To be painfully honest, the first time I tried Cafe Chica at one of the markets I wasn't sold on it but a friend assured me that I really needed to give them another try and I'm so glad that I did. They really are more than just cute donuts for the gram, although the new space is very cute and picture perfect, they have some solid treats. I've tried a variety of their bomboloni, the pizza, and more. I love that they constantly roll out different flavors and there is always something different to try. Also the owner is a really friendly person, she adds a great personal touch to everything she does. I recently stopped in to try a sandwich which was stunning. Fresh focaccia with beautifully ripe tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and balsamic glaze. I really enjoyed it and it just tasted fresh. read more

I may very well need to make this a full 5 stars next time i make it down, not only does it stay open later than 90% of the cafe's in this town, but it was seriously yummy. the sandwich didnt have the traditional Mufaletta round, but the focaccia was so fluffy and delightful, if its the wrong bread i dont want to be right anymore. my friend got the fig sandwich and she appeared be as enamored with it as i was with mine. Gotta try the pizza next time. but not only is the place bright and fun, but it has a fair number of plugs for people to laptop.. Seriously. i cant find any fault. other than it not being very nearby for me. but seriously unless this was a fluke i will surely be bumping up my rating. (i dont do 5 on the first visit). read more

Wow I didn't realize that I been to this business before but it was when they were in a much smaller structure! This unit now is so much bigger and spacious and very pink! I love the pink decorarions and pink color that this establishment has. The atomsophere very youthful and very cheerful. They have indoors cameras to keep you safe in the establishment. They brew coffee, their famous parties and of course pizza. It was a wonderful experience and the taste is almost present and they definitely know how to make customers happy! read more

I'd tried one of Cafe Chica's bomboloni at the farmers market, and I have visited their new physical location a couple of times during the soft open. It's a very welcoming space with a cute pink aesthetic and a variety of seating areas, including a little kids' nook, a sofa and coffee table, a counter with stools, and multiple tables. The bomboloni are delicious and very filling, and they have a nice selection of coffee, tea, and cocoa with flavored syrups you can add. The service is friendly and helpful. I had heard of them before when they were selling next to Bing tea on occasions. The service was fast and the employees were friendly and nice. They gave us a free mini donut for a promotion they had going on. Very small space (extremely small!) only two to three people fit inside (when ordering)! Can I eat donuts for every meal? Because these donuts are amazinggg. I love that there are new flavors every week, and every single one I've had so far has been incredible. I was most surprised by the Everything But the Bagel donut, but it was my favorite! Crème brûlée was also incredible. We were looking for something sweet at the Railyards Holiday Market and saw Cafe Chica's pop-up booth. I've seen their wares on Instagram so we decided to try them out. They were already sold out of a couple of flavors, so we chose two bombolini - peppermint bark and sugared cranberry. Bombolini are basically the Italian version of a jelly donut and wow, they were delicious! Not greasy at all, filled with delicious housemade fillings, and dipped in granulated sugar. I definitely want to stop at their El Vado location and try other flavors. read more

This was my first visit to this new restaurant. I parked on the street on Central; I think there's more parking around the corner and behind. Nice natural light flows in, and the décor is modern and fresh. Nice color, comfortable casual seating. My understanding is that in the mornings they serve a variety of pastries; I was there in the evening and had pizza. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The kitchen is partly visible and there's a very interesting large gas fired pizza oven. The pizza? Amazing. I will return another time to take photos, but here's what I liked. The crust had a very slight browning and crunch to the outer layer, the inner layer is soft and creamy. It was so good that I talked to the staff about it and was not surprised to learn that they used 00 flour and import it from Italy (Any American wheat farmers want a chance? ). This is a nice addition to the Albuquerque restaurant scene, I am eager to return for the morning fare. read more

Cafe Chica has been around for a while but they just recently relocated to a spot downtown and it is gorgeous!! I've tried their bomboloni's in the past and they are to die for, I do recommend to go in the morning to get them because they are made fresh everyday so sometime they run out at noon. If you happen to go around lunch they offer pizza made to order this visit I tried their beignets which are also made to order they are super fresh and delicious. I literally cannot say enough wonderful things about this shop! They have the most amazing treats I have had in a long while. These truly are a one of a kind of treat! They change flavors weekly so that's always fun! I may have gotten my office addicted to them as well so we all randomly show up to work with a treat for each other. These bomboloni Italian style donuts are AMAZING. This time we tried the pumpkin cheesecake and it was delicious! The donut is perfectly fluffy and crispy. The filling is so light and fluffy but super rich and creamy but not overly sweet. We got two more flavors to try later and I'm sure they'll be just as scrumptious. Took us three tries (yes, THREE) to get our hands on these donuts but third time's the charm and they were worth the wait. There's always a line on weekends so I do recommend stopping in early - we got there around 8:45-9 and waited 15-20 minutes. And the line behind us kept growing! Great service and even better bomboloni. The dough is airy with a solid bite and filled with cream and jam. The strawberry was our favorite! I also ordered a lavendar latte and thoroughly enjoyed pairing it with the bomboloni. The store itself is very small - basically one person/group at a time, however, there's plenty of outdoor seating. The biggest drawback is the wait, but otherwise, I definitely recommend stopping by for a sweet treat. read more

Very good Italian Bomboloni's (donuts) at an iconic location. I had an assortment including Strawberry Chantilly, Crème Brûlée, Spiced Chocolate, London Fog and Chica OG. While they were all good I thought the Creme Brûlée was the best. They only have walkup service to an open window and seating is available outside on the patio. Parking is available around the back of the building in a lot. read more

Lets start by saying that their new space is so cute and they have clearly put lots of time and effort into it. I have been a customer here three times so far, once at the farmers market and twice at their new location. I have had the raspberry jam bombos, two different flavors of the crepe cake and a specialty beverage that week which was dirty horchata. Everything was very good however I think bombos/filled doughnuts are just not my preferred style of pastry so ill probably stick to other menu items. I am obsessed with the texture of the crepe cakes and both flavors I've tried, the dark chocolate and chocolate raspberry, have been delicious and well balanced. I haven't gotten around to trying their standard coffee/lattes but the dirty horchata very good so I imagine their other drinks ate all well. The prices are a little high but I understand that it is a small business and pastries take time. You can tell the owner is passionate and that her goods are a labor of love. Cafe Chica's BomBoms technically called bombolonis are SoOooOo good! This is the second time me and my gf have purchased them. The first time we got them was when they were selling of their truck. I'm so HAPPY that they have a store I can easily drive to now. If I had to rate the bombolonis I would rate them 8.7 out of ten but that's because I'm a very basic sweets person. So they're "Chica OG" i ABSOLUTELY LOVE! 10 out of 10. The reason I LOVE Cafe Chica is because of the amazing customer service I've encountered every time. Me and my gf really wanted some bombolonis tonight but they closed at 4pm and I wasn't gonna be able to pick them up until 5:30. I asked if they could leave my order next door with Buene provecho. She said she would! To my amazement she was still there at Cafe Chica when I arrived at 5:30 and personally gave them to me.
