The drinks were eh. The food above is not from the place, as a disclaimer. Vietnamese coffee with foam (5/10): I've had better. As someone who's Vietnamese, this was not strong at all, just tasted like a latte with condensed milk. Also, there was very little foam, and it was served in a cup where you couldn't scoop or taste the foam on its own because it was sealed. In Vietnam, you usually sip the foam first and then drink at it with the coffee after. Just wasn't doing the drink justice. Yuenyeung (6/10): I'm not sure if it's because I'm not used to the drink, so I won't comment on the quality. I didn't really love it, though, because it was promised that coffee was in it too, but it didn't really come through. Beautiful place, wonderful for pictures and to chat. Overall the vibe and decor of the cafe was very aesthetically pleasing. I was very excited to see hojicha on the menu. I was quite upset when i realized my hojicha latte was 50% foam. I tried the pea tea limeade, which was very sweet (no sugar options given) and on first sip I noticed a distinct gritty flavor. When I looked at the bottom of the drink, there was a large collection of undissolved sugar. The location was very cute and decorated for Valentine's Day, but I likely won't come again with so many drink options in the area. read more

I've been looking forward to trying this café. I love the décor and it looks clean and modern with a decent amount of seating. From the menu, it looks like a café that serves coffee and bubble tea. I saw a few people ordering coffee, but I opted for the Taro Milk Tea. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with it. The milk tea didn't have much taro flavor and it was too sweet... even though I asked for less sugar. The cup packaging didn't have the name of the café either. I always see a lot of people here so I came to try. I got the typical Black Brown Sugar Milk Tea w/ Boba. It's really ok. Probably the most plain bubble tea I've had. The boba is too soft. The tea is too plain. People probably like the atmosphere inside. And there are more non-Asian customers here. Maybe the flavor is more American style. read more

The prime reason to visit here is the ambiance, it's really just incredible and comforting. My favorite time to visit is in the winter, especially when it's snowing out. It's filled with a bunch of little fairy lights while having a softer darker interior. The price is defiantly a little bit on the higher side, but if you just want to sit down and do some work with a drink or coffee it's really a good deal. The desserts themselves aren't really the best, maybe like a 3/5. The drinks are phenomenal though and they have the best boba tea I've ever had. Service takes longer than a dunkin of course, but the whole point of coming here is to take your time and relax. I try to come back whenever I'm in Boston! Amazing location overall. read more

Okay this is 10/10! We weren't actually planning on coming here but our original boba place we picked was closed and I'm so glad it was. The place has plenty of seating both inside and out. The menu is not like your typical boba restaurant so I was thrown off at first. The two girls working the front counter were super nice and fast at making drinks. They play jazz music inside so it's a great ambiance if you want to just hang, work on your computer, or even read a book! I got the salted caramel butterfly tea. The drink looked beautiful and more importantly it tasted it. I got mine with oat milk, and there was an up charge. My friend got the brown sugar tea with boba and loved it. I will say they have limited snack items. All the food they have are mostly sweets such as cake, croissants, and chocolate. But I came here for the boba, and it did not disappoint! read more

Ummm...I came here for a second time to try other items but after this avocado smoothie I will be staying away. I came here an hour before closing so it was pretty much empty. There were 4 workers and I got the fresh avocado smoothie to try. It took a good 10 minutes to make my drink... (being the only customer in line) not sure what happened but for 10 minutes I expected a good drink. To my disappointment the smoothie was so bad I didn't even want a second sip. The avocado was clearly not ripe enough and it wasn't blended long enough so there was so much pulp and chunky ice. The boba was also super hot so after shaking it up my smoothie was warm. However, the boba tasted good. They just opened their outdoor dining and has a water station for dogs so that's nice of them. read more

A small cafe in Chinatown, with a mix between a coffee and boba shop vibes. There's a good variety of drinks to try off their menu and decided to go for a mango smoothie since it was hot outside. The smoothie was made well with mango puree and there were no chunks of ice while I was drinking it. The boba seems as if it was freshly made, super soft and chewy. The service was quick to make on a weekday afternoon since nobody else was in the store. There are window seats if you want to sit and people watch in Chinatown. This is a relatively new place that opened in Chinatown and it has an interesting concept. They sell coffee, boba, teas, and they also have a case of chocolate. I think the best part about this place compared to the countless other boba shops in chinatown is their drink options. They have different flavors that most shops don't have like the butterfly pea flower drink I got. The drink itself was a lot prettier to look at, but the tea itself was okay. There wasn't much flavor to it other than it being a sweet drink. Their coffee drinks on the other hand was amazing. They use George Howell coffee so it's very strong and the coffee was smooth. Just moved back to MA from Georgia and noticed that this place was new. Parked my car in the garage because I ain't got time to find parking in the street. Went into this cafe and right away I felt that same feeling when I first went into a cafe that specialized in coffee and bubble tea. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming and very warm. I can see myself spending hours here studying or working on a project (if I had time). Be warned, the place can probably only hold about 15 people. The amount of drink selection was overwhelming. Now before I begin, I will mention that so far, in MA, my favorite bubble tea shop is onezo in Quincy because of their brown sugar boba. I can officially say that this cafe takes the cake for my new number one spot for coffee and bubble tea. Their boba is so chewy and soft!!! Best boba around! I got the brown sugar expresso milk with boba and I really really enjoyed this drink. I'm a coffee drinker and have coffee on a daily basis but I do enjoy boba drinks. I think this drink just combined two things I really like very well. The only improvement would be that the boba itself can be more chewy. The staff was nice and I got my drink fairly quick. I love the atmosphere, it's more like a Starbucks/Cafe Nero vibe compared to the usual bright lit boba shops. Cafe Darq does have a good atmosphere and would be a lovely place to do work or study, especially as they also serve coffee in addition to their selection of teas. I tried the hot taro milk tea, which just personally wasn't to my taste - it was very thick and frothy, as well as somehow also gritty/grainy, and felt like drinking ovaltine at times with that texture. The lid on the cup was also a normal coffee lid, meaning that it could not fit a boba straw. We ordered it with boba so we ended up having to tear an opening for the straw ourselves. read more

Cute little cafe located on the quiet streets of Chinatown; this part of Chinatown doesn't get as much foot traffic as say closer to the Chinatown Gate, so hopefully they still get a lot of customers! Once inside, Cafe Darq has a very contemporary look and great atmosphere. There are a bunch of seating despite the shop being sorta small. Around the front counter were bakery items as well, which I might try next time. Their menu has quite a few items on it and it being a super hot day, decided on a fruity drink. Ordered the grapefruit green tea with mango jelly and the total came up to around $7. It tasted really refreshing and I love their tea base. The only complaint I have is that $7 is pretty expensive. I will definitely come back to try some of their coffee items as I've heard they are great! read more

Their Hong Kong milk tea was alright, not very sweet and soothing for a cold winter day. I enjoyed the Brown sugar creme brulee milk tea w/ boba overall but did find the crème brulee too thick for my liking. The Vietnamese coffee was not bad, but also not the best I have had. Overall, their drinks are alright, but nothing stood out to me to get as my go-to order though I am open to further exploring their menu. Service is pretty good; the lady at the cashier is always cheery and the drinks are served at a reasonable speed. I quite enjoy the atmosphere of this spot so I will stop by from time to time if I am in Chinatown and want a place to sit down.
