Ive been hearing a lot about this place so I decided to check it out OH BOY. When you walk in you get this old homie, laid vibe its not bad. The service was on point the workers and waitress payed attention to my every need. Now this is when it took a sharp left turn, the menu looks good but the food don't taste good. I made the mistake of taking a picture of the salmon sandwich like it was all good before tasting it NO NO. The sandwich was pretty horrible, so asked the waitress could try something else and got the nachos. It's no way you mess up nachos and guess what THEY DID SMH. The only decent thing was the drink and that was average at best, so I'm sitting there with disgusted look on my face. The brunch tostada with soyrizo is my all time favorite!! It might be one of my all time favorite brunches, maaaybe! It's that good! Second favorite brunch item is the wet burrito with steak. A small group of friends and I arrived today at Cafe Corazon for brunch. We were told the wait would be around 15-20 minutes, and we ended up waiting for about 30-40 minutes for our table to become available. Right away, we ordered chips, guac, and salsa. The salsa is a little better than your average Mexican restaurant and I would say the guac is about as standard as any other restaurant I've been to. The restaurant was fairly full, but not too busy. Our food took 45 minutes from the time we ordered, until it arrived. In the meantime, we enjoyed the pineapple jalapeno margaritas. I ordered the Empanadas Carnitas, I was expecting there to be more than just pork in there, but it tasted fine. My friends ordered the burritos, which are very large. They all thought they were good. All in all, it is a nice restaurant, but we were all left with a sour taste in our mouths from the long wait for seats, and for our food to come. I'm not in a hurry to go back. read more

First time here. Loved it! Came with my wife and kids ages 11 and 15. We checked in and had about a 20 minute wait for a table outside. You do need to know that there server set up is different. Not bad, just different. Once we got the text that our table was ready we came in and they explained how their unique set up works. We came in and ordered drinks and chips at the bar, and they gave us a glass with a pen and a menu list from which to choose our food. Once at the table they brought out chips and salsa/guacamole. Ridiculously Yummy!!! Our drinks also came out. Kids had soda and my wife had a Corazon Margarita and I had the Mezcal Margarita. My wife loved hers, but mine was soooooo good. Get it! We settled on our food abd filled out the sheet with our order. We had a number of people that seemed to be assigned to our table, but they do not have a "server" system. You order initial drinks and chips at the bar, then you fill out your order and they collect it. They do check on you, but it is a different system. It is fine. Now for the food I had the green pepper stuffed with Carnitas and lots of sauce and spice. Came with refried beans ( really really really good. Cilantro nice touch). The pepper and pork were excellent as was the rice. My wife had the three tacos (shrimp/pork/steak) and loved it. My 11 year old had the steak fajitas and I can honestly say that steak was the best bite on the table, and it was a talented table. My other daughter had a pork burrito and loved it. I haven't ever dined in here and have only gotten taken out. My experiences have only been positive with carry out. I ordered the burrito naked (without a tortilla). It's basically all of the delicious filling in the actual burrito, which let's be honest, is truly the best part. I always get the chorizo because it is so incredibly flavorful, and it really makes the dish. For carry out, this naked burrito comes in a square styrofoam container. I think this could be two meals if you are trying to portion control. I've definitely inhaled this in one sitting multiple times. What I like most about Care corazon is it's vegetarian options. While I am not vegetarian, I do appreciate good vegetarian food because I don't like eating meat all of the time. If you want to get a clear impression that COVID precautions are in place, this may be your spot. Management has done an outstanding job with developing a set of restrictions that provide a strong sense that they've been seriously considered. You walk in to have the bartender mumble directions about drink orders while pointing to some drink menus. If you're fine with water, he's clearly done with you, and passes you along to someone else who gives you a glass, pen, napkins, and an order sheet. With a gesture and another rapid fire mumble, you're off to find your own table. The food was okay, but not great. Guacamole was bland and maybe canned. Red salsa was also bland. Carry out orders often have mistakes that aren't realized until I get home. Food is ridiculously overpriced for the quality and quantity. This is another example of something that's popular simply because it's popular. #WereTrendySoWeTreatOurCustomersPoorly Today I got their salmon tacos. They're supposed to come with a chipotle aioli which was fully overlooked today. The tacos consisted of grilled salmon that tasted and smelled fishy, lettuce, tomatoes and radish. They forgot the aioli and they didn't provide any salsa for the tacos. Super boring and bland. Thankfully, I found some salsa in my fridge from an actual legit Mexican restaurant. That salsa was the only flavorful item on my plate. A proper Mexican restaurant will always send you home with some delicious salsa for your tacos. Prices here are just absolutely whack. Guacamole was really good along with their salsa verde. I also sampled their mole sauce and these we're definitely highlights. I ordered shrimp fajitas. Cooked perfectly and were delicious; however, I'm thinking the shrimp were frozen; but, I'd still recommend them. The red salsa and the black beans had a sweeter taste that I didn't like. They cleaned up the old Club Carnival, fits perfectly in with the new Bay View. I thought this location was just 3 stars A-Okay. They've done some nice things with the space. My eye was scanning the menu for something mole, anything mole! But I guess only Mondays are Mole Mondays, holy mole! I want mole errday! (And can get many of them elsewhere, everyday). In lieu of being there not on a Monday, I had the chicken enchiladas. They were okay. I heard the fish tacos were great. Mexican food in Milwaukee is completely underrated. I seem to find myself out here every few months, but I gotta say of the few spots we've hit we have yet to leave Milwaukee without having some pretty good Mexican food. Whether it's burritos, tacos, fajitas you crave, Cafe Corazon is just another one to add to the list that's doing it right. We dropped by Cafe Corazon this past Sunday afternoon. The weather was nice out, so their patio was open. Blues skies, check... green grass, check... bright red tables, check... safe to say summer is officially here? I think so! After browsing the menu quickly, I ended up going for their regular burrito with their pork pibil (slow roasted pork essentially... not sure what makes it different from carnitas, but it was just as juicy and tender). Burrito is wrapped in a large flour tortilla and filled with rice, cheese, avocado, crema, choice of black or pinto beans, and choice of meat all for $9. Good size and barely finished it off. Also had a side of chips and salsa to share for the table. Their avocado crema sauce is tasty but spicy (use caution) and the pico de gallo was nice and fresh. For refreshments, started off Sunday funday with michelada ~ modelo on draft mixed with tobassco, tomato juice, lime juice, & salted rim. A bit watered down IMO, would just go for the straight Modelo on draft for $4 (which I ended up doing for round two). Overall great spot for Sunday late lunch and enjoying their patio for the awesome weather. Forgot to snap pics of the back of the menu, but plenty of vegan options as well. So this is a popular spot to eat good mexican food with some fresh ingredients and care put into making both the corazon and wet burritos. They are of good portion and around 10$ a piece. The Corazon burrito that I had was with fresh tasty black beans that mixed well with the steak and avocado and lettuce/tomato. I was pretty impressed by the flavor and they have a spicy sauce that was pretty good to put in the burrito for an extra kick which is always needed. Unfortunately, both times I've come here, there has always been a wait whether its when we're ready to order and the server has IGNORED US or maybe FORGOT THEY HAD OUR TABLE. There has also been a wait for food with the food not coming out until after 30+ minutes of waiting which they didn't tell us about the hold up and finally while we starting eating they told us that one cook didn't show up and they were understaffed in the kitchen and I appreciate them explaining it but its a little too late. I have eaten at Cafe Corazon several times, but today was the first time I went there since I made the switch to a meat-free diet. This place is one of the few Mexican restaurants in the area with the sizable vegetarian/vegan menu, so I was excited to give it a try. Cafe Corazon has always been "Good, Not Great" for me. They are not authentic Mexican, but they are not trying to be. They definitely have some interesting flavors, but I typically find their food (notably the protein) to be a bit dry. Tonight I ordered the vegan enchiladas, one with soy chorizo and one with veggies. The soy chorizo was VERY good. I was surprised how much I liked it. Good flavor, good texture, and not too dry. The veggies were not as good. They were just barely cooked, leaning more to the raw end, and for me, that just didn't work well in an enchilada. The flavor was fine, but I definitely wish that I had just ordered 2 soy chorizos. As a repeat customer, these small issues are not enough to keep me away from Cafe Corazon. I always enjoy my time there and they have done a particularly good job with their take out/Covid safety procedures. I'm happy to have this business here in Bayview! read more

I will always go out of my way to try another Taco Tuesday deal. Luckily, being able to walk to Cafe Corazon makes the value that much sweeter. Wife and I went for their Tuesday special and were not disappointed. The decor is nice and... eclectic, like a lot of spots on KK (if you're a fan of the Virgin Mary, this is your new favorite restaurant). We had a corner booth and were served very quickly. The house margaritas were great and will be a huge draw for me during happy hour from now on, and the chips and salsa are great too. The house chips are really nicely seasoned, the red salsa is their good family-friendly dip while the green is some seriously hot stuff (big fan of both). The tacos were FANTASTIC. I already can't wait to go again. They're a bit small, so 4 per person was a solid number for us. Be sure to try the pork pibil, carnitas and asada. The chorizo is great but I can't recommend it to everyone just because it can be a bit oily. They all come with similar topping loadouts: onion, cilantro, radish, queso fresco etc. The pickled onions were a great touch. There's a large menu with plenty to try, and with how great the tacos were, we have a lot of reason to explore their other offerings on non Taco Tuesdays, too. I can't say enough about our experience today at Cafe Corazon. Eli and Skyler took amazing care of us and our complex order (lots of subs and add ons) and made us laugh and smile with their compassion and candor. The food here was incredible, as always. Just what I needed after a tough and depressing week at home. For those concerned with safety and sanitation, THEY HAVE IT COVERED. They are taking every precaution and the carry out experience was safe, efficient and couldn't have been better. They have safe spaces taped off on the floor, and they go out of their way to make sure their staff and patrons are protected. I love this place and I hope you do too. Ended up here bcs the Taqueria we were told to check out was closed and we aren't from the area. The bartender was helpful explaining how things worked and we took our glass/number to a table and sat down. Chips were brought out and drinks were ordered. Then it was a little bit of a wait for someone to stop by to take our food order. We ordered queso (which they were out of at 1pm), so we got a small guacamole, a wet burrito with shredded pork and enchiladas with carnitas. I ordered the half/half beans with the enchiladas and enjoyed mixing them and eating them with chips. The rice was hard and flavorless. The wet burrito and enchiladas were good. The green salsa is delicious and HOT - and this is coming from someone that enjoys habenero, jalapeños, and all types of spicy goodness. Don't get me wrong, it had excellent flavor, which a lot of the "hot to be hot" items don't, but most people would not enjoy it. I kept eating it bcs of the flavor and if you mix it with the guacamole that makes the guac taste a lot better. I think they need to work on their wait staff system. It is clear that everyone can/does check on whoever and do whatever, which is great when this actually happens.
