Stopped by Patsy Hartigan's for lunch with my mom, my sister, and her baby. Unfortunately, the service really missed the mark. They were running a lunch special on the smash burger for $10 until 2:00. We arrived before 2, but by the time our server took our order, it was 2:02 -- and she wouldn't honor the special. So my mom ended up paying $5 more for the exact same thing. To make matters worse, my sister was upcharged for swapping fries for green beans, even though the green beans cost less. When we asked about it, the waitress said they "don't notify customers of upcharges." When my sister politely asked to have the charge removed, the waitress just said no. It came across as dismissive and unnecessarily rude. The food itself was fine, but the service from this particular waitress was rude and left us feeling unwelcome. With open and honest communication and a friendlier attitude, this place has the potential to be a pleasant lunch spot -- but this experience was unpleasant from start to finish. read more

Very busy for Saturday lunch, seemed to be one of the only restaurants open. Ordered the corned beef rueben which came with fries. The fries were very bland and not cooked all the way through. They would be better with a seasoning or sauce. The sandwich needs improving. The meat to sauerkraut ratio was not on par. Several of my pieces of meat were too fatty to consume. All I can say is wow, this place is absolutely amazing. It was so good that I went back every day I was in town because I wanted to try everything on the menu. Great little Irish pub in downtown Evansville. My father in law and I both had fish and chips for lunch. Fish was fresh and cooked very well. Chips were also hot and fresh. The tartar sauce was too much like buttermilk for me, but malt vinegar was a better option. The only thing I didn't like was the bland slaw. The slaw was fresh, but had little taste. I'll front end the negatives. There is an 8% Evansville tax applied to the bill. The side order of Cole slaw, though outstanding, was a small portion for the price. On to the good. Went with the corned beef Rueben which came with fries and a pickle - thought it was very good. Tried their home brewed "roll out the barrel" on staff recommendation and thought it was excellent. Staff was very friendly and attentive as I sat behind the bar, had 3 different people checking up on me. Music was playing above the crowd noise; 3 different programs on big screens scattered throughout, including a few ballgames. Place was close to capacity just before the Saturday dinner rush. Very accommodating! Had a party of 10 for a 77th birthday. Called ahead 45 minutes as suggested, arrived 25 minutes early and they told us our table was just setup and ready! Everyone arrived by 5:00. Had the best waiter experience we've had in years with Nicholas, very knowledgeable and friendly! Great food and service was outstanding!!! We were a party of seven, ordered Fish sandwiches that had no flavor and Cole slaw slapped on it that didn't look very appetizing. The Fries were not cooked thoroughly through and were cold and bland.. Fish and chips were ok and Ruben sandwich also. Ordered a Bread Pudding that was cold and hard that you almost had to use a Hammer and a Chisel. When I got my Bill , I noticed that they added already the Tip into it . We already gave the waitress our tip, but after we saw that it was already included, we asked for it back and she told us that she didn't know... Right??? We were not too impressed about the food and it needs some improvement and we thought the prices were a little too steep for what we got. Also, one of us ordered a sweet red wine and got one that was so dry that she couldn't even drink it and ended up paying $7.00 dollars . One ordered a clam chowder soup and ended up getting sick after she left. She said later that the soup was horrible . We will never come back or recommend it to anyone else. Excellent food, great beer selection, wonderful wait staff. Love this spot that works for a casual lunch spot or nice date night. We had the Scotch Egg to start which was cooked perfectly. The best Ruben in town used to be Gerst Haus but this place reins king of the Ruben! The shepherds pie was great and huge. My favorite taste of the night was the herb bread served with the pie. We grabbed a slice of chocolate cake to take home and it was super rich and decadent. For sure one of my favorite places in Evansville. read more

Overall, the pub is a nice interior. It's not quite like an authentic Irish pub, but it's fine. We were recently in Ireland so we had a good frame of reference for this. The draft menu was good. A large variety including mainstays in Irish culture. The food is the worst part and needs to be improved upon. My wife and I both go Shepard's pie and seemed to be the most bland dish I've had at a restaurant in a long time. There seemed to be no garlic, tomato paste, or thyme or parsley. Seemed the vegetables were frozen in nature. And the cheddar was tasteless in the dish as well. I want to like this place, but won't be eating again unless they up their food. read more

Very busy on a Saturday. We had the spice bag which was really good. Also ordered the Rueben and seafood stew. Rueben was excellent, the stew ok. Found shells in the soup but the flavor okay. The bar is beautiful but definitely needed more than 2 bartenders as this was a very busy day and it's a large bar. The drinks were great! Thanks to the two bartenders they were able to make a non Irish mule for me. Would definitely recommend again and try one of the other food items. read more

We went there at 6:40pm and the hostess said all they were serving was wings and fries! Said the kitchen was out of food! What restaurant runs out of ALL food before 7pm! Sucks to be a paying patron and told NO FOOD AVAILABLE. WE WONT BE BACK. How can a new restaurant be out of ALL food at 6:40 pm? Not a reputable place in my opinion.
