I really hate this area but their $5 strawberry banana smoothie with yogurt was awesome.

This place is fantastic. I stayed for a while to get some studying done. The Spanish latte (espresso and condensed milk) was sweet but not too overwhelming. The soy chai latte was perfect. Because it's downtown SM, I was worried I'd end up paying $7 for a cup of coffee. That's not the case here, as everything was equal to or cheaper than Starbucks prices. I didn't get any of the pastries (it took all of my willpower), but just about every other customer did. Most importantly, the customer service is great, even with the high flow of customers. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

I'm sorry but this place even though very clean and convenient in the middle of Venice has one of the worst coffees I've ever had. Pastry selection is very poor and not fresh. Croissant does not need to be microwaved to be edible. I have not tried their sandwiches and panninis. PEople who work here are really nice though. read more

Paul is the best barista ever. Once you enter the door he will greet you with a smile, he makes your drink with so much care. He works fast and really knows customer service. Food is great! Avocado toast is a must try. I also had the bombolonis before its soo good wonder why they dont have it anymore and the cinnamon rolls!! Come and check them out!! My dad and I enjoyed brunch at cafe Collage. The atmosphere is busy, and the workers are friendly, quick and attentive to take your order. The food was so good my dad was terribly disheartened that he accidentally dropped the last half of his sandwich while eating it. Had we been in town longer we would have gone back for another. I like organic food but this was definitely not anything that I've ever had. I had ordered a turkey club to be on the safe side and I ended up getting some weird turkey sandwich with cranberry's hanging out of it. I politely told the woman behind the counter and she went to the back and I could hear her yell at the guy... then I finally got my sandwich and I could barely finish it. My go to coffee shop in Venice. Go to for a good reason. The staff is awesome and will remember your orders. Lines are never too long. The drinks are of good quality and taste. Expresso lovers will be pleased. If you are health concious the tea's and the green tea lattes are legit. If you are looking for a light meal croissant sandwiches are recommended. read more

It's a convenient location which is close to the bus stop and caters primarily to tourists. The coffee is mediocre and the espresso drinks range from bad to worst. The food offerings are subpar at best. But, if you're a tourist that wants the convenience and doesn't mind stepping through the homeless camped all around around, this place is for you. read more

In addition to coffee and tea, this place serves bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and smoothies. The breakfast sandwiches are good for when I feel lazy about making breakfast myselft. The coffee is nothing special. I'd rather go to Coffeeworks a little farther down, but Cafe Collage has plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating and newspapers people left behind; it's a good place to spend a lazy weekend. read more

Whenever I'm craving coffee or a snack at Venice boardwalk this is def my one-stop shop. They have great coffee, sandwiches, bagels, and smoothies. Being a self-proclaimed café-addict, I have spent hours at a time here, all at different times of the day, and its always busy. And busy with locals, not annoying tourists. Also meets my high café standards for people-watching. You could sit inside or outside and absorb Venice and all of its eccentricities. Friendly helpful staff. read more

Well located. All the pastries are hanmade by a pastry chef! Raspberry cheesecake was awesome! Nice and inviting decor. Next time i am going to try the soups which are made from scratch. Will definitely revisit the next time we are in town. read more

This place is underrated and reminds me of the old Venice. Not pretentious, hip, or expensive. No long line, plenty of comfortable seating. I have to say Cafe Collage is worth the trip up the boardwalk 1 mile. We were visiting the boardwalk and wanted to grab some coffee. This spot is on a corner and had signs boasting latte, coffee...hard to miss, we decided to give it a go. The atmosphere is so chill and artistic. I ended up having a nutella latte and a slice of carrotcake. Both very delicious. They had interesting things on the menu that I'd like to try on my next visit. The prices were reasonable and the customer service was also very friendly and inviting. There are tables to sit indoors, but unfortunately no public restroom. I'd definitely go again to try out another dessert as well as a coffee treat. read more

We came across this little gem accidentally. Went in thinking it was Mao's kitchen and we don't regret a bit about our mistake :). Dishes looked healthy and tasty. They have vegetarian/vegan options as well. The waiter and waitress in this place are kind and courteous. Highly recommend this place to get a quick bite. Cafe Collage is convenient if you live, work, or are passing through the area for lunch. Their food is decent and reasonably priced. I would say the average sandwich or salad costs around $6. They also have smoothies and cookies and such. read more

I visit Collage 3-5 times a week. it is not only the locals coffee shop but it is the best coffee shop AND CAFE in the area. i love the bagel and lox. great sandwiches as well, made to order and very reasonable in price. also very clean. only draw back is the lack of air conditioning on hot summer days. read more

Look. You are in the heart of the tourism of Venice. But the food is good and the hot bevs are great. Free wireless internet (I sat here for 3 days ((no, not all at once)) looking for a new apt in Venice). Good tea selection, a you can get a discounted refill. But don't do what I watched so many people do. They would dig in the trash, find an old togo cup and then come bring it in to get their cheap refill. This practice is not only unethical but it's pretty gross too. Come on. Either make the extra buck or make your own tea/coffee. read more

Cafe Collage is an undervalued coffee shop in the Venice beach area. It deserves so much more praise than it gets, which is why I'm thrilled to be reviewing it. The coffee is strong and very good, and also quite reasonable. The morning crowd of down-and-out beach bums and debilitated winos & tweakers can be a little over the top, but that's the neighborhood, ya know? It's housed in a great old storefront with big windows and an airy beach environment. What makes this place the best is their superior customer service and the friendliness of the counter help. The value, the location, and the product are all really great at Cafe Collage, and those will always keep me coming back. Also, they juice their own OJ every morning and it is seriously the most succulent juice of the gods west of Lincoln. read more

It's not common that you can find a treasured gem like this place. They've been around over 20 years, and for good reason. It's a stone's throw away from the water, in the very heart of tourist country, yet it is THE local's hangout and go-to joint for a great coffee. The sandwiches are very, very good, but they're pricey since they only use top-notch ingredients. I had the roast beef sandwich ($9) on ciabatta bread, and it was one of the best I've ever, ever had! It came with a good selection of chips (not the mass-produced MSG junk you get at Subway) The mocha I got had me chewing my nails off, it was that powerful, and yet it tasted better than any I have ever gotten at a Starbucks or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I see a lot of people whining about the bums. They're outside, not inside, so I don't see how that should reflect on this restaurant's ratings. They have "hired muscle" hidden incognito at all times, to ensure that no wayward transients venture inside or loiter. I was there for 4 hours, doing homework and sipping coffee and water, and I only saw 1 hobo ever go inside, and it was to buy a coffee and split. It truly is a perfect place to people watch too. The babes of Venice are legendary, and this place is ALL windows! Also, the customers seem to be a great mix of handsome, rich locals, and hot college chicks. Fun times!!! read more
