This is a great venue for group events/outings. The food was good and the atmosphere and service was top tier! The staff was friendly and kind with our group. They have self parking on a free parking lot. Here's my rating on the meals: *Savory Chicken Crepes: 3/5 *Breakfast Tacos: 3/5 *French Toast: 4/5 *Country Fried Steak: 3.5/5 *All American Breakfast: 4/5

Paella
Hayley F.

Came here for lunch and was not disappointed by the food. The paella was fragrant, flavorful, and there were threads of saffron in the dish. The ingredients were fresh. The mussels, shrimps, calamari, chorizo, and chicken were perfectly cooked. The whole dish was delicious. The lamb shank was big, and super tender. The mash potato and green bean sides were good too. Baklava for dessert was the perfect ending. The phyllo pastry was crispy, thin, and flaky. The ground walnuts added extra texture, and the honey brought the dessert together. Scrumptious! The baklava was served with a small scoop of ice cream on the side. I have never eaten a baklava with ice cream so it was new to me. However, I found the ice cream to be unnecessary as the baklava was already a sweet dessert. I couldn't taste the sweetness from the ice cream after eating just one small spoon of baklava. I received great service today and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The restaurant has an olden but modern look, and there are plenty of seats for small and big groups. There is plenty of parking too. I will be back for sure.

Chicken piccata.

This place serves amazing food that comes out fast, and the people who work there are friendly and attentive. I had no trouble getting in and out for a quick, delicious lunch.

Pork Chop Au Poivre

The Houston Restaurant Week menu that Cafe Benedicte absolutely drew me in, but when I arrived, I didn't order from that menu (of course!). Today was unfortunate because the AC was not working properly. It was a bit warm, but I had driven 20 minutes and didn't want to turn back. The staff was incredibly accommodating due to this issue. I started off with the brie and while I though the brie with fig jam was awesome (perfect balance of savory and sweet), it came with 4 crisps... for an entire glob of brie. Definitely would have preferred a few more. All in all though, good cheese. I couldn't decide between the lamb shank and the pork chop. I decided to order the pork chop because this is the entree I saw on the HRW menu and what initially drew me in. I thought the presentation was awesome, but the waiter asked me to cut into the pork chop to check that it was cooked all the way, which I thought was interesting (I've never had to do that with a pork chop before). The pork chop was tasty, but I didn't think the sauce added anything in terms of balance to the grill. It's not a bad sauce at all, it just didn't complement the pork all that well. I thought the mashed potatoes were amazing and tasty. The green beans were also well-cooked. Would I come back to Cafe Benedicte? Absolutely.

Braised Lamb Shank

In a word Magnifico. The ambience, the wine, the food, the entire experience was worthy of more than 5 stars! The Lamb Shank was perfectly seasoned and melt in mouth tender Yukon Mashed Potatoes and Fresh Seasoned Green Beans were the delightfully tasty companions to this hearty gourmet meal. The Pasta Primavera with Seasonal Vegetables in and Shallot Butter with Basil Pesto, Crème, and Farfalle was replete with wonderful flavors and nirvana to the palate. We'll be back often...with friends!

Tucked away off of Memorial, Cafe Benedicte bares the air of familiarity. It's raucous, but welcoming. Unassuming with a twinge of pretension. All of this would beg an eyebrow raise if their food wasn't exceptional, but every bite of their Savory Chicken Crepe validated my life choices. Savory, it was. Their peach mimosa was a generous champagne pour, but I was never asked if anyone could refill it. Aggrieved by the oversight, I returned to my crepe for comfort, which it bountifully provided. The service wasn't great, but the food, divine.

Once again, incredible service, amazing food, wonderful ambience - truly a special place! Chicken Tangine and the Portobello Appetizer were so delicious, so perfectly prepared that you must try them!!

Café Benedicte is another Houston's hidden gem. I love coming here for lunch, the food is phenomenal! I have come here several times since I work near here. The first time here, it was my department Christmas luncheon. I had Steak Diane - Filet Mignon Medallions in a Bordeaux Demi-Glace w/ baby portabella mushrooms & onions. Delicious! Since then, I came back here for other luncheons and had many entrées. Another favorite is the Pork Chop Au Poivre - Brandy and Green Peppercorn cream sauce. Service is always excellent. They have a small private room for guests if you have a conference meeting. I would like to come back to try their brunch menu!

Lamb Burger Caprese

We met with friends here on a Friday night. It was nothing like we expected! All I knew from a quick online search was that this is a popular brunch spot. We thought the atmosphere would be laid back, but it was quite upscale in the evening! There was live music - a pianist! And candlelit tables. We felt a bit underdressed! The clientele seemed older (not that there is anything wrong with that!) It is a Mediterranean restaurant - I also would not have guessed that from what I skimmed before arriving. We were seated quickly, and the staff was courteous and friendly. They brought baskets of bread to our table. They have a wine menu and well stocked bar. We loved the food! Everything tasted amazing. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our dinner. It felt calming and cozy and was the perfect place to catch up with friends after a long work week. 4 stars because we did have to send back the lamb shank for being undercooked. The staff handled it with grace, and it came back perfectly cooked. The soup arrived warm instead of hot. I didn't ask for it to be heated up, though I'm sure they would have been happy to do it. This is a lovely place for a date! I'm sure we will be back.

Great atmosphere, welcoming and chic with the piano music. Enjoyed my omelette with the side of French toast

However, we were charged for it at the end. I understand the charge itself, but no one at the table had ordered it; they just set it on the table. It would have been nice if the staff had made it clear or asked if we wanted to add it to our meal. Perhaps there was a mix up with another table. Our experience was otherwise great, but double check the menu for what is complimentary and what isn't.

Thankfully, my friend had called ahead and asked for a table as we were rolling about 7 folks deep, and we were seated instantly. The place is pretty nondescript located in the same shopping strip as a gas station. They serve your standard Greek fare, but they also get creative and serve things a different way. For instance, we ordered the Greek fajitas, which was pieces of gyro meat with bell peppers, and onions served on a hot sizzling plate. It was very similar to going somewhere and ordering a Gyro plate, but I appreciated the way it was served. The meat was tender and so well seasoned. In my opinion it's hard to get Gyros right, it's easy to dry it out, and often it's too salty. That's not the case here! Around the table people ordered a slew of diverse dishes, and the clear winner was the lamb shank! Next time we go we're getting that. The person who owns this place is incredibly sweet, there was a birthday party at the table next to us, and she came by to us, introduced herself, and explained that when they drop plates to celebrate we are to join in, and yell Opa! Love that some places still do this, it's a cute tradition! Can't wait to go through more of the menu and try again, next time I'm up for a trek!

All 3 meals were really flavorful, good quality, really well-seasoned, very juicy and so delicious. The gyros and burger are without question imo the best in TX. Ekko's and Nick The Greek are 2nd n 3rd for Greek food for me. I always got the gyros sandwich as opposed to the plate before which is odd bc I always prefer meat plates over sandwich form in other foods like bbq, steak, etc. The meat pieces were all really tasty and had some slight char to them too. The taziki sauce is always cold, creamy in feel and refreshing with a good yogurt aroma to it. It's a great bonus and the gyros didn't even need it tbh. The tomatoes were nicely refreshing and the exotic, cool center dolma is always a little treat with meals here. The rice and chunky lemon potatoes with my meals were always mild but still great in texture and prep. As I said before; from my experiences in every single Greek cafe, if the taziki sauce is good, the gyros will be too. It's a solid symptom and indicator imo. As for the burger, very rarely are burger places only in TX actually any good for the past 15 years. So many are just average or below lacking seasoning or a great overall flavor. Niko Niko's, Goode Company Hamburgers and TX Hamburger Palace are my top 3 in that order for it. Each different too. The brioche buns were just the right thickness and very soft to make the beef patty stick out well. The patty was so nice in charbroiled taste, saltiness, richness, beefiness and tender in every bite. A good burger doesn't need much in toppings, but cool, refreshing, tomatoes are a must for me and pickles add some tangy crunch too. For steak rare, but for a burger medium to medium rare. I had never seen or heard of their Greek Spaghetti n Meat Sauce before. This was like a Greek Bolognese with a lot of love in its flavor. The noodles were drained, very moist and so soft. I don't like too much cheese, so I took some off, but still like some. The meat sauce gravy itself was really flavorful, savory, fatty enough and had that subtle sweet, warm spice aroma you get in the Greek lasagna. I like to get dessert here sometimes when I have extra room, bc they have some great options like their galaktobourreko, chocolate ganache cake, etc. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient on these visits.

The place is new but not recently new, so I was impress that they were still attracting a crowd. The place was packed and busy but the host was still able to seat us immediately. With reservation, of course. Our seat was a banquet seating and when the host directed us to our table, we notice the party seated next to our table had placed all their personal belongings on our seats. We had to ask the host to ask them to remove their personals so that we can sit down. I felt that the host should have done that and not upon our request. Our server was Keamogetswe and she jumped right into explaining the menu since it was our first time. I am used to ordering drinks first and while waiting for our drinks, explore the food menu. That way, we can ask questions about any item we were unfamiliar with on the menu. Anyways, we ordered our food and they came out very fast. For starters, we had the grilled shrimp which was just two shrimps. They were not prawns so the size of the two shrimps for $18 was not worth it to me. We also tried the Rumi's wings. They were average to me. Nothing to brag about. For the main course, we wanted to try several dishes and settle for a family style meal. We had the braised lamb shank, chicken kabob and the Koobideh Kabob. Since all plates came with rice, Keamogetswe suggest we try different rice options which was a great suggestion. So for the rice, we had the Adas, the Baghali and the Shirin. I have to admit that the braised lamb was amazing. The stew it sat in was very flavorful and the meat melted off the bone it came with. The Koobideh was also another favorite of mine. Both, I highly recommend everyone to try. And my favorite rice was the Shirin. As we moved on to dessert, we had the burnt honey & pistachio cake and the persian ice cream sandwich. Both taste great but the persian ice cream sandwich itself was vanilla wafer. Different but it made it easier to eat with your fingers. The weird thing was when the dessert was served to us, so was the check. I am used to us eating dessert or just starting to enjoy dessert before being handed the check. And when they do hand me the check, they would mention that it was no rush and when I am ready to take care of it. But that didn't happen and I decided to get it out of the way so I can just enjoy the dessert. As we were conversing and finishing our drinks, they started to clear our table and even picked up the signed check or tab. It felt like they were hinting us to get up. I feel that if there was a time frame to dine with them, they should have made us aware of it before dinner or when we made reservation like how Toca Madera does. So that made me feel uncomfortable. But this could just be me.
