i live 3 hours northwest of ABQ and while my co-workers & friends often drive to ABQ for the fun & fine dining of the many franchise restaurants, I only dream of Cafe Da Lat and their Bun Thit Nuong - the grilled pork with vermicelli & crunchy little fried eggrolls, drizzled with the perfectly blended nuoc cham sauce!!! Oh! I wish i had a bowl right now!! The strong iced coffee completes the meal . . . read more

They don't have a large Pho (soup) menu, but what they have is very good and you can't beat the price. My wife and I have become regulars at Cafe Da Lat. If you haven't tried Vietnamese food, you should give it a try! Everything we've tried has been delicious! Never had a problem with food quality. The staff are friendly (always smiling) and courteous. Also, Cafe Da Lat is less expensive than the Thai restaurants found further west on Central. The dining room is a quiet, open space with shaded windows on the south and east sides. A few pieces of Vietnamese framed art adorn the walls. There are tables for couples or larger groups. I like the simple elegance of the room -- it's not stuffed with potted plants, screens, and Asian paraphernalia as are some other Asian restaurants in Abq. As a vegetarian, I am happy with their selection of non-meat dishes, but if you don't eat fish, be aware that the sauce used for egg rolls is based on fish sauce. The staff will provide a non-fish substitute sauce if you ask for it. The waiters are not overly attentive, which some other reviewers apparently didn't like. Personally, I prefer not to be visited by a waiter every 10 minutes, and I don't mind waiting a few minutes for a refill on my drink. Because the dining room is open (no walls between you and the staff), it is usually very easy to get the staff's attention when needed. Where else can two people get a good, Asian meal in Albuquerque in a pleasant, quiet setting with real wait staff (i.e. not a noisy Chinese buffet or fast-food Chinese) for under $20? Cafe Da Lat is a gem! read more

The pho here is pretty good. There are a lot of place in Albuquerque with decent pho, and I think that Café Da Lat falls into that category. All in all, I give them 4 stars for good pho. read more

I really am becoming a Vietnamese restaurant snob especially with all the options to choose from all over Albuquerque. My local go-to Viet restaurant was closed so figured I would bust out my phone check Yelp! for the next best thing and so I landed up here at Cafe Da Lat. When I walked in I heard the crickets chirping as I was the only one in the restaurant besides that the restaurant was dark, clean and service was prompt. I ordered an order of spring rolls and wasn't a fan as the shrimp had a really strong seafood smell and no peanut sauce? After the rolls I decided to go with a Vermicelli bowl with pork, egg roll, and shrimp and wasn't to thrilled. The pork was bland, shrimp had a heavy seafood smell, egg rolls were soggy and sweet, and the bowl was loaded with dry vermicelli noodles. So lastly would I come back? Probably not. read more

Decent Pho. Large menu. Okay spring rolls. read more

My favorite place for pho in town. Their spring rolls are large and awesome (they'd be even more awesome if they had mint instead of cilantro). I had the rare and well-done beef phoand an order of spring rolls tonight. Their broth is so good. I've made pho before (and it was damn good), so I know what goes in it, but I have no idea what the extra special something is that Cafe da Lat puts in their broth. It blows every other place's out of the water. It must be love that they put in it. Pure, unadulterated love. The plate of bean sprouts, Thai basil, cilantro, jalapenos, and limes were fresh, crisp, and dripping wet (just rinsed). Some day I'll try something else. Or not. Pho is the perfect meal. Especially from here. And yea for leftovers! That makes my workday tomorrow just a little bit better. read more

Cafe Da Lat is not to be missed! All the food I've tried is delicious -- fresh, fresh, fresh and so tasty. Pho is wonderful -- I had #B2 tonight -- and my husband's #F1 was beef, shrimp, chicken, pork, rice noodles and a variety of bright vegetables. Very generous portions. Love the friendly wait staff and the ambience of soft lighting. Prices are very reasonable; Albuquerque's very best value. Try the spring roll appetizer, too ... delish! read more

Still a great place to go. I love their ban me and wonton soup. I have never had a bad experience here and the staff is always friendly.

Albuquerque is not a hotbed for Vietnamese culture or cuisine. But with that being said, this is hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant in Albuquerque. The pho is off the charts, the establishment is clean and has classy décor, and the service is top notch. In Albuquerque and want pho? This is the place to go! read more

Was not impressed in the least. My grilled curry chicken came out du and burnt. ...Not the burnt like a bit over cooked- I'm talking burnt life I could taste the char. That's about all I could taste. read more

One of the best in the SE area of Albuquerque! Never had anything that wasn't fresh tasting and delicious. Very personable and attentive wait staff - I eat here about four times a month for business meetings. read more

I came here because of the yelp reviews and was craving good Vietnamese food. The ambiance of this place is nice and the menu has great variety. I had the pho and avocado shake. I see what people meant when they said the broth is a little different than other pho restaurants. It's not as fragrant? I didn't think it was bad though, just different. The avocado shake was really good!! They accept credit cards and serve wine I think. I will definitely give this place another try! read more

I've been dining at Cafe Da Lat for several years. Located in Albuquerque's rebranded International District, this gem is one of many Vietnamese options available. Extensive menu. Tasty, fresh, and consistent food. Efficient, friendly service. I particularly enjoy the Lemongrass Chicken and Rare Beef Pho. read more

Have been a fan for a few years. Recently, when ordering a shrimp dish, have found the shrimp to be not only smaller but less tasteful. The shrimp used to be not only larger but plump and juicy. I love the spring rolls and the Ginger Chicken Pho but please bring the large plump juicy shrimp back! read more

Start with the LIME BEEF appetizer. So delectable. You will say to your tastebuds, where have been all my life. Most all things on their menu is so tasty. I have my favorites. The works on the vermicelli bowl. EVERYTHING in it. I love the idea that an old fast food hut is converted to something family owned, and the menu is crafted night after night to the tastes of the ol' homeland and its newest fans in Albuquerque. read more

very clean interiors. lo-voltage lighting. unsassuming but attentive service. delicious pho and other offerings.

Best Vietnamese in Albuquerque. There are quite a few choices for a town our size, but Da Lat is the best mix of authentic Vietnamese in a nice environment that's not overly greasy. I eat here at least every other week. read more

I wanted to like this place, I really did. But it's just ok. The pho broth is a little weak (not richly flavored or with a lot of body), the spring rolls usually taste pre-made (cold, hard, chewy wrappers), and the egg rolls are usually noticeably underseasoned. On the plus side, the chicken salad is excellent, heavy on the chicken and made with a bright, tangy dressing and tons of lightly pickled cucumber and carrots than make it a light, tasty, but satisfying dish. The service is prompt and friendly, the decor is inviting, and there's plenty of parking. Definitely not your worst option for Vietnamese, but not my first choice. read more

I have a strong adoration for Cafe Da Lat. The wait staff is very nice, attentive, and courteous. The food is great there, my favorite is the eggplant and pork. The atmosphere is quaint and it is a bit dark but it kind of sets a peaceful mood. I've also had their pho bowl and well it's kind of like a dish that you hope someone can't mess up. It's awesome too! I always feel awesome after leaving Cafe Da Lat. I highly recommend going there for Vietnamese food! read more

When my favorite Vietnamese restaurant is closed, I'll come here. Or maybe when I'm craving a tasty noodle dish. Warm, inviting atmosphere. Good service. Food with flavor. The spring rolls were good, but I prefer a peanut sauce instead of the chili oil - so Saigon Far East still has the best in town in my book. My tofu/noodle dish was very tasty. And my bf enjoyed his rice/beef dish. So we had happy bellies and enjoyed leftovers the following day. We'll definitely return. read more

Hadn't been here in a long time. .. walked in and the.yummy smells put a smile on my face. The food didn't disappoint, still as great as I remember. Love the fried goodness of the egg rolls and sweet tangy spicy sauce that completes them. Vermicelli great too. Fast service with a smile made me leave wishing I lived closer. read more

Really not happy with the quality of the food here. The atmosphere was nice, but the quality of the meat in both the Pho and the vermicelli dish I tried were subpar. The other ingredients looked old and unappetizing. Even though I was really hungry from driving 6 hours, I didn't finish half my plate. Prices much higher than regular Pho place for much lesser quality. Maybe they were having an off day? I won't be back. read more

Best place to eat Vietnamese food in Albuquerque. The food here is FRESH! Get the egg rolls in glass noodles-whatever it's called. The Vietnamese sandwich is delicious, be sure to wash it all down with the juice of a freshly cracked open coconut! YUM! read more

This place is excellent! The food was delicious, portions are a great value, and the service was friendly and prompt. We will definitely be back for more Thai ice teas and beef noodle soups. Comfort food for our bodies and souls! Not to be missed. read more

This is an amazing place for pho or seafood. Please help support this business will Central Ave is under construction.

I highly recommend starting with the vietnamese sandwich and/or spring rolls for an appetizer before getting the rare beef pho and a hue beer. It is fantastic. You will not be disappointed. While the parking lot is indeed not a aesthetic destination, inside is clean and has a friendly staff. Just focus on the food and ignore the cheesy music. read more

An excellent restaurant, managed by the owner with pride. looks like a former Pizza Hut building that has been tastefully redone and furnished appropriately. food was very good, different flavors than I am used to but a pleasant change. Must try the lime beef! Sort of an asian beef carpachio but with mint, carmelized onions and spices. Unusual and outstanding. Not in the best part of town but a definite "do again" Prices were a bargain in my opinion. Meal for two with two appetizers and two entrees a beer (33) and bottle of wine for less than $60.00 with a tip! Doesn't get a whole lot better. Owner, waiter, maitre de is very personable and attentive. An all together pleasant experience and i would definitely go again......and take friends! read more

Ok well decided to try one of our fav Vietnamese places. Yes still very very good didn't have a bug mishaps this time! We will continue going back because it's really good. read more

Great place to eat! Staff is amazing very friendly! Best Pho in Albuquerque! Highly recommend.

Popular place. Good service. Good tasty pho at a good price. Good place.

I love Vietnamese food and this is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in town. I have eaten here often. The appetizer crispy quail is good and the cold chicken salad is also good. The bananna beef soup is incredibly flavorful, I have never come across anything like it anywhere else. There is a omelette thing with all kinds of goodies packed inside that is super. The pho is good too. I also like the fried egg noodles. Rice duck soup is nice on a cold day. I have had many other dishes, but these are the ones that stick out to me. The portions are generally large and the prices are reasonable. I have probably eaten here 200 times in 10 years and I have never had a bad experience. Highly recommended, you won't be sorry. The menu is huge, lots of choices for everyone. read more

The food here was delicious, filling, and full of flavor. The service was great. I look forward to going back.

Not bad, and now I know where to go to in Albuquerque when I want authentic Vietnamese food too. I had the curry chivken and noodles and was impressed with the size and the flavor for the price. It sure seemed like the restaurant has it's regular clients too, which is always a good sign... I'd come here again, no problem! read more

One of my two favorite Vietnamese pho restaurants in ABQ. If they had cilantro it'd be a 5 star for me.

I was visiting Albuquerque and went to this place for dinner. What a wonderful surprise!

Surprisingly good food! The outside look kinda crappy but the food is good. Will go back again.

Cafe Da Lat is our favorite Vietnamese in town, and our general go-to when we want Asian food in general. Pretty solid vegetarian selection, though you might ask just in case, as a few of their vegetarian dishes are made with fish sauce unless you ask for it without. Great tofu, gooooood vegetarian sandwich, and best lemongrass around. read more

This food honestly felt like a surreal experience. It is my drug. I recommend the Patter and Charbroil Pork. Chili paste on the side.

Just what I wanted - well prepared food at a great price with a friendly staff.

We usually got to Pho #1 but they were closed on that day, I think it was a Tuesday. We stopped by Cafe Da Lat to cure our Vietnamese food craving. We ordered the egg rolls, pho tai, and bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle). Egg rolls were delicious but the pho and bun were not up to par of what we are used too. It seemed like they use the pho noodle for the bun bo hue too which was really strange! We will not be returning anytime soon. read more
