Donuts!

Great donuts! Great service! Cool shop with baked goods and plants. Interesting combination but it works.

Fast and friendly service. We got the vanilla latte which was good and I did really enjoy that. We were disappointed by the donuts. They are big and you can definitely split them between two people but the flavor was very yeasty an almost had a fermented taste to it. We tried the ho ho, the sticky bun, and a few donuts.

If you haven't been to BKeDShop yet what are you waiting for? They have 3 locations Summerville (Nexton) Charleston (downtown) Mount Pleasant This shop is in Nexton, and it is a great place to enjoy coffee and donuts. They also sell plants and have a cute plant area where you can shop or sit and enjoy your coffee. My favorite is the Pecan toffee Plenty of Parking ‍‍kid friendly Friendly Staff

The store was cute! We had a little line going in on a Sunday but definitely worth the wait. We tried some typical donuts (og chocolate and cinnamon sugar or smth like that) which were good. The bottom ones on the photo are THE BEST. Bottom middle one was sweet and savory (a good surprise for us). The coffee was a good surprise as well! We loved how the coffee flavors weren't overpowering and were all balanced. Will be definitely coming back.

Coffee is great and staff is friendly! Love the atmosphere here. The donuts are very thick and doughy and not very flavorful but the other treats are good.

Bked Shop is one of my favorite donut places, although you gotta get there early, especially on the weekends. Apparently you can call in and reserve your order as well. I was waiting for assistance(only person in line) while listening to a customer pretty much clear out what was left one afternoon. It was honestly such a bummer. Love the plan store room though!

Caramel vanilla latte

I love getting coffee and pastries from here. Nothing makes me more happy than coffee and I always enjoy my iced latte and whatever This I pick I usually go for like a cinnamon sugar doughnut but this one covered in the fruity pebbles look really really good. I believe the name was cereal and milk and it's always so delicious. It's located in Somerville and next then it's the cutest shop. You can buy live plants there they have seating in the plant shop. They also have seating outside of the shop so you have a few options to where you want to enjoy your coffee. I also have other locations left by far. This is my favorite And everything always taste good and there's never a long wait. They're really fast.

This place is such a cool and unique spot--a donut shop, plant shop, and a cozy space to chill all in one! They have these delicious square donuts, a great selection of other pastries, and a variety of coffee drinks, so there's definitely something for everyone to enjoy. We stopped by because we had a coupon for $5 off donuts, and ended up getting donuts, coffee, and a sticky bun. Everything was super tasty, though I have to say, it's on the pricier side. The service was quick and the staff was really friendly, which added to the cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a fun spot to treat yourself!

Blackberry lime, apple fritter, apple cider cake, cinnamon roll, oatmeal cream pie, chocolate strawberry, cinnamon bun, hoho

This is the cutest little donut shop. It's cozy, aesthetically pleasing, and has adorable plants and plant pots for sale. While I'm not vegan, I do appreciate that they have vegan donuts. I will say, they are not my favorite as I find they lack flavor. However, there are PLENTY of options for each individual's taste buds. I've become particularly fond of their rotating donuts - the pictured blackberry lime donut is my favorite. I wish they had it all the time but I'm thankful they do not. The oatmeal cream pie is a close second. What I appreciate the most about these donuts is the texture. Their square donuts are somehow fluffy but slightly dense at the same time. I typically don't care for fluffy donuts (I know, I'm weird). I don't want it to melt in my mouth, I want to chew while enjoying the mix of textures between the donut and toppings. Bked delivers. Bked's coffee selection is solid, and every coffee option I've had has been delicious, but not in a "is this coffee or a milkshake" kind of way. It's coffee, baby! While this is more of a 4.5 star review simply because of my opinion of their vegan donuts (and some non-vegan) need more oomph, more flavor. Regardless, highly, highly recommend.

Lucky seasonal latte and plant room

This place is such a gem! I swear they have the best coffee in all of Summerville! The seasonal drink menu is delicious! Please bring back the cookie butter latte permanently! I am a toddler mom so I know my coffee haha! The service is always friendly with counter ordering- drinks are made fresh to order hand crafted so can take a few minutes but it's easy to spend the time browsing the plant section! The interior is so vibey but relaxing and never too busy but we usually take our treats to go and sit in the large courtyard right outside! I also love the homemade specialty pretzels and my son and husband love the donuts! Worth a stop just make sure to go early for the best selection!

The location and decor are 5 stars. The plant room 1000% on trend. The actual donuts though...sub par. Way too dense. Honestly a waste of money for the company. The amount of dough that they're using could make 4 fluffy donuts and instead makes one pretty heavy solid one. The light, airy quality of a donut is what offsets the richness of the icing and toppings. With all that dough the donuts taste pretty similar, seeing as it's 95% dough 5% topping. Of all the donut places I've been to around here, this is the sadly at the bottom.

Gingerbread Chai Donut
Amber H.

I was skeptical about trying a season donut for my first visit but I'm happy I did it. I listened to the staff share recommendations with the folks on front of me and I was convinced to try the gingerbread chai donut after her spiel. The donut was delicious and I wish I got two. I will return to try another donut when I'm in town again. I might even eat in as the vibe was very earthy (there were a lot of plants throughout the shop). Note that they have other options if you need gluten feee or vegan.

Apple fritter dirty chai
Jenny C.

Second time here. Least friendly staff I have ever experienced. No greeting, no smiles. The person in front of me was also dismayed. Horrible dirty chai the second time, lack of consistency. Apple fritter was okay handed to me cold without an offer to heat up... Will try again hopefully when different staff are on shift.

Absolutely amazing doughnut. Got the OG chocolate and it was perfection, and I've had many homemade doughnuts in my life.

Summit Coffee - Raspberry Lemon Poppyseed muffin

We were immediately welcomed upon entering, and our order was delivered to us at our table…read morepromptly. The baked goods are provided by a local baker; my raspberry lemon poppyseed muffin was terrific. So two marks for the quality of the coffee and baked goods, and friendly service. Summit Coffee scores a three out of three for their interior space. (They do have outdoor seating; I'll be back in cooler weather for that.) With tall ceilings and wide windows, SC is bright and airy, and their decor is understated elegant: nice touches here and there that reinforces the care gone into creating a relaxing space.

What follows is the marching orders to all other places doing the same thing. Give me a McDonalds with from the 80s with an exterior that dared to be unique, not part of the 1984 (read the book) agenda. This brings me to Summit coffee; I absolutely hate the exterior. Devoid of life, soul and any unique presence. However, I'm not really here to write about a drab exterior but coffee! Let's go inside, shall we? Summit coffee establishment is located is on the outskirts of Nexton proper, easily accessible by foot and with a sterile atmosphere. One oddity I noticed is the place doesn't smell of coffee, which I found interesting. Sadly the inside is as lifeless as outside. It looks like a they paid a cleaner to remove all vestiges of life while only leaving a spec here or there to meet a quote. Ok, enough with aesthetics as I've complained enough, The staff is quick to help out and offer good suggestions when they're asked. Being a former comedian, I tried to whip up some jokes to compensate for my utter boredom, the ladies were nice enough to laugh. Needless to say, the women here had a heart. They made good suggestions but I was curious why their pastry display only had like a handful of items, did they make them or get them from the grocery store? I don't know but I was only here for coffee. I did like some of the creativity - a banana creampie latte - sounds like something.... Nevermind but all props for creativity. Birthday cake latte didn't sound good for the waistline but another attempt at creativity - I love it! But I opted to go for my own flavor. A lack of options for addins, I mean literally no hazelnut, almond etc. Well, I did the best I could - Latte with 2 shots caramel and 1 vanilla. I can honestly say it was "mid" at best. The roast didn't resonate while the lack of options made it feel so generic like I couldn't play the part of an evil scientist mixing a crazy concoction. But it beats McDonalds. Oh, they do have "the world's best granola" which I made several jokes about, even encouraging other customers by saying "if you were in France and ordered granola, they would talk about Summit's granola, after all it's the world's best!" Yes, I was being the overfriendly annoying customer, b/c I was bored. At least there were some laughs. Sadly, there's nothing about Summit that stands out. I hate saying that for local businesses but I want to be authentic. Stop by if .... Well, I'm not sure why so just stop by, I guess.

Their coffee is honestly way better than Starbucks, and they're always switching up the menu with fun, unique flavors. They're also super accommodating. I don't like my coffee overly sweet, and they always make it exactly how I like it. The only thing I find a little funny is that the building used to be a burger drive-through and they kept the old sign up--it's a bit random, but kind of adds character. Definitely a must-try spot!

The French toast sweet cream cold brew was very cinnamon-forward and didn't really have an overall French toast vibe to it. The ham, egg, and cheese on a croissant was confirmed delicious, and my bacon, egg, and cheese on a brioche bun was overall very good- they were both scorching hot. A bit too pricey for everything (we got large drinks); it came to around $35.16 total. I'd say this is a step up from your average Starbucks/Dunkin coffee places, but hard to justify the price for what you're getting.
