We ate here in April for dinner with another couple. It was a busy even though it was a Tuesday evening. We had reservations but we ended up in the bar. However, that was fine. It was crowded inside because it was too cool to sit outside. I ordered the hummus platter for us, and it was absolutely beautiful. It in three different hummus - my favorite being the pesto one. The dish was topped with feta and served with carrots and celery and grilled pita. Yum! For my main course I ordered the Tuscan Grilled Beef Salad. The beef tips were grilled to perfection. The salad included mixed greens, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and onions. (I had them hold the onions) I also had them serve the dressing on the side. It was delicious and it was an ample serving. Our server was attentive. It was a wonderful meal, and a great way to spend time with friends. read more

Took a group of 10 to Arazu tonight, and we were there for 2-1/2 hours. Bar & food service was lackadaisical and slow. Food was good when it finally arrived, but some entrees were cold/luke-cool, and staff didn't appear to care. One of our favorite places, in the past, but this visit was super disappointing. Would not recommend Arazu for a busy night or a large group. I would have expected some consideration for the slowness and poor service, but none was offered. And there was no explanation, at any point, for why our food was delayed. Not impressed. Good food can't make up for poor service. 2 stars is giving them more than they deserve, at least tonight. read more

Cafe Arazu is a true gem. The kindest most welcoming staff helped us celebrate a birthday lunch on a random Tuesday. We love Mediterranean food and everything we've had is delectable. To start, the Cuban Cigars are an automatic order every visit. The hummus appetizer is pretty much too thanks to the best pita on the planet. On the lunch menu, the Chicken Shawarma is a savory favorite and the soup of the day is always worth trying. This was a recommendation from a customer while traveling with my job. It's located in a darling little town called Newburgh. The entire town was festive with Christmas lights which added to the ambience of this cute restaurant. I was greeted by the hostess. They had a stand set up with warm cider and cinnamon. They told me to help myself. I really liked this touch. I thought it was very hometown and I appreciated it the night that I was there. They had a special where you could try quite a few items on the menu I decided to order that Based on the recommendation from my server, everything was very good. It was a lot of meat for me so next time I would probably go for something that had a little bit more vegetables or salad. The service is what made the evening special. My server was so friendly and delightful. The hostess was just as well. You should give this place a try when traveling to Evansville. read more

Wow! What a gem nestled right in the heart of historic downtown Newburgh! I was out shopping and decided to finally try this place out. I had always heard good things, but never been and didn't even know what kind of food I was getting myself into. The lunch menu was small/limited, but gave a lot of great options! Although it's mainly Mediterranean cuisine, they do have a hodgepodge of other items on the menu if that's not your cup of tea. The drink menu isn't too extensive, simple and to the point. They have beer and wine, although not for the most sophisticated palate, it does the trick. However, I'd be going for the cocktails because they were just what the doctor ordered! Ok now for the good stuff... the food! We tried the Cuban Cigars for an appetizer and I would get those again, and highly recommend! They are little Cuban sandwich packed into thin little egg rolls, which are too die for! Great flavor, shareable, good side and not too much to ruin your dinner. For my main course I went with the gyro! The lamb and beef mixture used was thinly sliced and nicely seasoned. The tzatziki was cool and refreshing. The fries were nicely seasoned, thin and crispy, but also freshly cut. Over all it was a great meal! I was impressed and left with a full belly! Keep in mind the dinner menu is slightly elevated so I can only imagine some of the delicious options there are to choose from! The atmosphere was great. The inside is cool and eclectic. The outside patio has a nice view and homey feeling. The staff was friendly. Prices were reasonable. Nice relaxed vibe. Great view of the Ohio River. The only downside was that the service wasn't great in regard to speed, as they were definitely understaffed. Post-Covid, I get it's hard to keep staff, but I do think restaurants need to be a little more aware of what their staff can handle so people are just sitting around not being waited on. Sadly I know that decreases the use of a restaurant, but being aware of that does make for a better overall experience, even if you have to wait... and this place is WORTH THE WAIT! read more

My partner and I celebrated 20yrs at Cafe Arazu last night & this dining experience was absolutely perfect! From the moment we entered this beautiful establishment we were in awe of how we were weclomed and made to feel special. Although there were many tables occupied, we did not have to wait for a table. The owner was so kind & genuine as she oozed with class & walked us to a gorgeous spot in the multi leveled outdoor garden. Our server was authentic and knowledgeable. She paid attention to our every need and want. She also maintained her recognition of our private dining experience- allowing us to enjoy our intimate evening. My taste buds were smiling the whole way through this experience. The cocktails were the best I've ever experienced & I've lived all over the country. Everything was presented beautifully! The bread was so fresh-and flavorful which was sliced into easy to dip & bite sizes. So tasty! The most delicious bruschetta ive ever tasted- steak medallions melted in my mouth- the freshest most flavorful of vegetables- oh and the desserts were so perfectly created for any king. This is an absolutely beautiful restaurant serving Mediterranean food by the scenic Ohio River, in the quaint village of Newburgh, Indiana. It's a hip, cozy, eclectic, cafe vibe restaurant you can find in Napa Valley. It's owned by a husband & wife team started about 11 years ago, when the husband retired. It also happens to be my sister's favorite restaurant and I had to try it on my first visit after the pandemic. For lunch on a Friday it was super busy but they were able to seat us pretty quickly. I love this cuisine & at the first bite into my Falafel Pita, I knew this place was awesome. The Falafel was plentiful, the Tatziki sauce was perfectly tasty with fresh pita bread. We also had the seafood bisque & Black & Bleu salad. I tried the bisque which was so delicious. The wife is the chef as her staff said "she's a wizard in the kitchen". And they're right. The husband came to check on us & was so welcoming & knew my sister & hubby as they frequent this place. Everyone was super friendly. Great hospitality & service. Next time I visit Evansville Indiana, Cafe Arazu will be on the top of my list of restaurants to visit. read more

Cafe Arazu on Saturday was perfect. It was chilly out but nice and warm and cozy inside. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the smells of delicious things. Our dinner did not disappoint. We had a lovely Sauvignon Blanc that wasn't too pricey. We started with the hummus player, which is so fresh and flavorful. Then I had the yummy Arazu shrimp salad. The picture doesn't do it just. The vegetables were crisp, the shrimp was dynamite and the noodles on top were perfect. My friend had the chicken kabob that she loved. Then we were lucky to get a piece of their homemade carrot cake. That cake is fire. If you haven't tried it yet, you will love it. Last, but not at all least, our server was wonderful. Abbi was cheerful and helpful, and just made our wonderful visit even better. A lovely meal and a lovely evening. Once again, well done, Arazu. read more

Cafe Arazu is an old brick icehouse on old Newburgh. We made reservations in the early afternoon and were received promptly upon arrival. This place reeks personality, ambiance, you pick the adjective! After cocktails, and they have a nice little bar area, we ordered "Cuban Cigars" as our appetizer, a delightful finger food that was just enough for two. Our meal was served promptly and both were delicious! Mine, "The Sultan", provided a very generous portion of marinated steak along with a mixed/minced lamb and beef combination, both prepared as Kabobs along with sautéed vegetables and I added some mashed potatoes to satisfy my southern upbringing. Our excellent server tempted us with a plateful of homemade desserts an we indulged in a slice of excellent double chocolate cake. Our whole experience was delightful and we will return when the days are longer so we can experience the back patio with a scenic view of the Ohio River. Don't miss this charming venue! read more
