Some of the best valued desserts in the Mount Pleasant/hello Charleston area I've come to find after being in town for a little. I grabbed an apple fritter, a cookie butter donut and an Oreo donut. The fried outside, along with the toppings of all of these were fantastic. The inside of the apple fritter was a little disappointing though, it's not the typical middle and more of a brioche donut. By far, my favorite one was the Oreo. The first bite was a flavor sensation along with the spongy, airy middle. The cookie butter had the same great brioche inside, they're almost a little undercooked, which is nice. The inside was very clean and the staff is young and very friendly. Super cute high end donut and coffee shop in the Park West/Carolina Park area. My wife and son loved the pastries I couldn't have anything as they didn't have a gluten free option but the service and ambiance are spot on. I'd love to see them get GF options for those of that suffer plus the porch down a couple buildings offers gf. Hubby found this place while we were visiting Charleston but staying in Mount pleasant. He loves donuts but I am indifferent. I went on the errand to pick up his donuts and they literally had one item out of 3 on his list. This is at 10 am on a Monday morning. I got him OG sprinkle but they were out of the vegan fritter and cereal one. I ended up getting maple sugar, salted pretzel and a brown sugar cinnamon latte. Omg, I didn't take photos but the maple sugar was soooo soooo good. It was super fluffy and not overly sweet. The taste came from the maple sugar crumbles on the donut. My iced latte was also tasty as she cut the sugar in half. I highly recommend their donuts but they seem run out pretty fast. read more

Stopped by Bkedshop for an assortment of donuts. My selections were the oatmeal cookies sandwich, apple cider cake & lemon yeast donut. I enjoyed the cream filling the oatmeal cookie sandwich. The texture was decent but not too moist. The apple cider donut was dry and lemon yeast donut were dry. The lemon glaze kept it somewhat moist on the outside. YAY donuts!!! Fresh buttery dough with a variety of creative toppings is a perfect treat anytime of the day. I found myself in Mt P getting some car work done and was told about this new shopping plaza up 17 by the Costco. I went to check it out and stumbled upon BkedShop. The strip mall is super new and has 8-10 businesses already. The shop was super cute and clean. The person working helped me decided on a donut. I went Brown Butter carrot. The best bite was when you got a crispy sugar and buttery dough and carrot cake flavored bite. The top has texture with a crumble and candy decorations. The variety the day I was there was plentiful. Since this location is super far from me, I won't be a regular, but when I'm in Mt P on their side of town I'll definitely try more gourmet donuts. read more

Big enough we needed a knife and fork. Got a simple coffee with oat milk that was tasty. Free WiFi. I wish I had remembered to snap some pictures, but we were too busy enjoying our pastries and beautiful weather! We stopped by on a Sunday morning around 9 am, and it was lively but not too crowded (most inside tables were taken but no one was outside yet). There was still plenty of inventory as well. We picked up 5 different pastries (2 fritters, 3 donuts) -- we did not get coffees there this time but their seasonal lattes looked great, so I am eager to try one in the future. We had a mix of vegan and nonvegan flavors and honestly you could not tell the difference -- the vegan donut was just as good as the regular donuts! I saw some reviews that the donuts were dry, but we did not find that to be the case; our donuts were excellent. We loved the relaxed vibes and the wide selection for both drinks and pastries. We would absolutely recommend Bkedshop if you're looking for a cute local donut place. read more

Bked is one of our favorite stops in Mount Pleasant. We always go after church on Sunday! It's the perfect little coffee and doughnut shop! They have some of the greatest donuts, and they do offer a variety of vegan donuts! I do hope that in the future they will add in some gluten-free options even one! They have seating inside and a few spots outdoor. It's a perfect little grab and go spot. They also sell plants which makes it super cute inside. There are several locations throughout the Charleston area which is great depending on where you're located. Well this was great. I has seen some bad reviews here so I was a bit worried about trying this place. Not regrets! Super friendly staff, adorable interior decor, plenty of seating and amazing donuts. We came at 2pm so a bit late in the day for a bakery but there were still plenty of choices and my goodness these were delightful. Firstly they're not greasy. I hate greasy donuts. Secondly they're super fluffy. I love the texture. Slightly chewy but not dry at all. Like a perfect brioche. I loved the choices for flavors. If you haven't been you should try it. Really cute place, very clean! I came at 12:00 on a weekday and had plenty of variety to pick from. It was a very difficult decision but anytime I see Nutella it wins me over so I ended up with a delicious sugar donut filled with Nutella. They did not skimp on the Nutella! Yes, three donut was $4.44 with tax but it was substantial, probably the equivalent of two donuts. I also ordered a chai tea latte that was very good. I sat outside on the side of the building where the tables were. The young woman who took order was very sweet and helpful. The only recommendation I would make to the owners would be to wipe down the outside tables and chairs regularly, especially during pollen season. They have a thick coat of green pollen on them. Pleasant. Across from Costco and on the way to Wando High School. It's lovely in here. Baked goods only, fresh in house baked, and delicious. They have a great selection of coffee and beans for sale. Also much to my surprise, a selection of house plants in pots for sale, along with candles, mugs and general cute gifts to buy. The decor is chic and hip with several seats and tables to sit and chat or to do work. The staff are super friendly and eager to please. A great addition to this area of Mt Pleasant. This shop is so cute. I wish I lived closer so that I could come here more often. There were no other customers when I went on a Tuesday afternoon. Right when you walk in, there's a display with different jewelry and trinkets all relating to plants. You can get a little plant for yourself if you want. I loved it. Combining boutique vibes with a bakery. The donuts are amazing, but definitely eat them day-of. We saved some for the next day and they weren't nearly as good. I got red velvet, pecan toffee, chocolate peanut butter. and chocolate sprinkles. All four were delicious and fluffy. My only qualm is that they wrapped each one and then put it in a paper bag. It's a nice shop, but their products are mediocre and inedible. I got a cheesecake that was 40% whipped cream on top. The other 60% was flavorless and sour. I got a apple pie that was inedible. It had absolutely zero flavor. It was not sweet. It was not sour. It was not fit to eat. I got a banana pudding that was mousse-like in consistency, but more like whipped cream. There were banana slices in it. Actually, there were 4 slices in the plastic cup container which it was served in. There was something waxy in the recipe. I can still taste it and I ate some of it literally 5 minutes ago. The lone counter person was stressed out and so lethargic that it was evident that they did not enjoy their employment there. Meh. Five stars for being super convenient and clean and beautiful inside. As for the donuts (didnt get any coffees etc) it's a 1 star for this family of 5. Ordered 5 different flavors of donuts to try them out at 11:30am (not a ton to choose from). The lady at counter was drab and seemed like she hated her job. Not rude or anything, just not friendly - no smile, no suggestions nothing. Every donut was meh. Tasted like a biscuit with random extras added to the top. Cinnamon bun was old and dry, and my 9 year old only ate a few bites Stating "this isnt good at all". The peanut butter chocolate donut for my PB loving hubby was terrible- tasted like low quality Easter chocolate and fake peanut butter syrup on it with crumbles of fine crushed chocolate cookies, all which fell of on the first bite. Nothing was "gluing" the toppings down. So strange BC the Charleston location has such amazing reviews! Would chalk it up to not getting there at 7am when the donuts are freshest but the place is open till 4pm! Can't imagine what the donuts taste like by then.
