"Bruschetta." Thick slices of sesame seed bread with lukewarm congealed cheese and one tomato.

Service: Great. Food: Terrible. Ambiance: Lighting is overly harsh. Change your bulbs please. I think this is one of Reading's only restaurants that have been able to survive, so they have a following. But the food is terrible. You might go there to meet up with friends but don't expect any classic Italian dishes. Our wedding soup was cold with large chunks of barely cooked spinach, and our "bruschetta" consisted of congealed cheese and one tomato on an enormous soft piece of sesame seed bread. The chicken parm comes with a dish of Prego style sauce and ziti. The cherry in top of this terrible meal was the crusty glass my red wine was served in. Not worth your time or money.

Visited Cafe Capri for family birthday party! I haven't been to Cafe Capri in a long, long time. I would say close to 20 years. I have always been a fan just not geographically close as I use to be. We had a party of 9. We got there a different times so we started with some drinks and waited to order when everyone arrived. It was dinner time so it was a busy time....lots of peoople in and out picking up orders to go. They were hopping around the bar and all the tv's had games on, including the preview of the MNF game. Certainly a good vibe. We ordered 4 pizzas (2 cheese, 2 pepperoni, a chicken finger dinner and a caesar salad) all of the food came out at the same time, which is always nice. The food was hot and looked great....see pics! We all were very pleased with the food as it was devoured with one slice of pizza left! The service was great...although she was up against it with a table of 9 plus, I am sure, other tables! We all left pleased and full...which is always a good thing! 5 stars and I will be back before I left another 20 years slide by! PS: Plenty of parking....price was great!

*Covid 19* First time here, I don't go to reading often place give me hives but my husband said this place hads good pizza. So we grab a pizza and some Zella sticks. Both were yummy. I really loved the crust, we did ask for well done. I would definitely order again. I'm not sure if they do delivery or not, but the pizza was yummy.

Eh. Overpriced pizza. Was cold when it was delivered. Better choices around.

Never had a bad meal and staff is great!!! I would recommend this place to anyone new to the area. The steak tip sub is one of the best.

Decent local pizza place. Subs are pretty good too. The dining area is great for a pizza shop.

The go-to on a Sunday night when you are in your PJ's and feel like doing NOTHING. They have a decent bar in there. Weird hours though.

Stopped in for one last lunch before bidding the Boston area adieu. My sister lives in Stoneham and…read moresuggested this spot, thinking it would have something for everyone in our crew. The menu? Vast. Like, "do-I-need-a-compass-to-navigate-this" vast, with plenty of options. It's always amusing to me how different parts of the U.S. have their own regional food quirks (like here in MA, where steak tips, roast beef sandwiches, and open-faced turkey sammies reign supreme). I was stuck between a couple of local specialties, but our delightful waitress, Haley, steered me in the direction of the Thanksgiving turkey sandwich, mentioning they roast a turkey every day (cue angels singing). I swapped out the fries for onion rings, because, duh! This sandwich? It could have fed a small village. It was a beast. A delicious beast, but an unwieldy one. I ended up abandoning the bread for the good stuff and tackled it with a knife and fork. All in all? Absolutely scrumptious. Bonus points for the bathrooms, which were clean as a whistle, and fear not! If you're afraid of missing the a Celtics 3 pointer or a Red Sox baseball toppling over the "green monstah" while nature calls, there's a giant screen perfectly viewable from the toilet. Yes, you can literally watch the game while you pee. Talk about a win-win situation!

Exactly what we were looking for. Great bar, great service, and the food was top notch.read more

It feels like a sports bar but the bar area is small and instead has a brick oven for pizza. The food was great - pizza was cooked well and tasted good. The salad had a little too much dressing, but that was minor. The garlic knots were really good - clearly made on site and loads of garlic which we love. I have young kids so they went for the Nutella pizza for dessert. I wasn't sure how it would come out, but it was really good! The strawberries gave it a lighter sweetness and balanced the Nutella. The meal itself was great. The facility itself could use some attention. The bathrooms were a bit dingy and the stall doors had holes in them - covered by cardboard for privacy but replacing or fixing the door would be the better option.

Convenient, but the area can get backed up with wonky individuals when it comes to driving. The review is about pizza though- the main attraction of Anthony's. We usually sit at the bar and there is an outdoor covered-seating option as an extension of the bar which is pretty nice. Indoors doesn't stand out a lot as far as mood goes- it is standard fare but slightly above that I'd say. Honestly I find it a little on the darker side for my liking. The staff are usually nice though sometimes we get a few screwballs. Typically there's regulars we get at the bar and they are good people- particularly Joey. They should give that guy a raise I'm pretty sure he is a manager. The food- which has mainly been the pizza we have had, is amazing. It's fresh and oven fired in house and the taste reflects that. You can customize your pizza as much as you like and staff are happy to oblige. We usually do a custom garlic, chicken and white pizza- which I highly recommend. They have lunch deals too if you're in around that time and frequently send emails for pizza deals during the week which is a nice plus. Overall you should definitely go if you haven't yet- it beats the average house of pizza by a long shot.
