Decent but somewhat pricy Korean dessert cafe inside Hanin Village. Parking is fairly plentiful in the strip mall lot. However, it does get pretty packed and busy because of the H-Mart on the premises. The inside is quaint and cozy. Nice wooden trim on the walls. Staff are friendly but are a bit lacking in the English department. Had to gesture a bit to get my order through. No big deal though. The place sells some tasty looking cakes, though I didn't try. My strawberry smoothie was quite nice. Personally I found half sugar to be the sweet spot (no pun intended). Overall not a bad place to check out, as long as one doesn't mind the stressful parking situation.

Came here just before closing. The cakes were sooo good! I loved the earl grey cake, the frosting was not too sweet and had the right amount of tea flavour. We got the blueberry yogurt and carrot cake too. I only had a bite of the blueberry yogurt cake and it tasted just like blueberry yogurt! The texture was more mousse like with a sponge cake in the bottom. The cafe is cute and cozy, it seems like a good study spot. The staff was also very nice and friendly.

This is strictly a dessert and coffee and drinks place. Don't expect any savory food here. Old menus before covid showed they did have sandwiches then, but not since then. The iced mocha I had was not nice at all. It tasted a bit strange and I could tell what it was. The chocolate used or the coffee itself or milk? The roasted crispy almond was nice but at $5 for a pack of 3, a bit pricy. The matcha cake was nice but it was more mousse and cream than cake. Good place to catch up with friends though. Plenty of tables. For something more filling than cakes, there are some muffins and croissants. Nothing special.

Earl grey cake layered with grapefruits

I had found this hidden gem last time and shared a slice of earl grey cake with my friend. The cake had been devilishly delicious: soft sponge cake layered with fresh grapefruit and topped with velvety earl grey infused whipped cream. Just enough sweet to make us feel happy and leave us wanting more. Yesterday, I called to see if Cafe Bono can make an earl grey birthday cake for my dad. They had less than 24 hrs' notice but they went above and beyond in order to accomodate my request. My dad was ecstatic when he saw the cake. Both my mom and dad loved the flavour, the hidden grapefruit inside, and the fresh fruits on top. Three of us finished half of the cake in one sitting even though we were absolutely full after the big birthday lunch. Thank you, everyone in Cafe Bono! You created a special moment for my dad and my family!

Ok so I've only tried the sweet potato cake from here but it is very, very good. The combination of real sweet potato bits, whipped cream and fluffy sponge infused with sweet potato flavor is delish. Everyone trying it with me enjoyed it, though one person did feel it was a little too sweet, for the rest of us it was just right. Recommend this if you'd like a well priced birthday cake in a less traditional flavor. Interior of the shop looks nice too, I imagine it's a nicer place to hang out when dine in is allowed.

Had dessert and tea at this place after our dinner and tried the ice snow and some cakes and our experienced was good. The place were not busy and staff are friendly and accommodating. The Ice Snow is good but not my favorite. I expected so much with the Red Velvet and it turns out to be just good. My Earl Grey tea is still my favorite.

New Korean coffee and dessert cafe. Cozy and clean inside. They serve a variety of drinks and desserts, including Korean snow ice. We had an iced Americano and house-made grapefruit soda during our first visit. The Americano had good flavour. For the soda, they used a lot of real grapefruit, which was a nice surprise. We haven't tried the cakes yet, but the other pastries so far have been very good. The cakes seem they could use a bit more refinement in terms of appearance. Staff has been very friendly during our visits. We will be back to try other items.

One of the better coffee shops in the Korea town area of Burnaby/Coquitlam. I normally go here after having my lunch in Korea town. Interior is spacious, clean and up to date and coffee here is excellent. Cappuccino is always made just right. Service is friendly and efficient.

I was in the mood for some coffee so got a latte to go from Cafe Bono. Since we were going to be going for a walk, I decided against getting a cake from their display case but did they all look oh so tempting. They have a very large open space which seems perfect for meeting friends when the pandemic is over or to get some studying/work done. They use Pallet coffee and although the latte was good, I wouldn't say it was outstanding. However, I would be interested in visiting again to try out some of their other offerings the next time I am in the area. +1 for cafe ambience/interior.

Cute cafe with friendly staff. Clean and easy to find. Walking distance to the skytrain station and bus stops. Parking lot right outside. Smoothie, coffee, tea, cakes, and some pastries. I come back from time to time, and got a birthday cake there for my friend's birthday. She really liked it

small and cute hidden cafe in Coquitlam with desserts, coffee, korean shaved ice (bingsoo) and drinks. Conveniently located across from Hmart in the same square. overall it's a bit pricey, but their cafe space is nicely decorated, and clean Pistachio Cheesecake, creamy and mousse like, only has a subtle taste of pistachio with white chocolate topping. Tiramisu cake was pretty good, the cake was super spongy and airy, the taste of the espresso coffee wasn't too bitter nor too sweet, was balanced just right. they also have a tiramisu cup as well, and i think that one would also taste pretty good too. Sweet potato latte was ok, didn't really stand out in comparison to sweet potato latte I've had in other places. cuz Bono cafe's tasted basically like a sweet potato flavoured steamed milk Pistachio Cheesecake $5.5 Tiramisu Cake $5.5 Sweet Potato Latte $3.5 Vanilla Latte $4.95

Love this spot! They have great Spanish lattes and the decor is very aesthetic and pleasing to sit around. I do have to agree, though, about the patrons that come here...perhaps because it's open later in the evening in a strip mall I find that you can often find very loud-speaking older men that kinda kill the peaceful vibe. And also big groups of middle-aged ladies in the afternoon taking up a lot of space. I often can't stay too long because the juxtaposition between the mood of the cafe and the vibe of the patrons are so jarring.

Earl Grey cake with bits of grapefruit inside ~ try even if you're not a fan of grapefruit!

Cakes, baked goods, bing soo, teas, and expresso drinks ~ just about something for anyone who has a sweet tooth. Surprising though, the Earl Grey cake I had was not super sweet. It had a lot of cream with Earl Grey infused into it and pieces of fresh grapefruit inside the layers - what an interesting and tasty combo! The prices are standard for homemade cakes shops. The mini cakes range from $5.99-6.99. From what I saw for the bing soo, it's competitive to others in the area. They also offer two sizes of bing soo which is nice. The teas are loose leaf and poured into a tea bag at the time of order. There are samples of each tea bottled by the cash register. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor (especially the washrooms - so gorg!) The ambiance has a clean, modern feel but I agree with fellow yelp'ers that it can get pretty loud in the space.

Definitely smaller than I imagined but the coffee was good and honestly that's all I needed. Bought the drink and went on my way.

Makes it a great choice to finish off an evening with friends or to bring home. Their flavours are great and they add in new ones regularly! My favourite is the hotteok, highly recommend. Getting a 5 pack is totally worth it. They reheat well in the air fryer and makes for a good snack at home. Can get loud and busy on weekends so to go is better then!

I usually get the flavored taiyaki here. Compared to traditional taiyaki, Little Pisces ones are chewier, sort of like fried mochi. The fillings are all very good and they're freshly made. They have a 5-piece combo deal where it comrs out to just a little over $3 per taiyaki. The supermarket right below sells 3 taiyakis (that are very good) for about $5 though, so Little Pisces is a bit expensive comparatively. The ice cream come with a taiyaki on top and is super cute. There's usually quite a long line to order and to get the food. Sometimes the line is out the door. Even after ordering, they give you a little buzzer thing that buzzes when your order is ready. This can take quite a long time if there's alot of people. While there is seating, it is limited and people tend to stay awhile, so don't depend on being able to eat inside. In the winter it kind of sucks as you have to exit to eat. I also came here for their hot chocolate festival drinks. The lines were insanely long. The hot chocolate was $12 each and not very big. While the flavors were unique, they weren't very good overall and took forever to wait for.
