Listen. I've lived in the Milwaukee metro for six years now (what? how is that possible? I don't know) and immediately upon moving here six years ago, I made it my business to find all the best coffee shops. Or, so I thought. It's not often that I discover a new-to-me shop but somehow Cafe Blue just wasn't on my radar. I just missed them somehow. Well, no longer! This spot became a new favorite in one visit. Came here on a Saturday morning for some coffee, eats, and hoping to play a game or two of cribbage with my favorite cribbage opponent. Cafe Blue is a small coffee shop but they do have several tables and a comfortable vibe. They have a signature coffee drink menu, from which I ordered their snickers latte (as sweet and delicious as it sounds). For my breakfast, I opted for their breakfast quesadilla, which comes with choice of meat or veggies (I opted for sausage). It was ample, fresh made, and delicious. As I mentioned, they're a small shop. When we were in, there was only one person working. So that one person was working as barista, cook, and cashier. So, did our drinks and food take a few minutes? Yes. Did we care? Not at all. And, the drinks and eats were both worth the wait. This spot is definitely serving up one of the best fast casual coffee shop breakfasts in the Milwaukee metro as far as I'm concerned. Get to it! read more

A small coffee shop, first time going there they had some nice music playing in the background got a I'm enjoy a latte. Super good a nice spot to have a quick lunch or nice little date. Love this place. Great area in Washington Heights, usually empty or close to it. The store is small but plenty of seating to get comfy in. The music is eclectic and vibey. For food, I usually get The Grinder but don't expect it to fly out--had to wait a while. Carly recommended the Blackberry Honey Pie Latte and I've gotten it every time since. They offer 24oz iced coffee drinks too which is sometimes hard to come by! This is a great place to read, work, or just daydream. Check out the art installations too. This has been a short time bookmark and today I knocked it off the list as my lunch spot. Parking was very easy with plenty of street parking right in front. The place can best be described as the 70s word groove with the colorful walls and unique art on the walls. Are the miss match chairs on purpose or just at the wrong tables ?. The menu is small with breakfast and lunch options and a cold case with various sweets, drinks etc. I opted for the Grinder that sounded good with ham, salami, pepperoni, onion, creamy Italian dressing, provolone, mozzarella, greens drizzled with olive oil/vinegar. My first impression was that it was kind of skimpy with the ingredients for a $9 sandwich compared to most sandwich shops and very thin. The sandwich was tasty with the nicely toasted bread and warm melty cheese that came with a bag of chips. I hate to say that the average person with a healthy appetite will find this sandwich small. I have to say that this was the smallest/thinnest panini that I have ever had. read more

Relaxed cafe meets hole-in-the-wall is the best way I can describe this place. Great coffee, and the menu is simple but elevated. The wifi password was offered immediately upon purchase and written down for our table by a very nice women. Parking seems to be a non-issue the few times I've stopped in. read more

Really nice coffee shop. I work from home and wanted to find somewhere I could get work done while having coffee. Many places are closed for dine in. This place was recommended to me. Great customer service, tasty latte's, bakery items, etc. There is music playing in the background but with headphones, you can easily tune it out to get some work done or have a meeting. Super spot. The quiche (today was vegetable) was outstanding! Think quiche is a 1/2" thick hockey puck? Not here! Light, egg custard 2.5-3" thick with an outstanding flaky crust and both pretty and tasty veggies. Wow. Coffee was delicious, too (had drip coffee and latte with an extra shot). I got a bacon egg & cheese (a lot of it!) on a bagel (came everything bagel), got myself a turkey sandwich w the Asian slaw on focaccia (very flavorful and light) for lunch (comes w kettle chips, I added the pickle bc I'm a psycho and love them drenched in pickley juice), and splurged w a slice of pumpkin choc chip bread! I cannot complain about anything. This is a hidden gem, as I lived near by and never been. I'm so ashamed. The eggs were fried medium (so ideal), and as I ordered from an app, they listened to all the details on my order! I will definitely be back in person to support and love directly. This is a cute Tosa-neighborhood coffee shop. It's very casual, locally-owned. The owner was the only one working. He made a nice latte, and I was very appreciative that they offer almond milk as an alternative to dairy and soy. They use Colectivo coffee, which I actually wish they would consider switching to another local coffee brand to support and advertise a smaller company. They had a small display of baked goods and a small but tasty-looking soup and sandwich menu. I did not try any of the food items, so I can't comment on them, but all of the ingredients sounded good to me. Although it'd be great if they could offer a veggie-side as an alternative to the potato chips. In regards to non-consumables, I appreciated the wifi - really fast and reliable, which I needed for the work I was trying to accomplish. I also thought the local art on the walls was great (and it's for sale!). They had awesome prints by Tim Decker, a former 'Simpsons' animator. That was a fun way to decorate and they were a welcome reprieve from my computer time. I will definitely go back. read more

Adorable cafe in East Tosa. It happens to feature my favorite shade of blue on all the walls, so that's a plus right there! The cafe serves Colectivo coffee, and it's your typical, delicious Colectivo coffee. The baked goods (sandwiches, pastries, etc.) looked good, but I didn't try any. They sell yesterday's goods for a dollar, so I may have to stop back to try that! I'd only love to see this place have more variety in seating to add to its casual coffee shop atmosphere. All it has is tables and chairs. Tables are fine and comfortable enough, but a couch or two would be nice. read more

If you're not a fan of the homogenized place that basically serves processed foods, is incredibly impersonal, only fills your cup 3/4 of the way (I'm referring to Starbucks, any location, anywhere), come here, this is the antithesis of the corporate coffee shop. read more

I decided to update my review on my favorite Tossa coffee shop as I am slowly trying new items on the menu I recently tried their Grinder sandwich and am now hooked. The grinder comes with ham, pepperoni, salami, mozzarella, provolone, Italian dressing, oregano, onion and lettuce all on focaccia bread. I recommend getting the whole sandwich as a half will leave you wanting more. The sandwich comes hot with a side of potato chips on the side. The sandwich has a nice amount of spice to it due to the pepperoni and salami. When creating the sandwich the owner took care to make sure that it as flavorful hence the addition of oregano and Italian dressing. It does not disappoint. A second sandwich that I tried recently was the mushroom melt. This is a perfect sandwich for my vegetarian friends. It comes with mushrooms, spinach leaves, provolone, and Italian dressing. This dish also comes with a side of chips. The mushrooms and the spinach leaves were fresh and the meal itself was tasty and a nice healthy option. Lastly I wanted to mention the local art on the wall at the shop. Every few months or so the art changes. I didn't know until recently that the paintings were for sale! I recently bought a drawing by Tim Decker, former Simpsons animator, who is now living in tossa while at the coffee shop. The drawing was affordable and a nice addition to a Saturday coffee shop study day. There are still more baked goods and lunch items that I would love to try. I am sure that over time I will get to. Small, local, mom and pop shop. Great coffee, interesting people. Eclectic shop, i suppose. Only issue is its always super hot in there. Winter, summer...expect to roast. My favorite coffee shop in Tosa. The owner is extremely welcoming and personable every time we come in - and she makes a mean cup of... everything. The only thing I wish Cafe Blue offered is a place to tie a dog leash while placing an order. Currently the only option is a street light across the sidewalk near the front door but it's awfully close to the road for my comfort. read more
