I want to start off by saying I had a very specific craving recently. I really wanted an apple chai drink. Lucky me, Cake Fetish has an apple caramel fall special, which you could do as a coffee or a chai. I ordered a medium apple caramel chai with oat milk and it was absolutely everything I wanted. I will say it was very sweet, especially the caramel that went to the bottom, but it was exactly what I had wanted. I believe it was inspired by one of those caramel apple suckers, which is one of my favorite Halloween candies. This location is within Tin Can Alley and one of the mini businesses worth checking out. They had a selection of cupcakes as well as ice cream and coffees. Service was good, they weren't super busy, but she brought my drink to me, which is always nice.

I love a good cupcake and I'm so glad that Cake Fetish has moved into Tin Can Alley. They have a prime location inside this fun establishment so just in case you weren't convinced that you needed a cupcake when you walked in they'll be right there to entice you before you walk out the door. I always gravitate towards the mini assortment because I have convinced myself that by doing so I'm not "cheating on my diet that much". If I was forced to choose a regular sized cupcake I'm definitely grabbing the Chocolate Peanut Butter! But with so many choices they're really isn't a wrong decision.

Currently my favorite cupcakes in ABQ. Moist, not too sweet, consistent quality. I don't think this low rating reflects their cupcakes.

Closed by 8pm on a Saturday with the place packed and all other restaurants open. Not great planning.

I am Mexican and my family makes some of the same sorts of pastries- these were fantastic! And finally, Mr Morales- what a wonderful person and genuinely an inspiration not only as a world class baker, but also as a guru for how to live your best life. He is amazing!

To start, as we came in, we were offered a biscochito to try while we decided on what to order. Honestly, the decision was hard... so many delicious looking things on the menu but finally decided on a salami and provolone sandwich, with green chile bread. Wow! Amazing sandwich, fresh, delicious! While we were enjoying our food, Pratt Morales, the owner and master baker, came out and talked to us for a while. This was a real treat, great positive attitude and love for what he does. He even introduced us to one of his specialties the Turkey shaped bread he makes for Thanksgiving. So popular now he gets hundreds of orders per year. We left with some biscochitos and other cookies to go, and a desire to try more things when we are back in Albuquerque.

He even joked that they were "out of everything," which got a laugh and set a fun, relaxed tone. The music was rocking when I walked in, which I loved, although it eventually switched to something a little more mellow. Still, the overall atmosphere was inviting and made me want to stick around. I ordered an Iced Americano, and it was solid. You can tell they use quality espresso, but I personally would have liked it just a bit stronger. Next time, I'll probably ask for an extra shot to make it perfect for my taste. The real standout was the cinnamon roll. It had the ideal texture with a gooey, cinnamon-filled center, and they certainly didn't skimp on the cream cheese frosting. There was enough frosting to induce a sugar overdose, in a good way. The shop itself was clean, comfortable, and designed to make you want to stay awhile. They have a huge selection of board games and LEGO sets, so you could easily spend a couple of hours hanging out with friends or family. I also asked about the stage and learned they host karaoke and open mic nights a couple of evenings each week, which adds another fun reason to come back. Between the genuinely friendly staff, quality coffee, incredible cinnamon roll, and welcoming atmosphere, this is a place I'll definitely be visiting again.
