cherry cola popcorn and owner suggested adding vanilla popcorn to the blend. She was right a cherry cola float engaged my taste buds. Will be back next week for that combo. read more
