How beautiful is this cafe! Newly opened Cafe Auburndale is conveniently located literally couple of blocks from my house, I am very happy. The amount of detail put in to the interior design.. I am impressed more and more each visit. The ambiance is warm and bright, it is a great place to bring your friends and family for after dinner dessert. From coffee to bingsoo, it has quite a selection. We spent about $40 on dessert and I stumbled upon their cheesecake which was amazing! I know where to go for my cheesecake craving. While sitting by the window table, I was able to see that the Honey-Lemon Tea was very popular. Came to Cafe Auburndale a few times during the spring/summer season and found it to be way too cold - they blast the AC so high that you def need to wear a sweater.. maybe even a scarf and beanie hahah. Had to take a few breaks outside in the warm weather to thaw myself. They have a chill outdoor area in the back of the cafe to do work as well. Coming here to socialize during the cooler months though - perfect indoor temperature. I love Cafe Auburndale's wooden interior design, giving off a hip modern vibe. They provide free wifi, a clean bathroom, bright lighting, a variety of differently sized tables and seats, and an awesome acoustic playlist (thanks to SiriusXM The Coffee House). There are outlets placed near certain seating areas. There are also wall hooks to hook your bags/jackets on in the front area of the cafe. I've tried the following so far (missing some other drinks): Matcha latte ($4.50) - extra sweet, but I have a sweet tooth Chai latte ($4.50) - light chai flavor, foamy Hawaiian latte ($4.50) - light coconut flavor, tastes like a regular latte with a fancy name haha Fresh mango smoothie ($6) Iced green tea ($3.75) Danishes ($3.50) Recommend them all (except maybe Hawaiian latte haha). When there for dessert going by reviews, we ordered the very berry croffle by the menu picture. When finally got dessert it did' by look like the menu photo. Look like a half waffle with little blueberry and strawberry and whip cream, and a soup of strawberry ice cream. The place closes at 11:00 p.m., we got there at 10:15 p.m., look like it was rush in making the dessert cause it was near closing time. Not what I expected. I am a first timer and I was expecting traditional Korean Bingsu, shaved ices with sweet read bean and milk but couldn't find it on the menu. The counter ladies were bit confused but deconstructed $16.50 One closed to Bingsu and nixed the almonds (allergic) , mochi pieces and mugwort powder in one cup, half and half in tiny cup, shaved milk (really cool and yummy) in large bowel, and sweet red bean paste in small cup. This kindness allowed me to assemble the traditional Bingsu and it was delicious! Get there before 8:30pm to get shaved ice creations! The ice creams were all yummy. Finally made my family bring me to this place BEFORE dinner so we can enjoy it to the fullest extent and boy did we enjoy. The Oreo bingsoo was ginormous and so good. It's shaved ice cream not ice and my daughter actually liked it. She ate all the Oreo cookies and did not share and of course took the ice cream. The iced chocolate drink was chocolatey just the way I like it and my husbands coffee was different but good. The only issue is finding a place to sit because a lot of people are here with their laptops doing work or hanging out. A couple was nice enough to move a table down so we can sit comfortably with 2 round tables. The decor is so modern, bright and clean cut. At first when I passed by I thought it was a hair salon only to find out it was a new cafe. Definitely coming back to try the matcha bingsoo. I came here for dessert with my boyfriend last week after grabbing dinner in the area. The cafe is super cute and spacious. We opted for the berry croffle-it was loaded with strawberry ice cream, whipped topping, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries!! I love how generous they are with the berries because they are quite expensive--especially blackberries and raspberries!! It was my first time trying a croffle and it was amazing! The croffle itself isn't very sweet and almost a little savory because of its butter content so it balanced out the ice cream and whipped topping very well. I definitely will be back to try their bingsoo and coffee. The croffle is worth the trip alone. And it was so very refreshing! The mangos were perfectly ripe and complemented the soft, snow -like texture of the shaved ice. It's a hefty dessert and can be easily shared with one or two others. We also tried some of their cold beverages. We ordered the strawberry lemonade, matcha lemonade and the berry acai drink. The strawberry lemonade was delightful. It was not overly sweet or tangy with lemonade flavor which I liked. I thought the berry acai was very tasty but had a hint too much peanut butter for my taste. And I did not care for the matcha lemonade drink, but my friends thought it tasted great. The interior design gives off a welcoming feel; and low noise level and free Wi-Fi makes it a great spot to stay and work on your computer. They also have a cute outdoor seating area. I tried the dalgona soft serve and I didn't really like it at all. The dalgona pieces were getting stuck in my teeth and the pieces were pretty unpleasant to chew on while trying to enjoy my ice cream. The ice cream seemed like it was just vanilla ice cream. I wouldn't get this item again. I think it looked great but didn't meet my expectations for taste. Also, it was quite pricey for what it was. The bright lights and open space would give you the feeling of being outdoors in the middle of a Spring afternoon even if it's 9pm at night in the dead of winter. It took us a few minutes to order because we had a hard time deciding what to get. Fancy and fun waffles to artisanal ice creams can make your head spin. Finally we settled on the tiramisu waffle and affogato ice cream. Unfortunately, both items were mediocre at best. They tasted fine but that was about it. I can't agree with the price if they taste just "fine". It was a bit disappointing because we were expecting something more special like "oh wow, I never thought of this or or wow I can't make this at home". The other issue is their Covid-19 non-compliancy. We were a party of 4 and they didn't check our vaccine status. There were also 2 other large parties and that concerned me. One of my favorite dessert places in queens!! The matcha bingoo hits every time and their drinks are solid. We tried the yuzu lemonade, matcha latte, and grape slush this time -all delicious and the lemonade and slush were very refreshing. The lava cake was good, a huge portion with generous amount of ice cream. Love that this place opens late too, we came as a group around 10pm Saturday and managed to get a table even though the shop was fairly crowded. The interior and decor was so pretty too! Overall, the consensus was "it's ok"/average. Matcha bingsu - 4/5 - A bit pricey but good to share with 2 or 3 people. Lava cake - Friend got this and was a little disappointed that there wasn't any "lava" when the cake was cut, just sort of a regular chocolate cake with solid-ish filling. Dalgona affogato - Friends got this weren't too impressed with the flavor or item overall The interior was quite nice and there was lots of seating. The staff was quick and the orders came out in a timely manner (they have the portable buzzers). The space was quite filled even an hour before closing. The desserts (from the two I've tried so far) are tasty and super generous. I also like that they offer non-basic flavors. Can't say too much about the service because it's one of those cafes where you order and you pick up and sit down yourself, which is totally my vibe because it means I have to talk less. The one thing that doesn't sit well with me is the loudness. The ice machine is quite loud, so the people in the place talk louder over that and, overall, it be loud. The family rolled in for just one thing - bing soo. Located in a semi quiet strip of Auburndale miles away from downtown Flushing, this place has perhaps the best shaved ice in all of Queens. The decor is bright and colorful - really great vibes for a cafe. The bing soo here is next level good. We ordered the green tea, oreo and mango to try. The mango is a perfect balance of tangy mangoes along with rich vanilla bean ice cream topping a mountain of powdery creamy shaved ice that feels like powder. The oreo was shockingly good - an amazing texture experience that had rich chocolate ice cream that tops the creamy shaved ice but mixed with crushed chocolate cookies which was incredibly fun to eat. The winner though for me was the green tea - creamy green tea shaved ice topped with sweet red beans, green tea ice cream and rainbow mochi is about as good as you can get. I'm having flashbacks just by typing this. The orangeade was also really good - fresh OJ with sparkling soda was very tasty. Prices for the shaved ice range from 14-16 bucks but they're massive and really meant to shared by 2-3 people. If you're looking to take one down yourself, it's still worth the price. Very cute Korean cafe! We saw this place on tik tok and decided to stop by before driving out to Long Island. We didn't order any coffee or drinks but their desserts were the bomb! My friend and I came here for dessert after dinner on a rainy weekday, and the cafe was mostly empty. I was a bit nervous with this being the first dining experience I'd have where people choose to sit themselves, but I did notice some plexiglasses up to separate different parties. The price is about average for the current rates for milk shaved ice from $16-19. However they are all basic with just the milk shaved ice, a scoop of ice cream or just red bean with a fruit or mochi but pretty. The green tea shaved ice was ok - very sweet and didn't taste like green tea; more like vanilla. The milk shaved ice was ok as well with just red bean, mochi, and milk shaved ice but no classic multi grain powder. The strawberry shaved ice was the best. The best was the ice vanilla latte - the espresso beans were great but the price was steep costing a little over $7 for a large - which is more than even an ice venti vanilla latte from Starbucks. The cafe is quite small but it does have a back seating area along with a backyard with outdoor seating (it was closed but it might be available for events?) We ended up choosing the matcha red bean bingsoo and a chocolate lava cake. The -1 star was due to their lava cake as it was not exactly "lava". The chocolate cake was completely solid and we had excepted the chocolate to flow out once we cut it open. It also was overly sweet and vanilla ice cream as well. The mango pieces are always sweet though I'm not entirely sure they're fresh or just in syrup. Still not a deal breaker for me.
