managers... yall have got to train your employees. this poor kid had no clue what he was doing and the more experienced staff members sat in the back/ did side work while the obviously new employee took ten minutes to complete an order that would've taken AT MOST 3 minutes if one of the more experienced employees stepped in to guide him (mind you, i was the only customer in the store at about 9:00). I worked at baskin robbins all throughout high school so I know how it is, I still tipped them and I don't blame this boy for being slow. That being said, it is ice cream, not rocket science, and each item on the menu can be taught and learned in under 5 minutes. My cousins and I walked in for some ice cream 12 minutes before closing and a female employee named Jordan greeted us with "F**k you know we're closing in ten minutes". Her coworkers started taking care of us without hesitation and with much attitude she asked if we needed anything else. At this point I didn't get any ice cream and by the time we were finished there was still 7 minutes to close. This interaction made us feel very uncomfortable as well as the kids with us because she acted as if our business bothered and was not wanted. Probably won't be going there again. read more

Service is always quick, even if there's a line. The ice cream creations taste great. I personally love getting the cake batter base with Oreos, cookie dough, and fudge. I've had a few stale tasting waffle cones, though. And in the summer time, it's virtually impossible to eat this outside because it's already pretty melty by the time they hand it to you at the cash register. I gotta go ahead and give some love to Marble Slab. I stopped in last night after a long while. They've definitely made some improvements at this location. If you check my last review you'll see my likes (mainly creating your own ice cream flavor) and dislikes (mainly rude staff and high prices) for Marble Slab. My likes are still the same. In a world of vanilla, I get to create my own chocolate based concoctions! My dislikes have changed though... and for the better. The staff was super friendly and also very quick. Plus it seems to combat the idea of being so pricey as well as stick it to the froyo movement (aka: here's a bucket for your froyo and toppings, but if you fill it up it will cost you $45), they've started an all-inclusive ice cream movement. You can have as many toppings/mix-ins as you want with no upcharge. We got exactly what we wanted without feeling limited by mix-in restrictions and even with the cone/bowl-thing upgrade, it was only $12 for 2 good size ice creams. I can live with that. Got my order very wrong and a literal living roach fell on my sisters head. I do not recommend.

I was spending the day with my mom and she wanted to stop it. The experience was just ok. Inside is small and can seem crowded quickly, especially on a hot day. There are few tables inside and a few outside. The employee who helped us didn't seem too happy to be there--she wasn't that friendly. The ice cream was good--I've had better elsewhere. The prices are high but that's to be expected. The floors were a bit dirty. I don't think I'll go back. read more

Went to marble slab with my grandkids today for an afternoon treat, and they loved the ice cream and cookie cake. The employees were very kind and helpful. Great service! The ambiance was very flattering, and the employees greeted us with a welcoming smile. My grandkids love looking at the ice cream cake book. One of my grandchildren particularly liked that she could get whipped cream on top of her ice cream. I would definitely recommend marble slab. My grand daughter told me she loves it more than TCBY! What a cool place to come on a hot evening. They have several unique and tasty Ice Cream flavors. We were quickly greeted by a very nice young lady who was very helpful. After a few samplings and after much deliberation I decided on the Rum flavored Ice Cream. It had the flavor of a good Caribbean Dark Rum. I got a large cup and my selection was taken to the marble for the mixing of my add on toppings. I chose a couple of the nuts they had and also chocolate chips. My daughter got the Cereal Milk flavor and added in Fruit Loops. My wife got the Chocolate with a mix in of all the nuts they offer. It is so cool they mix together the ice cream and toppings so that every bite includes both. We took our treats home and saved them for a late night snack. We broke them out and wow they have really good ice cream. The Rum flavor was so good. I imagine it would make a nice ice cream float and also be great on a warm piece of rum cake. The Cereal Milk flavor was very tasty and the Fruit Loops were the perfect add on. My wife loved the chocolate with the ton of nuts added in. We all agreed we are fans and can't wait to return and try more of the flavors. read more

So well hidden that if my passenger didn't know where it was, I would have done the historic Town Center tour and still not found it but got some shopping done at Belk and Lowes. The place was clean and spacious for the small interior and the selections were amazing. Waffle bowls Waffle cones Banana split Sundaes Shakes Malts and toppings for all the eye can see. They even have a frequent shopper card. Buy 6, get one free. They are open when most ice cream places and coffee shops close. The ice cream was so good and had so many unique flavors. I enjoyed the nice welcome and the quick service of the employees.

I'm a huge ice cream fan and Marble Slab is my go to place. How many times do you end up eating all your toppings on top of your ice cream first. Marble Slab takes your toppings and mix them right into your ice cream. My favorite is chocolate Swiss and marshmallows. When you walk in there's almost always a line but I've never waiting longer than 10 minutes. The staff is always super nice. Marble Slab ice cream is always delicious and I love that they bring in seasonal, specialty flavors! It's a nice perk that the price of a waffle cone is included in the scoop price, so even if it is a little more expensive than your average ice cream the fact that the cone and LOTS of toppings are included make up for it! (Unlike the frozen yogurt places that charge you by weight so that by the end of the line you end up paying twice what you expected it to be!!) They do get pretty busy, and individually hand make each person's ice cream concoction, so the wait/line can get a bit on the long side but is always worth it! There are a few tables inside, and a couple tables outside in two different places (one side faces a parking lot and other side faces the town center...there are two doors/entrances). They advertise that you can get as many toppings as you would like, and technically you could, but they do limit you to what will actually fit in your selected size cup/cone. So basically the more toppings you choose then the less of each one they give you? Or something alone those lines. One of my favorite things about their different mix-in choices is that along the ice cream cases they show you pictures and descriptions of different combinations of flavors and mix-ins to give you ideas to play off of, or you can order one of them as shown! This is great if you are undecided or overwhelmed, and some of the combos are classic while others are really unique! Other than individual ice cream cups/cones this is also a great place to get an actual Birthday Cake! They're normally in a case right there in the shop so you can pick one up last minute- or call and arrange for a specific flavor if what you want isn't already made! This place was mediocre. The staff members were SUPER sweet and helpful. The girl at the counter was genuinely excited to tell me I could have "as many toppings as I want." However, the ice cream was melting and average. If you are near by and just want to grab some ice cream, it's totally fine. If you are looking for a extra novel specialty treat, this is probably not the place. I had been craving coconut ice cream for months but nobody had it. All I could find was this coconut-pineapple hybrid everywhere. So finally I gave up and made some delicious coconut ice cream at home. Later that week I decide to stop into Marble Slab after seeing a movie in the town center. Guess what I found there? COCONUT ICE CREAM!!!! So since I already had coconut ice cream at home I got a little dish of amaretto, super tasty. This was my first time going to a Marble Slab and I think I like Coldstone a little better. The employees seem a little friendlier at Coldstone plus I like their little pre-made creation lists for days when I'm too indecisive to decide what mix-ins I want. There really isn't a big enough difference between the two to make me completely loyal to one brand though, I'll probably go to whatever is closest. read more

I would totally give marble slab 5 stars if it was based on the simple fact of them having my favorite ice cream!!!! (Low fat fro yo birthday cake!!! Try it - amazing!) Buttttttt I know everyone likes different things so ill review them over all, I guesssssss. They have a ton of great ice cream choices and you can try them all before choosing! I love that they have fresh ingredients that they add and mix right in front of you. With that said... They did only get 4 stars because of the price. Ill go and get a small with one topping and it's still pretty pricey! They don't weigh it like some other places so every tipping adds a significant amount. A small/medium with 2 toppings was like 8 bucks! I guess that could be normal for some so may not seem that bad. I'm just used to growing up and spending 3-5 dollars on Ice cream. After a dinner out if I pick up the ice cream tab that's still an extra 20 bucks. Either way... Amazing favors and toppings, Decent sizes, a little pricey but great location to get ice cream and walk the shops. They have indoor and outdoor seating available as well. read more

I recently revisited this Marble Slab and realized nothing much has changed since it opened. Years ago, I brought the kids many, many times. The ice cream remains very good, although, since they advertise frozen yogurt, I'd think they'd have more than a couple/few flavors. Service is, and always has been, perfunctory at best. Let me start by saying this: I was really excited about this place because of the reviews and the shop itself looked adorable. Upon my arrival I was slightly overwhelmed so I asked a question about how the suggestions work and was given a condescending reply. This was my first time in the establishment. There was no explanation to help me and my company understand how they operated. My friend ordered icecream with sprinkles. She received sprinkles mixed into the icecream that appeared melted from mixing the two. I asked "So the toppings are mixed into the icecream?" -No reply- I repeated myself and was stared at, finally answering me the gentleman said "Yes." To whomever reads these: Please educate your employees on customer service and politeness. The best way to describe the staff is "deer in headlights." No emotion. No greeting. No personality. In fact, they were almost avoidant of the customers in helping them understand the menu. Not to mention: whilst trying to figure out what I wanted to order, the employee that helped with the first icecream, glossed over us when we couldn't pick and moved on to the next group leaving us in the dust.
