This is a must!!! Such an awesome vibe! And the pastry's are probably some of the best I've ever had!! Paired with their fresh coffee made everything so freakin good!!! I'll absolutely be coming back and recommending to others.

I've been to Flying Roadrunner Bakery twice during my few work trips to ABQ. It's in a great location - old town Albuquerque - and features coffees, matcha, teas, and fresh-baked goods. No other place have I been able to try a green chile and gouda croissant. The pic I snapped didn't do it justice - buttery and flackey layers with a soft and chewy texture. Aside from the croissants and crossaint sandwiches, conchas are also a popular bread item. There's plenty of seating, outlets for laptops, murals to check out and local art for sale. It's also woman-owned. :)

Very quaint spot with friendly service and a nice selection of pastries and coffees. I went for my first Elite event. And they had an improv group for some entertainment. Nice afternoon event!

Flying Roadrunner is absolutely the reason you should be hanging out in old town more. Seriously it's businesses like this that have made the area an absolute gem. On my most recent visit, I was able to try some of their more spring inspired treats, including a beautiful peach tart and their Cubano inspired croissant sandwich. Both were really amazing. I'm glad I planned on sharing them because I would have happily scarfed down both alone. They're always so friendly in the space is very warm. They have cool local art on the walls and just a lot of cute little details. I highly recommend keeping an eye out for their seasonal changes and inspired flavors.

Another amazing experience at this gem in old town. The service and food are always top line. You can never go wrong.

Most flavorful Ruby Danish I ever had. Soft, moist and so "juicy"! I was lucky to arrive just in time at this bakery. Their cakes, pastries were about sold out. It's a spacious place so I can imagine lines and crowds forming in the early hours. Will definitely check it out again when in town and will arrive earlier.

Overall: Flying Roadrunner is a cute bakery and coffee shop in Old Town with some of the best croissants and danishes in town. Food: 5 Every pastry that I have tried here has been excellent. Pan Au Chocolate: This was perfectly flaky, and I like how the chocolate is spread out throughout the entire pastry rather than just one log at the center. Turkey Croissant Sandwich: I'm not usually a fan of sweet and savory but the tiny bit of strawberry jam in this savory sandwich was delicious. You can ask them to warm it up so the cheese is nice and melty! Chorizo & Cheese Croissant: This was a surprising filling for a croissant but it was delicious. Cinnamon Rolls: These are not your typical soft cinnamon rolls. It has an almost caramelized bottom that's slightly crispy. They're also GIGANTIC. Service: 5 The employees were very nice and patient while we decided on our orders. Ambiance: 5 The shop has both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a nice little spot to sit and just people watch at the center of Old Town.

Cute place tucked in the back of an Albuquerque old town plaza. They serve some delicious stuffed croissants as well as other tasty treats. Friendly behind the bar people work hard and fast. Decorated with a creative flair that feels welcoming.

My goodness this is a sweet local find!! I've yet to try something here that I didn't absolutely love! And can we take a moment to talk about the amazing pavers who just give the community welcoming vibe! Love it here

    Almond Croissant

The almond croissant had me raving. Crispy, with fluffy layers and an absolutely delicious almond cream. I was delighted by it! I stopped by around 1pm and there was still stock, but when I passed by again about an hour or so later, they had completely sold out. The place is decorated very nicely, but I felt it was lacking in seating.

Away in old town, this local coffee shop in bakery is a great gathering place whether you're touring old town or just looking for a different kind of coffee shop to experience. Our group ordered off of the seasonal Coffee menu getting the Erika, Dalgona and Dark Chocolate Spiced Latte.

    Blueberry Cruffin & Cappucino

I treated myself to a delicious Blueberry pastry and a large cappuccino. This business is a new discovery for me so I thought I'd check them out. You order from the counter and choose a comfy place to sit. Street parking is available near the plaza however if you choose to order take out, you can park in the lot next door for no longer than 20 minutes.

Bake the Cycle Adorable family-owned and run bakery that "...specializes in french pastries with a New Mexican flare." We stopped in here on our last full day in ABQ to get a light bite and caffeineted to start our day, and it was a pleasant experience. The Good: *Located in Old Town Albuquerque, which is one a must-see if you're visiting ABQ. *Great décor with lots of local art showcased *Red Chile Mocha was fantastic as it showcased the harmonious balance between chocolate and chiles that everyone needs to try to believe. *Cruffins were flaky and buttery as advertised *Friendly service The Meh: *Biscochito Cruffin didn't have that classic anise and cinnamon flavor of a traditional Biscochito in the cream, only the tiny cookie. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious, but it would've been a flavor bomb if they'd flavored the cream. *Only street parking (i.e., metered) on Mon - Sat 0700 - 1800 (free on Sundays and holidays) Conclusion: Fantastic spot in Old Town to get high-quality baked goods and an excellent cup o' Joe.

This place definitely falls into the first category. This morning I went with the single origin Guatemala drip, and it was exactly what a solid cup of coffee should be. Smooth, rich, and balanced with a nice chocolate note that hangs around just long enough to make you take another sip. No bitterness. No burnt taste. Just a clean, well-roasted cup that says someone here actually cares about the beans. The shop itself has a personality, which I always appreciate. It's decorated with fishing lures, fish artwork, and sculptures scattered around the place. Naturally this leads to the obvious conclusion: the owner is either an avid fisherman... or coffee roasting is just the side hustle between trout expeditions. Either way, the theme works. The space feels relaxed, creative, and comfortable. The kind of place where you can sit with a cup and not feel rushed out the door. And speaking of doors, while I was there there was a steady flow of customers coming in and out. That's usually the universal coffee signal for yep, this place is doing something right. Bottom line: Great coffee, cool atmosphere, and a shop with enough character to keep things interesting. I'll definitely be back for another cup of that Guatemala.

There is additional outside seating to the side and farther from the road too. I look forward to my next trip.

Even if you don't "bike in", you're welcome to check out the beautiful grounds, the feasting cranes, the crops thriving, and the abundance of happy people. And the food is tasty, too! I enjoyed a few street tacos - $4 each, filled with deliciousness, and made with care. My group and I shared a Berry Crepe as an extra treat, and the lemonade was just as I like it . . . not too tart and not too sweet. Did I mention the wonderful music? A trio provided a steady stream of mellow rock at just the right volume. I understand that they are hoping to encourage people to cycle instead of drive, but it seemed a bit much to pay to buy food at their establishment. Next, the line was Looooong and moved at a glacial pace. While chatting with others in line, the wait time seemed to be pretty typical for weekends. Waiting over an hour in the sun to place an order is too long yall. It's time to open a second window to take orders quicker. The food was truly sad. :( We ordered an oatmeal cookie (flavorless), the Green Chile bagel sandwich (which wasn't really a bagel? It was a roll and it was super greasy.), a lemonade (so watered down it was basically lightly flavored water), veggie and fish tacos (both of which needed seasoning and were cold, PLUS the veggies on the veggie taco were those pre mixed vegetables kits you buy at the grocery store that come frozen in the bulk section. So soggy, cold and not appetizing.) and an iced coffee which was fine but weak. The location is doing all the heavy lifting for this place, because it is truly stunning. Green trees everywhere and lots of outside space to sit. But with all these negatives, plus lots of up-charging on the menu, we won't be back. Sorry guys, Albuquerque knows good food, and this ain't it.
